Yūhi Shinku and his daughter Yuhi Kurenai turned their heads and looked over.
Yusuke was walking toward them, holding the White Fang blade in his right hand and a wine jug in his left.
He was swaying his head from side to side as he walked.
Seeing Yusuke’s slightly flushed handsome face and smelling the strong scent of alcohol coming from him, Yūhi Shinku couldn’t help frowning.
“Y-you brat, did you go drinking?”
“Huh? I only had a little.”
Yusuke stumbled and directly fell toward Yūhi Shinku.
“Damn!”
Yūhi Shinku cursed under his breath and hurriedly steadied the kid, scolding him, “Are you insane? Konoha just suffered a disaster that nearly wiped out the entire village, and you actually have the mood to drink?”
Little Yuhi Kurenai pinched her nose and muttered, “Big Brother smells awful.”
“Ehehe, Uncle, you’re looking at it the wrong way.”
Supported by Yūhi Shinku, Yusuke grinned.
“This time, Konoha can be said to have survived a great disaster and will surely be blessed afterward. It was supposed to be destroyed by the Nine-Tails, but we successfully survived. Isn’t that worth celebrating? I’m drinking because I’m happy for Konoha!”
As he said this, Yusuke raised the wine jug again and downed the remaining wine in one gulp.
Damn!
Yūhi Shinku thought with a dark expression.
This kid actually seemed to have a point.
I can’t even argue with him.
“Yuhi Kurenai, go back and get some rest. I’ll take this brat home.”
Yūhi Shinku said this to his daughter before preparing to carry Yusuke to his house.
“No need, Uncle. My house was blown up by one of the Nine-Tails’ Tailed Beast Bombs. I have nowhere to go.”
Yusuke grinned.
To Yusuke, having his house blown up was a trivial matter.
What made him happy was that he hadn’t expected his plan to go so smoothly.
Two-thirds of Konoha’s territory had been destroyed, more than fifteen hundred shinobi had died, and the village had lost the Nine-Tails, its ultimate weapon and strongest Tailed Beast.
Konoha could no longer maintain its title as the “Greatest Shinobi Village in the Shinobi World.”
In terms of overall strength, Kumogakure and Iwagakure had probably already surpassed Konoha.
The reason Konoha hadn’t been surpassed by Kirigakure and Sunagakure was that it still possessed a deep foundation, as well as five Kage-level combatants in Sarutobi Hiruzen, Shimura Danzo, and the Three Ninja.
As for himself…
Hearing this, Yūhi Shinku frowned and helped Yusuke toward his own house, complaining, “Fine, consider me indebted to you. Stay at my place for the time being.”
To Yūhi Shinku, Yusuke was both his close friend’s subordinate and a hero who had saved Konoha this time.
Whether emotionally or morally, he couldn’t possibly leave him to fend for himself.
“Big Brother smells awful. Go take a bath.”
Little Yuhi Kurenai pouted.
“Hehehe~ Uncle, are you trying to make me your son-in-law? I’m quite popular, you know. You’ll have to give me a bigger dowry~”
Yusuke gave a strange laugh.
As soon as little Yuhi Kurenai heard this, her face turned bright red, and she immediately ran upstairs to her room.
“Get lost!”
Yūhi Shinku angrily threw Yusuke onto the sofa.
He had almost lost his temper and thrown the kid straight out of the house.
How dare he set his sights on his daughter?
…
…
The first rays of morning sunlight entered the room.
Lying on the sofa, Yusuke covered his forehead and sat up, muttering, “Sigh~ I got a little too carried away last night~ My head still hurts…”
Although he had been quite drunk, Yusuke still woke up just as the sun came out.
It was a habit he had developed in his previous life.
“Y-Yusuke Big Brother, th-this is tomato juice. It’s supposed to help you sober up…”
At this moment, little Yuhi Kurenai approached him with a bottle of tomato juice, her face flushed red.
“Mm, thanks. Yuhi Kurenai is such a good girl.”
Yusuke took the tomato juice and smiled as he gently pinched Yuhi Kurenai’s little cheek.
Little Yuhi Kurenai’s face turned even redder, and she quickly ran back to her room.
After downing the entire bottle of tomato juice and washing his face, Yusuke had sobered up considerably.
“Hey, Uncle Shinku~”
Yusuke called out, but no one answered.
“M-my dad already went out. He said he was going to help with Konoha’s reconstruction.”
“I see…”
Yusuke held his stomach.
He hadn’t eaten anything since last night.
He had spent the entire time drinking and having fun.
“Yuhi Kurenai, come on. Big Brother will take you out for breakfast.”
Yusuke waved to Yuhi Kurenai.
Damn, why does that sound like some shady uncle saying, “Little girl, come with Uncle and I’ll show you some goldfish”?
Little Yuhi Kurenai’s face flushed with embarrassment, but her stomach also began protesting.
In the end, she could only timidly let Yusuke take her hand as they left the house and walked through Konoha’s ruined streets.
The shinobi had already begun repairing the village, but the damage was simply too severe.
Restoring everything to its original state would take at least half a year.
After all, they didn’t have Senju Hashirama’s house-building technique.
“What a coincidence! Yuhi Kurenai!”
Just then, a little girl and boy around Yuhi Kurenai’s age waved at her from ahead and called out.
“Rin, Obito! You’re both okay!”
Yuhi Kurenai exclaimed in surprise.
Obito, one of the major villains of Naruto in the future, was currently nothing more than a six-year-old brat who liked helping old ladies cross the street.
“Hey, Yuhi Kurenai, why are you holding a man’s hand? Won’t Asuma be furious when he sees this?”
Noticing that Yuhi Kurenai was holding Yusuke’s hand, Obito teased her with a grin.
Little Yuhi Kurenai’s face turned bright red, and she hurriedly pulled her hand back.
“Obito, this is Lord Yusuke. He’s the hero who drove the Nine-Tails away from Konoha.”
Rin Nohara came closer, looking at Yusuke with admiration in her eyes.
“He’s the one!?”
As soon as Obito heard this, admiration immediately appeared on his face as well.
“Hello, Lord Yusuke! I’m Uchiha Obito. I’ll definitely become the Hokage someday!”
A Naruto clone?
Yusuke found this amusing inwardly.
He then patted Obito on the shoulder and said earnestly, “Kid, listen to your uncle. You should choose a different dream.”
