“Rin, I’m going to create a world where you exist once again!”

The mournful words spoken by Obito echoed through Kai’s mind.

He found himself standing in a pool of blood, his arms wrapped around Rin’s blood-soaked body.

Kai was completely dumbfounded.

What the hell is going on?

Wasn’t I just at home watching Naruto?

He raised his head.

A blood-red moon hung high in the sky, while a massive tree towered behind him.

The corpses of Mist shinobi hung from its branches, blood raining down from their bodies.

His right arm was missing, with a broken wooden limb extending from his shoulder, while a spiral-shaped Zetsu enveloped his frail body.

“Is this a dream?” he muttered.

He bent down, picked up a kunai, and lightly dragged its edge across his face.

A sharp sting immediately shot through his skin.

It was painfully real.

And with it came a horrifying realization.

This isn’t a dream…

I really did transmigrate.

And I transmigrated into Obito Uchiha at this point in time!

“Obito… daijōbu?” Spiral Zetsu asked worriedly.

For some reason, Kai could understand the Japanese perfectly.

Perhaps it was some kind of synchronization between worlds.

“I’m fine…”

After standing there in a daze for a moment, Kai answered.

As someone who had spent years immersed in anime and web novels, he accepted his new reality surprisingly quickly.

“Let’s return to Madara-sama,” Spiral Zetsu said.

Of course.

Madara had deliberately arranged for Obito to witness Rin’s death.

He wanted Obito to lose all hope in the world, return to him willingly, accept his manipulation, and eventually become the loyal pawn who would resurrect Madara and carry out the Eye of the Moon Plan.

Unfortunately for Madara, the person standing here now wasn’t the pitiful Obito.

It was Kai—a transmigrator.

As a die-hard Naruto fan who had watched the series more than ten times, Kai knew exactly what happened at every major point in the timeline.

He understood the Naruto world far better than anyone else.

And so…

He absolutely wasn’t going to fall into Madara’s trap and end up destroying himself just like Obito had.

In fact, he already had the beginnings of a plan.

Sorry, Rin.

I can’t create a world where only you exist anymore.

Because having just you…

isn’t enough.

Kai surveyed his surroundings.

The movement of moisture through the air, the paths of tiny grains of sand on the ground—everything appeared in astonishing detail before his eyes.

“So this is what it feels like to see the world through the Sharingan…”

He slowly withdrew his gaze.

“How incredible.”

His eyes settled on Rin in his arms.

Her body was still warm.

But Kai wasn’t about to do anything perverted.

First, he needed to preserve her body and figure out what to do with it later.

And where better to store it than his Kamui dimension?

He gently placed Rin’s body on the ground.

Then he covered his right eye with his hand, leaving a narrow gap between his fingers.

He focused his gaze on Rin.

A strange sensation suddenly stirred within him.

A stream of warmth began surging through his body, gathering toward his right eye.

“This… is chakra!”

Kai finally understood.

His right eye grew hot, his pupil trembling as blood vessels spread across the white of his eye.

Since this was his first time using a dōjutsu, it took him quite some effort to figure out how to activate it.

Whoosh!

Finally, the familiar space-time vortex appeared before his eye.

Under Kai’s control, it rotated counterclockwise.

Rin’s body was slowly swallowed by the vortex and transported into the Kamui dimension.

“Phew…”

Kai let out a breath and looked toward Kakashi, who was lying unconscious in a pool of blood nearby.

Kakashi was completely out cold, unaware of everything that had happened.

Kai stood up and walked over to him.

He flipped Kakashi onto his back.

The very first thing he did was pull down Kakashi’s mask.

He had to see the face hidden beneath it.

After all, this was one of the great mysteries that had remained unsolved throughout Naruto and even its sequel.

When Kai finally saw Kakashi’s face, he couldn’t help sighing.

As expected of Kakashi…

He’s ridiculously handsome.

No wonder Rin was so completely smitten with him.

Still, Kai wasn’t petty enough to kick someone while they were down just because Kakashi could technically be considered his love rival.

On that point, he would respect the original story and spare Kakashi’s life.

However…

“You’re not an Uchiha, so you can’t handle the full power of this Mangekyō. I’ll help lighten the burden for you, Kakashi…”

As he spoke, Kai reached out and pressed his fingers against Kakashi’s left eye socket.

Pop!

Kakashi’s left eye was pulled free.

That eye originally belonged to Obito.

Naturally, Kai was going to take it back.

Unlike Obito, he had no pointless attachment to giving up power that was already within his reach.

More importantly, the power residing in this eye was Kamui—one of the most troublesome Mangekyō Sharingan abilities in the entire Naruto world.

Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Kagutsuchi were impressive, but compared to Kamui, they seemed far less versatile.

Only Kotoamatsukami could truly be considered a comparable trump card, and even that technique had a notoriously long recovery period.

But with both eyes possessing Kamui…

Kai would be able to stand above almost anyone.

It was better than any cheat ability he could have asked for.

Following Madara’s example, Kai simply placed the eyeball into his empty left eye socket.

Sizzle!

A thin trail of blood ran down from the corner of his left eye.

Thanks to the Hashirama cells within his body, the optic nerve quickly reconnected.

Kai opened his left eye.

Three tomoe spun within it.

A pair of Mangekyō Sharingan.

The world before his eyes instantly became different.

“As expected… Everything is much clearer with both eyes.”

Power continued to surge through his body.

“So Madara really was right. Whether it’s the Sharingan or the Rinnegan, only when you possess both eyes can their true power be brought out!”

Kai was thrilled.

But he couldn’t completely relax yet.

There was still one final obstacle standing before him.

Madara.

“Madara-sama” was the respectful title Naruto fans often used for Uchiha Madara.

Madara was also one of Kai’s favorite villains.

But now that Kai had transmigrated into the Naruto world, Madara was the first hurdle he had to overcome.

Deep underground, the Gedo Statue towered over the chamber.

Madara sat on a stone chair before it, three white tubes extending from the statue and connecting to the back of his neck.

He survived by relying on the life force supplied by the Gedo Statue.

“I will sever the ties of fate that bind this world!”

Standing before Madara, Kai imitated Obito’s tone and declared his ambition.

His expression remained calm.

Inside, however, he was extremely nervous.

Some of his actions had differed slightly from the original Obito.

He wasn’t sure whether the old fox Madara would notice something was wrong.

Madara carefully examined the Obito standing before him.

After a long silence, his aged lips curled into a faint smile.

“Hmph… No one else discovered you, did they?”

Phew.

The exact same line.

Half of Kai’s tension immediately disappeared.

At that moment, a White Zetsu standing beside Madara spoke.

“I was the only one who saw him. Obito killed all the enemies, so there shouldn’t be any problems! Though he didn’t seem interested in killing Kakashi. He only took Kakashi’s eye. By the time Konoha’s reinforcements arrived, he was just standing there, covering his eye and staring blankly…”

Madara stared deeply at Kai.

“You couldn’t bring yourself to finish off your former comrade?”

Kai had to play his part all the way through.

He spread his hands and replied indifferently,

“No. I simply don’t care.”

“Whether that man is alive or dead doesn’t matter to me.”

“In the world I’m going to create, both Kakashi and Rin will exist.”

“Tell me, Madara. How can I create the world I saw in my dreams?”

Madara smiled.

“You don’t need to thank me. Come here.”

Kai strode toward him.

“From this day onward, you are the savior of this world.”

“Look into my eyes!”

Madara’s Sharingan activated.

Kai was pulled into a genjutsu.

Within the illusion, Madara told him everything exactly as he had in the original story—the Ten-Tails, the Gedo Statue, the Infinite Tsukuyomi, the Rinnegan, and everything else he needed to know.

Kai already knew all of it.

But he remained expressionless and listened to every word.

When they left the genjutsu, Madara stood up.

He placed his aged hand on the White Zetsu standing beside him.

Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle…

Half of the White Zetsu’s body suddenly turned black.

Black Zetsu emerged.

Kai stared deeply at it.

“I have implanted a portion of my will into it. You can consider half of it to be me.”

“This is also a degraded product. You can treat these creations made through Yin–Yang Release as your pawns.”

Madara formed a hand seal with two fingers.

Crack!

A black rod emerged from the chest of the Hashirama clone being cultivated by the Gedo Statue.

“That black rod is the physical manifestation of my will. You can use it when performing the Six Paths techniques.”

After arranging everything, Madara began walking forward.

Crack!

The three tubes connecting him to the Gedo Statue snapped.

His body, already at the end of its life, collapsed back onto the stone chair.

“Ha… ha…”

Madara panted heavily.

“Ah… That’s enough.”

“Go.”

“Until I am resurrected, you will be… Uchiha Madara!”

Kai stared at Madara until he finally breathed his last.

Madara…

rest in peace.

Because there’s no way I’m resurrecting you.

The Eye of the Moon Plan will never happen.

But I will gather the Tailed Beasts, revive the Ten-Tails, and become its Jinchūriki myself…

“Obito, let’s begin Madara-sama’s plan.”

Black and White Zetsu approached him.

“First, we need to go to the Hidden Rain Village and find Nagato. We must nurture his Rinnegan and prepare for Madara-sama’s resurrection…”

“Yeah. I understand.”

“But we’ll have to change the order a little.”

Sizzle!

Kai activated his Mangekyō Sharingan.

His left eye focused directly on Black Zetsu.

He was going to deal with Black Zetsu right here!

Kamui!

“Ah!! What—what are you doing?!”

Black Zetsu’s expression changed to one of horror.

Kai’s gaze was cold.

“This… is what it means to sever fate!”
