Staring at the three-story villa that had suddenly appeared in front of him, Madara Uchiha couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth.

He turned back to look at the timber he’d been chopping, and the bizarre foundation he’d laid earlier using Earth Release jutsu…

If he’d known this little brat had this kind of ability, would he have wasted all that effort chopping trees out here?!

Infuriating!

This little brat had clearly done it on purpose, just to watch him make a fool of himself!

The moment that thought crossed his mind, the look Madara fixed on Hirofumi Ito turned extremely ugly.

A killing intent like that is impossible to hide.

Hirofumi Ito, of course, had no idea that Madara was already thinking about putting a blade in him.

He was still busy thinking that after going through all the trouble of building this guy such a lavish villa, the guy would surely teach him properly now, right?!

For a ninja, having an excellent teacher truly mattered, naturally, with the exception of a certain cheat-code existence…

Right now, no matter how Madara looked at Hirofumi Ito, he found him utterly irritating.

He had inexplicably become this little brat’s summoned beast, and then while he was in the middle of building a house, the little brat had shown up just to watch him embarrass himself!

Thinking about it made him angrier.

Madara raised his foot and kicked the villa’s front door clean off.

BOOM!

“Brat! Do you need anything else?! If not, this old man is going to sleep!”

Hirofumi Ito, of course, had no intention of letting Madara go off to sleep just like that, after all, Madara had previously promised to teach him.

Sure, his father, his grandfather Aoyama Ito, and Ichito Tairiku were all jonin, but compared to Madara Uchiha?

There was simply no comparison!

So Hirofumi followed Madara straight into the villa like he owned the place…

He was genuinely curious about this Summoning Space.

Inside it, he was essentially a god, a creator with absolute dominion.

If he wanted to, he could suppress Madara Uchiha effortlessly right here.

And he could conjure anything he wished within this space with ease, though only within this space.

Taking anything created inside the Summoning Space out into the real world?

Not possible.

Right now, the villa’s interior was completely bare.

Nothing inside, not even basic furnishings.

Hirofumi Ito simply snapped his fingers again.

Tables, chairs, sofas, coffee tables, all manner of things began appearing throughout the villa one after another.

Madara watched from the side, genuinely curious.

He could sense absolutely no flow of Chakra.

That meant everything had materialized out of thin air.

Truly a remarkable ability.

This infuriating little brat was becoming harder and harder to read.

And why did he keep getting the feeling that he and this brat shared some sort of deep, inexplicable connection…

What on earth was going on?!

If the brat’s surname were Uchiha, that would at least make some sense.

But his surname was Ito, a name that had absolutely nothing to do with the Uchiha Clan!

So where was this strange feeling coming from?

After all manner of furniture had appeared, a dining table materialized next, and various dishes of food began to fill it one after another.

Madara’s current state was no different from being truly alive.

His body was entirely physical, and the moment the food appeared, the smell hit him instantly.

“Brat… you can even conjure food?!”

“Mm-hm!” Hirofumi said nothing, just gave a small affirming sound and raised an eyebrow.

“Tch!”

Madara felt a flicker of irritation.

Hirofumi paid him no attention and had already settled into a seat at the table…

“Madara, come eat!”

“Hmph! Insolent brat — you think you can tempt this old man with a bit of food?! Then this old man can only tell you that you’re dreaming. This old man is the great Madara Uchiha, the Demon of the Shinobi World! You think some strange and exotic food is enough to make this old man feel grateful to you?! This old man is telling you — impossible! Absolutely impossible! This old man would sooner throw himself off the roof of this villa and smash into the ground right here than eat a single bite of your food!”

Gurgle…

A strange sound rang out.

Hirofumi Ito stared at Madara’s stomach with a peculiar look.

Madara felt a hot wave of shame.

He’d just finished that whole speech, and now his stomach had to go and betray him like this?!

The hell!

Back in the day, what kind of fine food had this old man not seen?!

But it seemed like he truly had never laid eyes on whatever this little brat had conjured up. This chapter was taken from g.com without permission.

What even were these dishes?

Why did they all look so strange…

And this smell…

it actually smelled incredible!

“Madara, stop being so prickly! It’s just a meal — what’s the big deal? And I never said I was trying to buy you over with one dinner! Sure, becoming my summoned beast probably feels humiliating to you, probably feels like an insult, but I haven’t forced you to do a single thing for me, have I? Between us there’s only a summoning contract. I can’t compel you to do anything unless you agree to it yourself! Besides, you’ve come back to life. You’re a fully living, breathing person now. If you don’t eat, you’ll starve.”

“Hmph! This old man, starve?! Laughable! There are plenty of animals around here. At worst, this old man will go hunt a couple down himself. Wouldn’t roasted meat be far better than whatever this stuff of yours is?!”

Hearing that, Hirofumi Ito simply extended one hand in an open, gracious gesture…

“Then suit yourself!”

In truth, Hirofumi understood perfectly.

A powerful figure like Madara Uchiha carried immense inner pride, becoming his summoned beast was something Madara found almost impossible to accept.

But Madara had no way out of it.

The Summoning System’s power was something he couldn’t resist, and he had no way to strike at Hirofumi directly.

Hirofumi had never intended to order him around in the first place, and more to the point, even if he did give an order, Madara simply wouldn’t listen…

So getting on good terms with this prickly, stubborn Madara Uchiha first was clearly the smarter move.

He did have ideas when it came to the future.

Real plans.

And those plans couldn’t be carried out without powerful figures backing him up.

The powerful figures he could summon through the Summoning System were his greatest assets.

As for the Hidden Leaf Village, that was his base of operations.

First, build a faction of his own.

Then become Hokage, using the Hidden Leaf as his foundation.

Add these once-mighty legendary figures to the equation, and he would swallow the entire Shinobi World whole.

When that day came, he could crown himself the eternal ruler of the ninja world…

Chapter 16 – Madara Uchiha’s Dream

Madara Uchiha caught Hirofumi Ito’s gesture, gave a cold snort, and walked out of the villa.

Hirofumi Ito stayed behind, utterly unhurried, working his way through a spread of food.

He had to admit, this space was something else.

Every dish he’d conjured from thin air was flawless: color, aroma, taste, all of it top-tier.

Honestly, he hadn’t even had a plan going in.

He’d just rattled off a string of lines from memory.

Steamed lamb, steamed bear paw, steamed deer tail, roast duck, roast young chicken, roast gosling, braised pork, braised duck, soy-sauce chicken, cured meat, pine-flower egg, stuffed tripe, air-dried meat, sausage, assorted vegetarian platter…

And then all of it simply appeared.

Madara moved fast.

Moments later he came hauling back a fully dressed leg of lamb.

Raw power really did make everything easier.

And judging by the look of it, he’d already roasted the thing with Fire Release ninjutsu before he even carried it back.

He stared at the enormous spread covering Hirofumi Ito’s table, every kind of food imaginable, then looked back down at the lamb leg in his own hand, charred black in patches from his own Fire Release.

For a moment, Madara Uchiha had a powerful urge to hurl the damn thing across the room.

Damn it all!

Why had he never bothered to learn how to cook?!

Back with the Uchiha Clan, servants had always handled everything.

During his time in the Hidden Leaf Village, he’d never once set foot in a kitchen either.

Servants prepared his meals, and whenever he had nothing to do, he’d go freeload off that blockhead Hashirama Senju.

Hashirama was a complete blockhead, sure, but one had to admit that Mito Uzumaki’s cooking was genuinely delicious.

And it hadn’t just been him, either.

Even that wicked Tobirama Senju would regularly show up to mooch a meal.

Thinking back on all of it, Madara Uchiha took a fierce bite of the roasted lamb leg.

PTOOEY!

The damn thing was burnt to a crisp.

“Pfft — hahahahaha!”

Hirofumi Ito was gnawing on a bear paw, and he simply could not hold it in.

“You insufferable little brat! What the hell are you laughing at?!”

“Madara!

Stop being so prickly.

I genuinely just wanted to treat you to a meal, why make things hard on yourself?!

“And I never had any intention of using this meal to get something out of you. To be honest, I actually admire you quite a bit. Not just because of your strength, because of your ideals.”

Hirofumi Ito wasn’t just saying that.

Back when he used to watch the Naruto anime, he’d genuinely liked Madara Uchiha as a character, because Madara had this uniquely captivating kind of charisma that nobody else could match.

It was what he believed.

Anyone who’d watched the anime knew that deep down, Madara Uchiha genuinely yearned for peace.

He wouldn’t have joined hands with Hashirama Senju to end the age of war and found the Hidden Leaf Village otherwise.

In their youth, the greatest dream the two of them shared was simple: build a village where people could live in peace.

Where young children no longer had to march off to war.

Where ordinary people had a safe place to call home.

Hirofumi Ito had sometimes found himself wondering, if Madara Uchiha had been the First Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village, would all the disasters that followed have ever happened?

There was even a real chance that the Shinobi World could have achieved total unification right then and there.

After all, Madara and Hashirama together had fully possessed the capability and the raw power to bring the entire Shinobi World to heel.

All they’d have needed to do was wipe out the defiant, consolidate every village and every nation, with Susanoo wrapping the Buddha, who could have stood against that?!

It was a shame that Hashirama Senju was far too merciful.

Or rather, far too much of a blockhead.

He believed that kindness and tolerance could buy peace.

That was laughable beyond all measure.

If that approach had actually worked, how could so many wars have broken out afterward?!

And even when Madara had schemed toward his own resurrection, his ultimate goal had been nothing more than realizing final peace for the Shinobi World.

It was just a terrible shame that he’d been played for a fool by that treacherous schemer Black Zetsu.

Madara froze at Hirofumi Ito’s words.

His gaze shifted, dark and unreadable, as he looked over.

“You speak of this old man’s ideals?! Heh… You think you know this old man’s ideals?”

The faint mockery in Madara’s voice didn’t rush Hirofumi Ito at all.

He cracked open a bottle of soda, took a light sip, then looked up at Madara and began to speak quietly.

“People do not love only their own parents, nor cherish only their own children. The elderly are given a peaceful end, the able-bodied are put to good use, the young are raised to grow, and the widowed, the lonely, the orphaned, the disabled, and the sick are all cared for.”

He hadn’t answered Madara’s question directly.

He’d borrowed a passage from the “Operation of the Great Way” in the Book of Rites, and he laid it down word by word.

As he spoke, Madara Uchiha’s expression moved through a transformation.

Contempt first.

Then surprise.

Then outright shock.

Even the hand gripping the lamb leg was trembling.

Earlier, this brat had said he intended to unify the Shinobi World.

At the time, Madara had dismissed it as the arrogance of an ignorant kid with a lucky break.

He couldn’t make heads or tails of whatever technique this brat used to summon the dead, but the same question applied either way: on what grounds would those former souls obey some little brat?!

Why would once-mighty warriors take orders from him?!

On what basis?!

Because he thought he was somebody?!

So Madara hadn’t taken a single word of it seriously.

Just another fool who’d stumbled into some rare opportunity and let it go straight to his head.

But now, those words hit him somewhere deep, and Madara Uchiha began, truly, for the first time, to look at the brat sitting in front of him.

Because what this brat had just described was exactly the dream he and Hashirama Senju had carried since childhood.

He had left the Hidden Leaf Village.

But that dream — the one he and that blockhead had shared when they were young — he had never once forgotten it.

The world this brat was describing…

could it actually exist?

He was still reeling when Hirofumi Ito’s voice came again.

“Madara, what do you say? Care to do me the honor of sharing a meal?”

Madara Uchiha looked at him for a long moment, then clicked his tongue.

“Tch… What an interesting little brat you are.”

He hurled the burnt lamb leg away, walked over, and sat down.
