“Zhang Momo, does the lady really have a brain condition?”

“Shh, don’t listen to those nonsense rumors outside!”

The elderly maidservant walking ahead glanced at the anxious young maid. “The lady just has somewhat unstable moods, that’s all. She’s quite easy to manage.”Full novel: Not Parting? You Won’t Even Let Go of a Mental Patient? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Really?

Calling a grown adult… easy to manage?

“Don’t worry, the lady still maintains necessary common sense. For example: she doesn’t eat feces.”

How was she supposed to respond to that?

Was she expected to praise: Wow~ The lady doesn’t eat feces, how wonderful.

Hearing Momma’s explanation that only made things more suspicious, the young maid became certain of one thing.

The rumor about the lady having a brain condition was absolutely true!!!

“The lady is very beautiful. You’ll like her once you see her. But you must be careful not to let anyone wearing white clothes approach the lady…” Zhang Momo continued chattering.

The young maid followed nervously behind Zhang Momo, terrified that some disheveled, gorilla-like lady might jump out from somewhere and shove bananas up her nostrils.

Yet everything remained quiet even after they entered Crabapple Courtyard.

Zhang Momo immediately began calling out while searching everywhere.

“Lady! Where are you?”

“Lady, I can see you now, come out quickly!”

She looked under the stone table in the pavilion, in the flower beds, behind doors, inside cabinets, even pulling aside the gauze curtains in the corridor to check. She even lifted the lid of the teapot on the table to peer inside…

The young maid watching from behind was utterly dumbfounded.

She kind of wanted to turn around and run away. What was going on?

Momma hadn’t mentioned this condition might be contagious before she came!

Who looks for people inside teapots?

Couldn’t Zhang Momo see that lump under the bed covers?

If only she hadn’t transferred here!

Was it too late to regret this now?

…

Meanwhile, Lin Yu’er was listening intently to the noises outside while wrapped in her quilt.

Hearing the footsteps fade away, she poked her head out to look around.

After confirming no one was there, she grabbed her quilt, jumped off the bed, picked up the teapot and poured water directly into her mouth.

After gulping down the water in one go, she pulled the quilt over her head again and dashed outside.

“Those cunning humans, saying they could see me – they just wanted to trick me into coming out! Hmph, good thing I’m smart!”

The smart Lin Yu’er ran to the doorway, forgetting she had covered her head. Then, she stepped on the quilt, tripped over the threshold, and went flying out of the quilt, landing headfirst in the flower bed.

The young maid outside the room was about to go help when Zhang Momo stopped her.

“Zhang Momo, aren’t we going to help the lady up?”

Zhang Momo shushed the young maid again. “The lady hasn’t delivered her final line yet.”

“Final line?”

“Yes.”

Zhang Momo seriously instructed the new maid:

“Only when the lady delivers her line will we know her current identity. Otherwise, if we approach as strangers, she’ll immediately classify us as enemies! To properly care for the lady, we must be very precise about this!”

The young maid was completely confused.

The lady’s identity?

Wasn’t she just the mistress of the marquis’ household? What else was there?

Zhang Momo gave her a knowing look: Don’t rush.

“Trust me! I have thirty years of clinical experience!”

Zhang Momo, named Zhang Qiu.

Was the director of Red Star Mental Hospital, and also served as Lin Yu’er’s attending physician!

Half a month ago, Lin Yu’er mysteriously disappeared. The entire mental hospital had been searched from top to bottom, but she was nowhere to be found.

She had assumed Lin Yu’er had simply escaped from the mental hospital, so she filed a report, notified the family, and left it at that. Little did she expect that very night, she would dream of Lin Yu’er running amok in an ancient, classical world.

She had merely muttered, “These ancient folks are so pitiful. Isn’t anyone going to do something about Lin Yu’er?”

And just like that, she found herself transported, becoming the very person sent to manage her.

No one understood Lin Yu’er’s condition better than her, the attending physician!

Sure enough, after crawling out from the flowerbed, Lin Yu’er spat out the leaves in her mouth in a furious rage.

“I, the daughter of the Demon Lord, the next heir to the Demon Realm, will absolutely not trip over the same spot twice! Just wait! I’m returning to the Demon Realm now to gather my demon warriors! We will trample this place flat!”

Lin Yu’er stood up, struck a pose, and hopped a few times on the spot.

A young maid watched with curiosity. “What is Madam doing?”

Zhang Momo replied impassively, “Casting a spell to return to the Demon Realm!”

The maid’s eyes widened as if witnessing something extraordinary. “Did she succeed?”

Zhang Momo gave her a strange look.

The maid immediately covered her mouth.

“Let’s go. It’s time for us to make our entrance.”

“Watch how I handle this. You’ll know what to do next time.”

“Yes.”

…

Lin Yu’er was still hopping around, growing increasingly anxious as she failed to return to the Demon Realm.

Just then, two humanoid figures approached her.

Lin Yu’er instantly became highly alert, staring intently at the two.

Zhang Momo, however, knelt at a respectful distance, projecting an image of utter loyalty mixed with regret and self-reproach.

“Your Highness, the Demon Princess! Your subordinate has arrived late to your rescue!”

“Arrived late,” the young maid echoed.

Lin Yu’er paused mid-pose.

“You know my identity? It seems you are warriors from my Demon Realm, but why are there only two of you?!”

The maid glanced at Zhang Momo: How do we explain this?

Zhang Momo spoke unhurriedly, “Upon hearing Your Highness’s summons, we rushed here in haste to rescue you! However, there was an issue with the Teleportation Array, and the other magic weapon bearers have gone missing. They might… they might have already…”

Seeing Zhang Momo wink at her, the maid quickly added, “They might have been completely wiped out.”

Lin Yu’er: “So now, my Demon Realm army consists of just the two of you?”

Zhang Momo said sorrowfully, “That is indeed the case.”

Lin Yu’er looked heartbroken. “They sacrificed themselves to come to my rescue. I, Niohuru Bulalar Pokémon Lin Yu’er, will remember them forever!”

She somehow produced a handful of daisies, tore the petals to shreds, and scattered them into the air.

White petals fluttered down like snow.

Seizing the opportunity, Zhang Momo stood up and said, “Your Highness, we are isolated and without support now. This world is full of dangers and hidden threats at every turn. We must lie low and wait for the Teleportation Array to be reconstructed.”

Lin Yu’er stood up, shaking the petals off her long skirt.

“You are absolutely right! I am the strongest heir of the demon race! I cannot be defeated by mere difficulties!”

Lin Yu’er broke off a flower branch and slowly tucked it into her hair bun, stroking it gracefully like a noblewoman.

“From today onward, neither of you shall address me as Demon Princess. I am the wife of Marquis Zhaoping, Lin Yu’er!”

The little maid looked at Zhang Momo with astonishment: “Just like that, we’re back on track? Zhang Momo is amazing!”

Lin Yu’er pointed at Zhang Momo: “You are called…”

“Yes. This old servant’s surname is Zhang, I am Madam’s personal Momma…”

Lin Yu’er quickly spoke before the little maid could report her name: “You shall be called Du Du. Repeated characters, so cute.”

The little maid performed a salute with a face full of despair: “This maid… Du Du, thanks Madam for bestowing the name.”

Lin Yu’er waited quite satisfied for her to finish the salute.

Then, she patted her noble belly: “Zhang Momo, it’s hungry.”

“Yes, this old servant will immediately summon the meal, guaranteeing it contains Madam’s favorite Demon Clan Local Specialties!”

“Mm, you’re quite good.”

After saying this, Lin Yu’er directly collapsed.
