The year is Konoha 56.
It was noon, and the sun hung high in the sky.
The continuous chirping of cicadas filled the air, making the sweltering heat even more irritating.
At the village entrance, Shiranui Genma, chewing lazily on a senbon, was bored out of his mind.
Hearing the rumbling of approaching wheels, he drooped his eyelids and looked over.
Inside the carriage, a handsome man pulled back the curtain.
His clear, black-and-white eyes glanced at Shiranui Genma as he handed over his pass.
It was supposed to be a routine inspection, but when Genma saw the traveler’s name, his senbon dropped from his mouth in utter shock, hitting the ground with a sharp clink.
After a brief silence, the man gently asked if he could enter.
“Of course!
Please…
right this way!”
The previously indifferent Shiranui Genma instantly became deeply respectful, bowing slightly to welcome him into Konoha.
His companion on the side was thoroughly confused, wondering what kind of grand figure could make Shiranui Genma act so deferential.
“Idiot!
That person is…”
Genma picked up his senbon from the ground, wiped it clean with absolute seriousness, and only felt a bit more at ease after popping it back into his mouth.
“That is the famous doctor whose medical skills are said to surpass even Lady Tsunade—Lord Asahi Yasuka!”
Inside the carriage, Yasuka casually tossed the pass into his suitcase and looked at the seven- or eight-year-old little lolita beside him.
He told her to wait in the carriage for a moment while he went to see the Third Hokage.
“Understood, Lord Yasuka.”
The little lolita’s fair, clean face was filled with seriousness, desperately trying not to disappoint Yasuka.
“I’ve told you, you don’t need to call me ‘Lord’…”
“Yes!
Lord Yasuka!”
“…”
After pinching and rubbing the little lolita’s face until it turned bright red, Yasuka finally walked into the Hokage Residence, wondering in exasperation who she had learned that from.
Along the way, he faintly sensed that someone was tailing him, but he didn’t pay it any mind.
He shared a bloodline connection with the Daimyo of the Land of Fire.
Although the relationship was incredibly distant, he still held noble status.
Facing ninjas and commoners, this status gave him a natural advantage.
Not only that, but he was also a divine doctor; whether it was a severed limb, a terminal illness, or even erectile dysfunction, he could cure it all.
Over the years, as he traveled through various countries, the number of influential figures he had treated was countless.
To put it bluntly, anywhere in the shinobi world, if he said, “Give me some face,” even a resurrected God of Shinobi would have to back down three paces.
Arriving outside the office, Yasuka was blocked by an Anbu member, who stated that the Hokage was busy with important matters and asked him to wait a moment.
Taking advantage of this break, Yasuka opened his system panel.
Looking at the progress bars for the Twelve Talismans, he felt a bit of a headache.
He was a transmigrator equipped with his own cheat, which allowed him to unlock the Twelve Talismans by disrupting the plot.
But the problem was…
he didn’t actually watch Naruto!
He only knew a few memes and tropes, like “I am the Hokage,” “You will regret this,” as well as things like the “Hokage of Pots” (Danzo), Konoha’s darkness, and Konoha’s friendship.
Furthermore, the progress bar advancement was incredibly abstract.
Relying initially on the Horse Talisman from the starter pack, Yasuka had traveled across the entire shinobi world just to barely unlock the full Horse Talisman and half of the Snake Talisman.
Horse Talisman (100%): Heals any illness or injury that is not instantly fatal, and can expel any foreign external force from the body according to the user’s will.
Snake Talisman (50%): Invisibility completely covers all flaws and prevents the user from being locked onto.
Next stage unlock: Invisibility grants intangibility, making the user untargetable and letting them completely ignore any attack.
Aside from the Horse and Snake Talismans, the others were only at 10%, or even 7% and 8% progress, nowhere near the 25% required to unlock them.
Therefore, to find a way to accelerate his talisman acquisition, and also wanting a place to rest, Yasuka had accepted the Third Hokage’s invitation and decided to temporarily settle down in Konoha.
Within moments, the door opened.
The Third Hokage’s old face wrinkled up like a blooming chrysanthemum as he apologized and invited Yasuka inside.
He explained that he had been busy with some matters and hadn’t realized the divine doctor had arrived, which was why he had left Yasuka waiting outside.
Yasuka didn’t mind and straightforwardly asked the Third Hokage what he needed help with.
Hearing Yasuka’s direct question, the Third Hokage’s old face flushed.
He waved his hand to dismiss all the Anbu before whispering softly:
“Divine Doctor, my body has been failing me lately.
Can you…
well, can you help me return to my peak?”
Yasuka wasn’t surprised.
Pretending to ponder for a moment, he asked for paper and penned down a prescription.
He stated that by gathering the medicine according to this formula and pairing it with his special course of treatment, the Hokage would fully recover in a few months.
Although he could have cured him instantly using the Horse Talisman, Yasuka chose not to.
After all, he had to let the client experience the process.
Otherwise, people would inevitably think it was too easy and feel like they were being cheated.
Hearing Yasuka’s words, the Third Hokage nodded repeatedly, completely unconcerned with how long the treatment would take.
After all, this was the divine doctor, whose reputation was golden.
In the future, if the village’s ninjas ran into any major disasters, they would have to rely on this man.
If he were poached by Kumogakure or some other village, Konoha would surely be blamed for mistreating him, and public outrage alone would drown the Hokage.
“By the way, where is Minato’s grave?
I’d like to pay my respects.”
Yasuka asked softly.
Back when he had first decided to be a traveling doctor, he had received plenty of care from Minato, who was still a Chunin at the time.
Whenever Yasuka traveled out of town, he would specifically request Minato as his bodyguard.
The two were close, old friends.
However, during the Nine-Tails incident, Yasuka was being entertained by the Raikage in the Land of Lightning, and the local Daimyo had also invited him for treatment.
This caused him to miss a whole chunk of the plot.
Now that he was settling in Konoha, it was only natural to visit him.
The Third Hokage readily agreed and arranged for an Anbu member wearing a rabbit mask to ensure Yasuka’s safety.
Leaving the Hokage building, Yasuka saw Haku holding the luggage and waiting for him.
He walked up and ruffled her hair.
“Could I trouble you to have someone drop the luggage off at my estate?
I plan to walk around with my disciple first,” Yasuka said to the rabbit-masked Anbu beside him.
The next second, an Anbu member wearing a fox mask appeared, took the luggage, bowed slightly to Yasuka, and vanished in a flicker of body flicker technique.
“The service is quite thorough,” Yasuka couldn’t help but marvel.
Still, he didn’t feel it was unearned; after all, he had built his reputation step by step on his own merits.
Holding Haku’s soft, little hand, Yasuka followed the rabbit Anbu to a flower shop.
“Welcome!”
A little blonde lolita immediately stepped forward.
The moment she saw Yasuka’s handsome face, she couldn’t help but daze off.
“Hello, little sister.
Could you prepare some flowers suitable for honoring the deceased?” Yasuka asked gently.
Only then did the little lolita snap out of her trance.
Blushing furiously, she gave Yasuka a well-informed recommendation.
Yasuka didn’t haggle over the price.
After buying a bouquet, he thanked the little girl and prepared to leave.
“Um!
I…
my name is Ino, Yamanaka Ino!
May I know your name, big brother?”
Seeing Yasuka about to leave, Ino finally couldn’t resist chasing after him to ask for his name.
Yasuka didn’t hide it either.
After sharing his name with Ino, he departed.
Watching Ino act this way, Haku knit her delicate brows slightly.
But as a mere tool, she had no right to judge her master’s actions.
After buying the flowers, Yasuka was heading toward the cemetery to visit Minato when a noisy commotion suddenly erupted in the distance.
By the time Yasuka squeezed through the crowd, he discovered a little twin-tailed lolita with whisker marks on her cheeks sobbing, while a middle-aged woman next to her was loudly shouting the words “demon fox.”
