“Changed yet? Ready to start filming?”

Li Yan pushed the door open from outside, followed by a tall, handsome figure.

Lin Xiyu was startled at the sight of the newcomer, her heart racing wildly as she instinctively covered her chest with her hand.

Gu Bin’s heart, too, seemed struck by an electric current the moment he saw her, throbbing intensely several times. An unprecedented emotion filled his chest, rapidly spreading throughout his entire body.

“Tsk tsk, I never would’ve guessed, little sister. Only eighteen and already so well-developed—even I’m a bit jealous.”

Having worked at the television station for years, Li Yan had seen it all. Ignoring Lin Xiyu’s embarrassment, she chuckled and moved closer to her chest, reaching out a hand as if to pinch.

“This outfit won’t do.”

Gu Bin interrupted her ill intentions with a dark expression, striding forward in a few steps to pull Lin Xiyu behind him.

“Why not?”

Li Yan, thwarted, withdrew her hand awkwardly, displeasure evident in her eyes.

Gu Bin was succinct: “The neckline is too low. It doesn’t suit her.”

“What’s the big deal?”

Li Yan brushed it off: “Female celebrities all dress like this. Besides, this outfit is very high-end—both the craftsmanship and the fabric are excellent. It’s perfect for a formal interview in the studio.”

“She’s not a celebrity.”

Gu Bin stood his ground: “No need for cheap tricks to attract attention.”

“Ahem.”

Li Yan was left speechless, her breath catching slightly.

“Um, Sister Yan…”

Lin Xiyu peeked out from behind Gu Bin, timidly voicing her opinion: “Actually, I also think this outfit isn’t quite right for me. The waist is too tight—it’s squeezing me so hard I can barely breathe.”

Li Yan: “……..”

Gu Bin: “……..”

Both turned simultaneously to look at her waist.

The next second, Gu Bin’s ears flushed bright red, and he abruptly averted his gaze.

Thanks to Gu Bin’s insistence, the low-cut dress was eventually changed.

The stylist picked out another elegant and flowing dress for Lin Xiyu.

A white, loose-fit short-sleeved blouse with an ingenious design at the front—two extended ribbons tied into a bow—paired with a knee-length, white-based, blue-flowered chiffon skirt, made the young girl appear exceptionally light and lively.

“This is the one.”

A flash of admiration crossed Gu Bin’s eyes as he nodded in satisfaction.

Lin Xiyu looked at herself in the mirror for a while, also finding it quite beautiful. She lifted the hem of the skirt and happily twirled around a few times.

Gu Bin’s eyebrows lifted slightly, a peculiar brightness flickering in his clear, cool eyes.

The studio.

Li Yan acted as the host, conducting an impromptu interview: “Before jumping into the river to save someone, did you consider the danger to yourself?”

“I didn’t think that much. I heard the child crying, got carried away, and just jumped in.”

Lin Xiyu felt a bit restrained facing the camera, her adorably clueless expression eliciting a wave of light laughter from the documentary crew.

“What about the college entrance exam? Did you think about that?”

Li Yan also smiled, guiding her patiently: “After all, the college entrance exam isn’t like other tests—missing it is a once-in-a-lifetime thing…”

“No.”

Lin Xiyu answered honestly: “In that situation, there really wasn’t time to think. I suppose it was just following my instincts—my body reacted before my brain did. By the time I realized what I was doing, I was already in the water…”

“Heh.”

Another wave of soft laughter rippled through the studio.

The cameraman smoothly zoomed in, capturing an enlarged close-up of her face.

Gu Bin stood before the camera monitor, watching the girl’s fresh-faced beauty on screen—completely free of makeup—as an unusual brilliance flickered in his eyes.
