The campus was crowded, making it unsuitable for cycling. Gu Bin pushed his bicycle and followed the flow of people out of the main gate.

A female reporter from the television station was interviewing students who had just finished their exams. Spotting him, her eyes lit up, and she rushed over with her microphone.

Gu Bin naturally stopped, ready to be interviewed.Full novel: Nineties: The Spring Water Family — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Having been a top student since childhood and representing the school in various activities thanks to his outstanding appearance, he was accustomed to such scenes.

Quickly organizing his thoughts, he was about to flash his usual polite and charming smile at the camera when the female reporter suddenly changed direction, bustling past him with her microphone.

Gu Bin: “………”

This was a bit awkward.

“How was the exam? Did it go smoothly?”

The female reporter beamed like a blooming flower as she ran toward Lin Xiyu, who had just arrived.

“It was alright, pretty smooth.”

Lin Xiyu braked her bicycle, her eyelids twitching slightly at the sight of the reporter.

The words “Why are you still here?” were clearly written all over her face.

“Here’s the thing, classmate.”

The reporter smiled warmly and got straight to the point: “Let me reintroduce myself. I’m Li Yan from the Jinan Television Spring Water Family Program Group. We plan to film a documentary about the real lives of people in courtyard homes before the old city undergoes demolition and renovation.”

“The director saw the footage of you rescuing someone in the moat this morning and thought you’d be perfect for a cameo role in the documentary. He specifically asked us to wait here to seek your opinion…”

“Film a documentary? Me, really?”

The surprise was so sudden that Lin Xiyu stammered elegantly.

“Yes.”

Li Yan gave her an encouraging look: “No need to doubt it. You heard right—it’s you.”

“Gu Bin, is this real? Am I dreaming?”

Still unable to believe it, Lin Xiyu instinctively turned to the only person she knew nearby.

“Are you really from the television station?”

Gu Bin met the girl’s pure, deer-like innocent gaze, and his heartstrings felt as if lightly brushed by a feather. For some reason, a strange thought crossed his mind.

This girl is so naive she’s a bit foolish. She needs to be watched carefully so no one tricks her.

“You two know each other?”

Hearing his blunt question, Li Yan wasn’t offended but rather pleased: “Young man, you have a great look too, very fitting for a role in the documentary. Would you be interested in making a cameo as well?”

Gu Bin narrowed his eyes, considering the possibility of taking on a cameo role.

“He can do it too?”

Lin Xiyu felt a small thrill: “Film the documentary with me?”

“Absolutely.”

Li Yan nodded with a smile: “Not just you two—we’ll need quite a few extras. Your classmates, friends, and relatives all have the chance to make cameo appearances in the documentary…”

“Really? That’s fantastic!”

Lin Xiyu jumped for joy, her bright eyes sparkling with unconcealed excitement and happiness.

The girl’s thoughts were plainly written on her face.

It seemed to say, “Say yes, say yes! If you agree, we can be on TV and film a documentary, just like those celebrities.”

Gu Bin saw right through her little scheme, and the strange thought that had popped into his mind grew stronger.

This matter still depended on him.

Without his support, this girl really might get herself tricked and sold.

“Gu Bin?”

Seeing he didn’t respond, Lin Xiyu asked directly, “Are you willing to film a documentary?”

“What about you?”

Gu Bin raised an eyebrow, answering her question with another.

“I do.”

Lin Xiyu nodded honestly. After thinking for a moment, she added, “I’ll film if you film. You’re smarter—following you is always the right move.”
