Synopsis:
I traveled to the world of Naruto — and I’m even part of the Uchiha clan.
I’m Obito’s older brother, Uchiha Yuu.
I’m not upset about this at all, because I’ve got a bound Notebook System: just write something down, and I get rewards.
[Record: Don’t give Obito dinner tonight.]

Obito went to bed full of complaints.
Yuu have gained Yin Release chakra.

That’s amazing!
It made me think of Danzo — the man who holds nothing but twisted hatred for the entire Uchiha clan.

Yuu used a Sharingan brimming with dark power to make this record.
A change has happened: anyone you write about will suffer one streak of bad luck, and you gain Misfortune Energy.]
“All I did was eat a bun… how did I crack my tooth?” Danzo slammed his bun down on the table in anger.
Snap!
The bun broke clean in two.
“Impossible!
I’m still in my prime!”

After years of recording Danzo’s dark deeds, your Mangekyō Sharingan has gained an Ōtsutsuki Divine Art: Misfortune.
Anyone struck by your Mangekyō can be made to suffer any kind of bad luck you choose.]
Chapter 1:
Konoha Village, Ninja Academy.
“Congratulations, you have graduated from the Academy!
The Will of Fire shall now be carried forward by you all.”
Uchiha You watched Hiruzen Sarutobi, clad in the robes of the Third Hokage, smiling warmly down at the new graduates.
As a parent observing the ceremony, Yuu scoffed inwardly.
Fine words, but when the time came to throw these children onto the front lines as cannon fodder, the village’s higher-ups would show no mercy.
And no one suffered more for it than the Uchiha clan.
He glanced at his younger brother, Uchiha Obito, eyes shining with excitement — as if he truly grasped the meaning of the Will of Fire.
My foolish little brother.
Yuu had arrived in this world just as the Third Shinobi World War was beginning to loom on the horizon; Obito’s batch was graduating early to meet the need for more ninja.
This also brought to mind a secret he had recently learned: the clan’s upper echelons were growing restless, seeing the chaos brewing across the shinobi world as an opportunity.
The clan elders believed Konoha had suffered heavy losses in the Second Shinobi World War, and now relied heavily on the Uchiha.
It was the perfect moment, they argued, to demand greater power from the village.
Foolish political calculation.
In Yuu’s eyes, the Uchiha’s obsession with seizing authority beyond the Konoha Military Police Force would only push the Third Hokage and Danzō to do everything in their power to weaken them.
From what he knew, several Uchiha ninja had already died in “accidental” intelligence errors during missions — Danzō’s handiwork, without a doubt.
Worse still, he knew what lay ahead: in the Third Shinobi World War, even when Konoha held the upper hand, Orochimaru and Danzō would orchestrate a trap that pitted the Uchiha in a brutal, grinding war against Kirigakure, costing countless lives.
And the clan would foolishly believe that after spilling their blood for the village, they would finally earn the respect and influence they craved.
Only to return home to cold disdain from the leadership — and the inauguration of the Fourth Hokage.
The Uchiha had been played for fools by Konoha’s highest command!
That said, not everyone was blind.
Uchiha Fugaku, the clan leader, was one of the few who saw the danger.
> [Uchiha Fugaku’s thoughts: I am deeply troubled by the elders’ plan to seize more power amid the village’s weakness.
I cannot see where rights won through war will lead the Uchiha, or what end awaits us.
I tried to speak against it, but was dismissed out of hand — they insist this is our only chance.]
Yuu recalled the prompt he had received after recording Fugaku’s words in his journal, and fell into thought.
“From what the system showed me, even the clan leader fears drawing the village’s hostility.
Yet he went along with this plan — forced by some elder.
Who holds enough sway over him to make him act against his own judgment?”
From what Yuu knew of the clan’s leadership, the two elders Uchiha Sora and Uchiha Chi, and the four captains of the Military Police Force, did not have the power to pressure Fugaku.
Is there a hidden elder pulling the strings?
The plan was simple: leverage the coming war, when Konoha would need every elite ninja it could get, to trade service for power.
Fugaku could not say where it would lead — but Yuu knew exactly how it would end.
It would drive the Uchiha to rebellion.
Every clansman who had awakened the Three-Tomoe Sharingan would end up on ROOT’s hit list, their eyes harvested to fill Danzō’s arm.
The elder who proposed this plan deserved to burn.
He was dragging the entire clan straight into the abyss!
How had the Uchiha ended up with such a “genius” leader?
Why not go join forces with Danzō and become Konoha’s pair of “great strategists” who only dug their own graves?
Thankfully, Yuu had already awakened his golden finger: the Journal System.
The system allowed him to record fifteen entries per day, with rewards tailored to what he wrote.
The rewards were random, but after testing repeatedly, Yuu had worked out the rules:
Most often, the system would give him extra context for what he had recorded, or reveal hidden truths about the people mentioned.
He planned to use this ability to track down the hidden elder — and stop him before he destroyed everything.
Sometimes, however, he would get special rewards: he could extract abilities, talents, or attributes directly from the people he wrote about.
That was why, from the moment he activated the system, he had set his sights on Konoha’s most influential figures — the Third Hokage, Clan Leader Fugaku, and easiest of all, his foolish little brother Obito.
Obito was still an earnest, hot-blooded boy who believed every word he heard.
No one could have guessed the dark path he would one day walk — or how he would shake the entire shinobi world.
With that thought, Yuu spoke silently in his mind:
“System, record: Year 43 of Konoha.
The Third Hokage preaches the Will of Fire yet again at the graduation ceremony.
Obito’s eyes burn with such devotion that the Third glances at him twice.
I really want to give this foolish brother of mine a good scolding.”
The prompt rang in his head:

Just as Yuu prepared to check the feedback, he felt a gaze settle on him.
Since awakening the system, he had written about his teammates many times — and once even extracted a reward of enhanced five senses from an Inuzuka clansman.
His senses were sharper than most.
He knew instantly that this gaze was fixed on him.
He glanced subtly toward the source.
ROOT.
Members of Danzō’s shadow organization.
He had felt something off for days, and now he knew: he was being watched.
But he had kept his head down, stayed careful — he hadn’t even awakened his Sharingan yet.
Why target him?
“System, record: After two days of observation, I am certain ROOT is keeping me under surveillance.”

After the ceremony, as they walked home, Obito said excitedly: “Brother!
Listening to the Third’s speech just now… I feel like I understand the Will of Fire even more deeply!”
Yuu’s eye twitched.
If they weren’t being watched, he would have kicked Obito and demanded to know why he was so obsessed with the Will of Fire — why he had aced every single lesson on it, while his practical skills lagged behind.
Was this devotion meant to help him destroy his own clan?
Yuu took a slow breath to calm himself, then asked: “Is that so?
Tell me — what new understanding have you reached?
I’d love to learn from you too.”
Obito didn’t notice the irritation beneath his brother’s calm tone.
He beamed: “It means working hard for Konoha!
To help others, you must carry Konoha in your heart.
And becoming Hokage will let me help more people than ever before — that is the Will of Fire!”
“Mm.
Wonderful.
My Obito really is something special.
Then you can start by helping your brother’s wallet — I’ve had too few missions this month.
So no dinner for you tonight.”
Obito’s grin vanished.
He stared, stunned.
“Hey!
That’s not helping!
You’re just being lazy!
This is the fourth time you’ve starved me this month — at this rate, I’ll be the one supporting you!”
Yuu looked at him with what seemed like genuine pride.
“See?
My Obito is all grown up now, so responsible.
Then until you start taking missions, we’ll stick to two meals a day.”
“Brother!
We’re related!” Obito’s eyes went wide, his face twisted in protest.
“Exactly — that’s why I have no guilt at all.” Yuu didn’t wait for a reply, and walked ahead — while making another entry in his mind.
“Record: This is the sixth time Obito has felt resentment toward me for skipping his meals this month.”

A faint, triumphant smile touched Yuu’s lips.
Hidden in the shadows nearby, the two ROOT agents watching him exchanged words.
One frowned.
“Why are we wasting time on a Chūnin who hasn’t even awakened his Sharingan?
Shouldn’t we be watching the real target?”
“Because he’s odd,” his companion replied.
“Odd how?”
“Since he became a Chūnin, he’s completed ten B-rank missions — and every single time, he’s picked a different team.
Aburame, the Ino-Shika-Cho trio, other noble clans… even Hyuga.
But never once has he partnered with another Uchiha.”
“That is strange.”
Everyone knew the Uchiha looked down on other Konoha ninja, seeing them as dead weight — they would fill every spot on a mission roster with their own kin if they could.
“Should we test him?” the first agent asked, clearly meaning a ROOT-style “test.”
“Need approval from above.
Danzō-sama doesn’t want unnecessary payouts, and his teammates are all from influential clans — we can’t touch them easily.”
The Third Hokage took the deaths of ninja, especially those from noble houses, very seriously.
Back home, Obito bolted straight for the refrigerator, hoping to grab something before Yuu could stop him.
“Don’t bother,” Yuu said with a bright, innocent smile.
“I cleared it out yesterday.”
“So you were planning to starve me!” Obito said, looking betrayed.
“Not at all.
I just finished a B-rank mission, and I’m heading to the izakaya to celebrate with my team.
You’re not invited.”
Obito pointed a shaking finger at his chest.
“Brother!
Our parents are watching from the afterlife!
Don’t you feel any shame?”
Yuu shrugged.
“I’m teaching you financial responsibility early.
Besides — starting now, all mission rewards go to me, after covering your basic expenses.
I’ll manage your money for you.
They’ll rest easy knowing I’m taking such good care of you.”
“Are we really brothers?!”
On the night of Konoha’s 43rd year, after the Ninja Academy graduation, Obito fell asleep with an empty stomach — and a heart full of grievances.
Nightfall
Returning from the izakaya, Uchiha Yuu found Obito already fast asleep.
He set the breakfast he’d prepared for him inside the refrigerator.
“Don’t blame your brother.
Blame the Journal System.
I can only draw out the Yin chakra you generate when you resent me — and that chakra is the key to awakening the Sharingan.
You produce Yin chakra so easily, Obito… no wonder Madara wants you so badly.
If my guess is right, I’m actually saving you.”
