“Lord Tsuchikage… there is one more you must be wary of.”

Han, who had spoken little until now, suddenly cut in.

At the mention of that person, silence fell over the room once more.

Han had already submitted his full report on the ambush against Shisui.

Every one of them — Ōnoki included — had been shaken to the core.

Never had they seen such uncanny power: sealing someone with nothing but rising earth and stone.

Even Han, halfway transformed, had been helpless against it.

In all of Iwagakure, only Ōnoki’s Dust Release offered any hope of escape — anyone else would stand no chance.

“This person’s power is beyond measure.

Not a single report or file mentions them.”

“We know nothing of who they are… what jutsu they wield… or even if they truly hail from Konoha.”

“They are a complete enigma.”

“And they may well pose a greater threat to us than Hiruzen Sarutobi himself!”

“Very well,” Ōnoki said after a long pause.

“We shall use this chance to find out if they truly stand with Konoha.”

Seeing that their leader had made his choice, the others said no more — and began laying out the finer details of the plan.

…

Konoha — Night

After two hours of relentless training, Ryuu made his way back to the Uchiha compound, breathless and soaked in sweat.

Though night had fallen, the grounds were still alive with clansmen chatting, strolling, or pairing off for quiet walks.

“Ryuu — late today?”

“Heard you went out with Shisui‑san on a mission!”

Familiar faces greeted him along the way; he returned each nod with a faint smile.

“Ryuu — just in time. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.

Wash your hands, dinner’s ready!”

At home, a gentle, warm‑looking woman waved him over.

At the low table, a stern‑faced man sat reading a paper.

These were his parents: Uchiha Takibi and Uchiha Masumi.

“Right.”

Ryuu blinked, answered softly, washed his hands as he remembered, and took his place.

Masumi set the paper aside.

Just like the family he had left behind, she fussed over small, caring things.

Takibi said little — only asking after his duties with the Police Force and his training.

Ryuu could feel how deeply they cared for him.

“This is what family feels like…”

His heart swelled.

After the meal, he slipped into his room and shut the door.

Now, at last, he had time to test his greatest prize: the Rinnegan.

Not to check the Six Paths powers — he already knew they would work perfectly — but to settle one lingering doubt.

All knew the Sharingan evolved in a line: Sharingan → Mangekyō → Eternal Mangekyō → Rinnegan.

The Rinnegan was its ultimate form.

If he already possessed the peak… would the earlier stages still exist?

Madara had switched freely between the Eternal Mangekyō and the Rinnegan.

But Madara’s eyes had evolved naturally — Ryuu’s were a gift from the system.

There was no guarantee.

He focused his mind — and his pupils shifted.

But to his disappointment… none of its unique abilities had awakened.

It granted nothing beyond basic genjutsu.

No Susanoo, no special techniques.

In every way that mattered, it was as if he did not have it at all.

“Greedy of me, I suppose,” he murmured to himself with a dry smile.

“Those Mangekyō powers are broken — why would the system throw them in for free?”

He put the thought aside and practiced the mental meditation his predecessor had used to sharpen his focus.

Two hours later, he fell fast asleep.

The Next Morning

His body had already set its own rhythm.

The first rays of sunlight touched the window — and his eyes opened instantly.

No lingering in bed.

“System — I’d like to…”

He reached for the habit of checking in… then paused.

The system had told him: the more special the location, the greater the reward.

He wanted the best he could get.

Where in Konoha held the most weight?

The Hokage Building, the Hokage Rock, the Ninja Academy… then the Uchiha compound, and the lands of other great clans.

“Today… I’ll start at the Hokage Building.”

It fit perfectly — as a member of the Military Police, patrolling the village was already his duty.
