Chapter 25 – “It’s Tactical… Right?”

“Of course I picked the Harem-Master subclass. …Yeah. I know how that sounds.”

If yesterday was a stumble through brambles, the next few days become a dance.

With Raka at the front—moonlit fury Savage—she carves a path through the Bushmen groves like a storm given form. Her new Moonfang instincts turn her into a living wall; vines snap and thorns shatter against her heavy hide armor as her war axe cleaves through tangles like rotten rope. Every time an Elder swings its spiked tendrils, she’s there, shield braced, teeth bared in a savage grin.

Kit becomes a phantom among the leaves, Echo Step through the shadows, spectral armor shimmering faintly like midnight glass as her Spirit Blades flicker and hum. When she strikes, it’s silent and swift—daggers sliding through bark and sinew as if the forest itself yields to her.

And me.

Lightning dances at my fingertips, spear humming with smite as I unleash arcs of stormfire into clustered mobs. Thunderwave booms like a god’s heartbeat, scattering vine‑brutes so Kit can gut them. Every spell sings power through my bones… and every surge reminds me of the bond—the three of us moving as one, mana flowing like blood through a shared heart.

Even Ed plays his part.

Not with raw strength—he’ll never match Raka—but with eerie precision. He harasses flanks, drags Bushmen off balance with Thornlash, and always, always steps in when someone might fall. When Kit takes a hard thorn‑gash across her ribs, Ed is simply there, skeletal frame interposing, roses dripping sap‑blood where they tear, ready to take the next hit.

By sundown on the third day, the deeper groves are a massacre of green and crimson. Thorn‑limbs litter the moss like broken spears.

Breathless, sticky with sap and sweat.

We gather loot and tally kills.

XP flows like silvers across my HUD:

LEVEL UP!

Me: 18 – Harem-Master powers deepen. Aura radius expands, and new bond skills flicker at the edge of my vision like whispered promises.

Kit: 18 – Spirit Blades, now with reduced mana cost. She grins when she reads it, amber eyes gleaming wickedly.

Raka: 18 – Her Moonfang aura swells, raw dominance radiating from her towering frame. When she howls under the blood‑red sunset, the forest quiets.

And Ed?

He doesn’t level.

He just stands in the crimson light at day’s end, roses trembling, and whispers the same word as always:

“Love.”

On the fourth day, we begin pushing into the deepest parts of Bushmen Forest.

The deeper we go, the more the forest changes.

Roots coil like snakes beneath our boots.

Thorned branches clutch and scrape at armor and skin.

The air grows thicker, heavier—breathing slow, watching us.

Bushmen don’t wander alone anymore.

They move in packs now—organized, deliberate—their glowing vine-veins pulsing in rhythm like a single organism.

After a full morning of hunting, Raka pauses to tighten the straps of her Starburst Shield against her arm. Its polished metal gleams beneath layers of blood and sap, the radiant sigil etched into its surface humming faintly with protective magic. When the light catches it, it flares—like a shard of sun cutting through the canopy.

Kit eyes it with a low whistle.

“That thing’s going to blind someone before you even hit them, Raka.”

The wolfkin grins, baring fangs.

“Good. Let them stare.”

She slams the shield once against the haft of her axe.

The sound rings out like a war drum.

We press deeper.

The forest tightens around us again—roots shifting, branches reaching, the ground uneven with old growth and something older beneath it. The rhythm of those pulsing vine-veins returns, faint but unmistakable.

Kit moves.

Her spectral armor shimmers faintly as she slips into the shadows—more absence than presence in the green gloom.

“Four… no, five,” her voice brushes my mind through the bond.

Raka lowers into a crouch ahead, Starburst Shield catching just enough light to gleam like a buried star. I feel her anticipation through the bond—a predator coiled tight, ready to spring.

“The first skirmishes are brutal—

but effective.”

Our formation is working.

As the sun burns the last of the day away, we see something new.

Through the choking vines, a stone ruin rises like a broken rib cage in the forest. Half-sunken archways and shattered pillars, every inch crawling with green corruption. Bushmen swarm the place like guardians of some buried god.

In the center stands a monolithic stone altar crusted in moss. It hums. I feel it before I hear it—a vibration in my teeth—through the bond with Kit and Raka. The ring on my hand throbs once, like a heartbeat.

Kit breathes, “That’s… not normal.”

Raka’s ears flatten. “Feels wrong. Feels strong.”

We gauge the ruins, and the ugly fight they promise. Monstrous Elders, thorn variants, and a handful of standard Bushmen… all entrenched around the structure like it’s sacred.

With our resources depleted so late in the day—mana low, bodies aching, exhaustion creeping in—we pause.

Smart enough to see the importance of the ruins.

Wise enough not to charge in recklessly.

We call it.

We fall back—out of the woods, across the road, into the clearing we’ve called home for nearly a week.

We tear free of clawing thorns, hauling ourselves into the safe clearing just beyond the hunting-ground perimeter.

The three of us collapse in the fading light.

Sweat-soaked. Breathing hard.

Everyone’s low—HP in the green but barely, my mana flirting with the red zone.

The safe zone feels refreshing against our bodies, like stepping out of a storm—if only for a moment.

Kit unstraps her daggers, wiping green ichor off her glowing arms. She blows out a breath and mutters, “Master… next time? Let’s bring an army.”

Raka sets the Starburst Shield down with a heavy thud, claws flexing, muscles taut beneath her armor. “Or burn it to the roots,” she growls. Her eyes find mine—serious, steady. “Whatever’s in that ruin… it’s what the Bushmen are guarding. And it wants us to try.”

Ed sits cross‑legged by the fire like a grotesque monk, roses blooming slowly in the gaps of his ribs. He tilts his skull toward me, petals trembling.

“…Heart…”

The word drifts out like dry wind through thorns.

Raka crosses her arms, claws tapping on her bicep, eyes glowing faintly in the dusk. “One night. Here. Then we take their… heart.” Her voice is steel, but exhaustion bleeds through the bond. She wants this fight… but she also wants her pack alive.

Ed looks up, plucking thorns from his arm that aren’t his own. His skull tilts toward me.

“…Stay.” The word comes out as a whisper. Then softer: “…Heart waits.”

The fire pops. The forest whispers. The ruin hums like something breathing.

I exhale. “We stay. Set up the tent. Heal up with the Harem Bed buff. Ed keeps watch.”

Kit releases a slow breath of relief, tension easing in the bond like a pulled thread slackening. “Knew you’d take care of us,” she murmurs, voice low, already clearing brush for the tent.

Raka drops into a crouch beside me with a grunt, bracing the Starburst Shield upright like a sentinel. Her golden eyes are steady as she rumbles, “Ed stays up. We sleep deep. Tomorrow we bleed them dry.” There’s something primal in the way she says it—confidence wrapped in a low growl.

I glance at Ed.

The skeletal figure stands and walks silently to the edge of the road, thorns spiraling up his arms, roses glowing faintly in the moonlight like living embers. His head tilts, then clicks once in what might almost be a nod.

“…Watching.”

The tent goes up fast. The air smells of damp earth and crushed leaves. By the time the flap closes behind us, the night feels heavier, quieter—like the forest knows we’ve dug in for the fight to come.

Kit dismisses her Spectral Armor, then peels off the leathers beneath with a flick of her fingers. She stretches languidly, a teasing little arch in her back as her claws graze the mat.

“Gods, my muscles are screaming.” Her eyes cut to me with that dangerous sparkle. “Mind helping me do something about that, Master?”

Raka chuckles low, shaking out her mane, her massive frame filling the tent with heat and presence. She slides out of her heavy hide gear piece by piece until it’s just white and silver fur and a predator’s grin.

“We earned this rest.”

The bedrolls fuse under the bond’s magic the second we all settle in—Harem Bed blooming like a secret. Heat rushes through my veins as the buff takes hold.

Kit curls against my chest, the soft brush of her tail draping low. Raka slides in behind me, an arm heavy across my waist, claws resting like velvet steel on my hip. For a while, it’s just quiet breathing, warm fur, and soft skin.

Mana hums back into me like a tide rolling in.

The aches start to fade.

So does restraint.

Fingers drift—Kit tracing idle circles on my chest, Raka’s muzzle brushing the back of my neck with a sound that’s half-purr, half-growl. Hands linger longer than they should. Curious. Testing. The night turns slow and sweet—breath hitching in the dark, hips brushing, a teasing graze of claws against my thigh. Nothing goes too far… but enough to spark a storm for later.

Outside, Ed stands like a thorned statue in the moonlight, roses glowing faintly, gaze fixed on the Bushman Forest treeline. The hum from beyond the trees never fades.

The tent feels small—not because of its size, but because of the heat the three of us bring inside. The air smells like crushed grass, leather, and a trace of wild musk from Raka’s fur.

Kit is the first to press into me like she’s claiming the space, shoulder and hip settling flush against mine as her breath leaves in a soft exhale.

Raka closes the gap fully, her heat at my back, her arm draping heavy across my waist as her mane spills over her bare shoulders. She works a kink from her neck, the ripple of muscle under white-silver fur impossible to ignore, then stills—anchored there, like she’s decided this is where she belongs.

I take them both in—my bond humming like a second heartbeat—and grin.

“You two… gods, you were incredible out there today,” I say, voice low but warm. “But if we’re going to rip that ruin apart tomorrow, we need to be more than ready.”

Kit glances up, sly as a dagger’s smile. “And what exactly are you suggesting, Master?”

I smirk, Smoldering Gaze fully on standby, before answering:

“I’m saying… full health, full mana, no excuses. That means…” My voice drops, velvet and suggestive in equal measure. “…not just snuggles. It means massages.”

Kit blinks, then laughs softly, biting her lip as her tail flicks hard. “Massages? Tactical massages, huh?”

I lean forward, letting playful authority settle into my tone like a blade sliding home.

“Exactly. Tactical.”

“Shirts off, ladies.”

Kit’s grin turns wicked as she hooks her thumbs under her top and peels it away, slow enough to make the moment burn. Her pale skin and swirling violet tattoos glow faint in the low light, her breasts rising and falling with a playful breath as she tosses the shirt aside.

“Hope you know what you’re doing, commander.”

Raka just chuckles, deep and warm like rolling thunder, before tugging at the ties of her shirt. When the heavy padding slips free, she’s nothing but white and silver fur and curves built for war and heat both. Her breasts—full, firm, dusted with fur—shift as she settles forward on all fours, then stretches out, working the tension from her back like a great wolf. She glances at me over her shoulder, molten eyes catching the light.

“Massage me then. Show me this… tactic.”

The Harem Bed hums beneath me, the bond surging as I kneel between them, strong hands finding aching muscles and soft skin, moving slow, deliberate. Fingers dip into the tension at Raka’s broad shoulders, then stroke down Kit’s lithe spine, teasing along the edge where battle-hard sinew melts into something vulnerable.

The moans start soft, unguarded. Kit melts under my touch, cheek pressed to the furs, tail curling like a question answered. Raka growls low and throaty, hips shifting when my thumbs roll deep into her lower back. Both of them smell faintly wild, faintly sweet—danger and desire mingling in the dark.

And as the massages turn from practical to something else—hands wandering, strokes lingering—my smirk returns.

“See? Tactical.”

The tent is heat, breath, and soft sounds now. No one’s rushing, but every motion carries promise.

My hands glide in slow, kneading circles across the curve of Kit’s lower back, thumbs pressing into knots that melt under my touch. Every sigh she gives is like a secret spilling in the dark—soft, needy, grateful. Raka rumbles low and deep as I work down her arms, fingers sliding over thick muscle and plush fur, the wolfkin’s strength shuddering beneath my grip as tension releases.

I take my time—shoulders, arms, spines, hips. Even their legs, even their feet. Kit’s toes curl when my thumbs stroke her arch; Raka’s claws flex against the furs, tail flicking like a metronome for something primal.

“Gods…” Kit murmurs, voice muffled into the bedding. “I think I could purr.”

Raka’s answering chuckle is a growl I feel in my bones. “You spoil us, Master… but don’t stop.”

I don’t. I take care of them until my forearms ache, until their bodies hum loose and warm under my hands. Then, when my fingers finally slid away from Kit’s calf, I let the pause linger—a breath of silence charged enough to tingle in the bond—before speaking.

“Flip over.”

Two words, soft—but edged in primed heat.

Kit’s head lifts, amber eyes wide and bright in the lantern glow. There’s a flash of something—mischief, hunger, trust. Slowly, almost sensually, she rolls, hair spilling around her like moonlight as her tattoos gleam faintly in the low light. Her breasts rise with her breath, and she smirks up at me, half-lidded.

“Tactical… right?”

Raka doesn’t even hesitate. She moves with a predator’s grace despite her size, turning onto her back, powerful arms folding behind her head, breasts—full, fur-soft, tipped in dusky pink—rising and falling as she settles in and fixes me with molten golden eyes. Her voice is a husky purr and a challenge all at once:

“If you’re going to command… then command.”

The Harem Bed surges—bond thrumming like wildfire through my core. I kneel there between them, pulse hammering, the air thick enough to taste.

They’re looking at me.

Eagerly. Willingly.

Mine.

My hands hover over smooth skin and soft fur, and I know—

this is more than a massage now.

This is a choice.

Watching my girls lay bare, breasts in the firelight through the tent, is intoxicating. I push the obvious desire aside—save it for last. Massaging shoulders, arms, legs, thighs… abs… breasts. They are hot and supple in my strong hands, with soft, unrestrained sounds.

At one point, they glance at each other—and neither looks away.

Just trust and shared vulnerability in their sisterhood.

It hits me harder than anything else.

My hands move with slow, deliberate purpose, gliding over warm, trembling skin and silken fur, kneading muscle and working out tension with practiced care. Kit melts under my touch, her alabaster skin flushed a deep rose, vine-like tattoos glowing faintly as if drinking in my heat. Her soft moans slip free, unguarded and sweet, like secrets whispered to the dark.

Raka is something else entirely—power and surrender woven together. Her breath rumbles low in her chest, half-growl, half-purr, each sound vibrating through the space between us as my hands work over her sculpted arms, then down along thighs built for war. When my palms smooth over her stomach, up to the swell of her fur-soft breasts, she arches into my touch with a sound that is nothing short of primal.

I work them both like art—shoulders, bellies, thighs—until my thumbs slide across the full weight of them, cupping, pressing, teasing over heated skin and fur. Sensitive peaks tighten beneath my touch, drawing sharp reactions from both of them. Kit gasps—startled, breath catching—while Raka exhales in a long, guttural sigh, golden eyes glowing with something that borders on reverence.

Then it happens—an unspoken moment.

Kit’s flushed face turns toward Raka’s. Their gazes lock, questioning for only a heartbeat… then dissolve into shared understanding. No shame. No fear—just belonging. Sisterhood.

They let it happen. Let the vulnerability bloom like fire between them as I move from one to the other, hands painting pleasure across their bodies like brushstrokes on a living canvas.

It’s so much more than heat—it’s trust. An evolution. The bond isn’t just magic now; it’s heartbeat to heartbeat, breath to breath.

And me?

I’m in the center of it—their world drawing tight around mine, the power and intimacy coiling until it’s almost too much to hold.

My hands drift lower—slow, deliberate—until they reach the edge of both their waists.

They stop me.

Not sharply. Not pulling away.

Together.

In unison, they look up at me—soft, sultry, something shy threading through it.

“Your turn, Master.”

“Shirt off.”

The words land like a spark in dry tinder. Their voices—low, warm, carrying that playful edge of command—wrap around me like silk.

For a heartbeat, I just stare, breath catching, my pulse louder than the crackle of the fire outside.

My smirk answers before my words do.

Sitting up, slowly, deliberately, I hook my fingers under the hem of my shirt. The muscles in my arms flex, the motion smooth, teasing. Shadows dance over the hard planes of my chest and stomach as the fabric slides up, baring inch after inch of sculpted muscle. Both girls watch, unblinking—Kit’s lips parting, her tongue darting to wet them, while Raka leans forward slightly, nostrils flaring as if scenting me, golden eyes glowing hotter in the dim light.

When the shirt clears my head, I toss it aside with a lazy flick. The air feels cool on my bare skin, but the weight of their gaze burns hotter than any fire.

Kit’s voice is barely a whisper, breathless:

“Gods… I forget you’re hiding this under all that chainmail…”

Raka rumbles low in her throat, a sound that sends heat pooling low in my spine:

“Strong… and ours.”

Then, like a coordinated strike, they move—slow, predatory. Kit slides closer from the left, fingers grazing over my abs as if mapping every line. Raka shifts in from the right, her furred hand warm as it presses against my chest, claws carefully pricking—not threatening, but claiming.

I’m caught between them, their scent—wild musk and sweet floral—filling my lungs as their hands roam my torso, trailing heat and shivers.

The air thickens, heavy with need and unspoken promises. Their eyes lift to mine in perfect unison, pupils blown wide, their breathing quick and shallow.

Kit whispers in my ear, her voice like velvet:

“Your turn… Master. Lay back.”

Raka’s growl is softer now, like thunder rolling in the distance:

“We’ll take care of you tonight.”

I stretch out slowly on the bedroll, the firelight painting molten shadows across my bare skin. The tent feels smaller, warmer, charged like the air before a storm. Kit and Raka hover above me for a breath, their gazes sweeping over my body like hands before the real ones even touch. Then, as if a dam breaks, they move.

Four hands—soft, sleek, and furred—explore me in synchrony, sliding over my chest, tracing the ridges of muscle along my arms, dipping down to my abs. Their touch isn’t just physical—it hums through the bond like music, vibrating in my bones, pooling as heat low in my core. Kit’s fingers are deft and knowing, applying teasing pressure that makes my breath hitch. Raka’s hands are bold, heavier, kneading muscle with a strength that feels primal yet reverent.

They glance at each other above me, some wordless conversation passing between them—playful, conspiratorial, wicked—and then it happens.

Kit slides lower, her feline grace carrying her down my body. The brush of her hair across my skin makes me shudder as her hand finds me—and then her lips—the contact intimate enough to steal my breath. Her smirk, when she feels my reaction, could melt steel.

Raka leans in from the other side, her breath hot and wild as it ghosts over my lips. She hesitates for half a second—snout close, golden eyes dark with desire—then decides. Her mouth meets mine.

It shouldn’t work. The angles are wrong, teeth sharp, lips softer than I expected.

But it does.

Gods, it does.

It’s a hungry, searching kiss—and when I respond, when my hand comes up to grip the thick fur of her neck, she growls low in her throat, a sound that vibrates through me.

Kit’s rhythm below and Raka’s kiss above pull me apart and back together in waves. Every sound—Raka’s deep growl, Kit’s soft, breathless giggle when she feels my reaction—burns into my mind like brands.

The tent glows in the firelight’s flicker, shadows painting sinuous shapes along the canvas walls as the heat between us climbs higher. Kit’s movements slow for a heartbeat, almost teasing, her amber eyes glinting with something feral and tender all at once. My breath tears out of me, my body tensing as her touch turns deliberate—controlled.

Raka breaks the kiss just long enough to rumble against my mouth:

“You’re ours.”

Then the world narrows.

A single moment—heat cresting, breaking—pulling everything tight before it releases.

I gasp into Raka’s mouth, the kiss turning deeper, more intense. Her tongue, rough yet soft, explores me greedily, hungrily, a wild creature trying to learn the shape of this human passion. Her growl vibrates into the kiss, the sound carrying through me, through the bond.

It pulses white-hot.

We blur together—mine, theirs, ours—caught in that breathless instant where everything overlaps.

Kit steadies me through it, enveloping me softly until the last of it fades. Her cheeks are flushed, ears twitching in the dim light. There’s a small, vulnerable pause as her gaze shifts to Raka—still close, still watching—before she murmurs, soft but clear enough to cut through the thrum of blood in my ears:

“…Can I try that?”

Raka stills mid-breath. Slowly, she pulls back, licking her lips, golden eyes bright with something warm and amused. Her head tilts toward Kit, and a low rumble rolls from her chest—not mockery.

Permission.

“…You can try,” Raka says, her voice velvet and husky.

Kit blinks—then smirks, sharp and catlike. She leans in—hesitant for half a heartbeat, then bold—and presses her lips to Raka’s.

It’s awkward for a second. Snout. Fangs.

Then they adjust.

Figure it out.

A soft laugh slips between them, breath mingling as they try again, slower this time.

“You taste like him,” Kit murmurs.

“Mmm,” Raka answers, brushing her muzzle along Kit’s cheek. “So do you.”

The tension breaks into quiet laughter—soft, relieved, electric.

When they finally settle back against me, the three of us collapse into a loose tangle of limbs and warmth, the Harem Bed aura wrapping around us like a second skin. The bond hums—contentment, belonging, something deeper that words can’t quite hold.

Outside, the forest whispers.

Inside, exhaustion settles in, warm and steady.

None of us notice the skeletal figure by the fire—head tilted just slightly—its eternal grin seeming, impossibly, a little wider than before.

The morning begins like a dream wrapped in fire-warmed canvas—soft light spilling through the tent walls, the scent of leather, wild fur, and something sweeter: my harem curled against me in a tangle of limbs.

Kit stirs first, lashes fluttering, her ears twitching as she smirks and drags her claws gently along my ribs. I grunt. Then Raka grumbles low in her throat, stretching like a beast, her muscled leg sliding over mine until I’m pinned under both of them.

“...Mmm, our Master looks comfy,” Kit purrs, her amber eyes glittering as her tail flicks under the blankets.

Raka bares her teeth in a wicked grin. “Comfy? He looks unguarded.”

Before I can react, claws and padded hands descend, and **I’m laughing—actually laughing—**as they tickle my sides, drag along my abs, and press hot, teasing mouths against my neck. It turns from sultry to ridiculous in seconds: Raka growling playfully as Kit darts in with quick nips, both of them trying to “claim” me. I retaliate, fingers finding sensitive spots on hips and tails until Kit squeals and Raka chokes on a laugh.

“Okay, okay—truce! Truce!” Kit gasps, cheeks flushed.

“Never,” Raka snarls in mock ferocity, before collapsing beside me in breathless laughter.

We’re all still grinning, sweat-slick and tangled, when a voice cuts through the tent flap:

“Time… to go.”

Three pairs of eyes snap wide. Silence hangs a beat too long. Then I hear it again, the voice flat, cold, and somehow final:

“Time to go.”

I groan, dragging a hand down my face. “Ed…”

Outside, the skeleton waits, head cocked like some grim butler, vines rustling softly in the breeze.

The three of us exchange a look—and then burst out laughing so hard it hurts. Kit rolls over, clutching her stomach, Raka’s deep chuckle shaking the tent walls.

“Guess the dead guy’s running the party now,” Kit smirks, pulling on her gear.

“Master,” Raka teases, fastening her armor with deliberate slowness, “are you gonna take orders from him?”

I shoot her a look that’s half mock, half molten heat, but it dies in another fit of laughter as we all scramble to dress, still grinning like fools.

When I step out into the forest clearing, Ed is standing perfectly still, claws flexing, hollow sockets fixed on me. He doesn’t speak again. Doesn’t need to. Somehow, we all feel it in the bond’s hum: today’s going to matter.

I circle Ed slowly, boots crunching over the soft loam, my mind scrambling for words. The skeleton stands stock-still, vines shifting faintly in the breeze, thorned tendrils coiling lazily along his forearms. There’s a strange elegance to him, something almost solemn in the way he waits. Watching.

When I finally stop in front of him, I reach out—hesitant at first, then firm—and lay a hand on his bony shoulder. Cool—rough where the vines have fused like sinew.

“Good job,” I say, voice rough with the hangover of last night’s… everything. “Keeping… watch. Thanks.”

For a heartbeat, nothing. Then Ed’s skull tilts, a creak of bone like the whisper of dry leaves. His jaw moves with the faintest grinding sound, and a single word slips out like frost curling over glass:

“…Always.”

The girls, halfway through strapping on gear, freeze. Kit’s ears flatten in surprise. Raka bares her teeth—not quite a snarl, more of a guarded grin—and murmurs, “Creepy.”

Ed doesn’t move again. Just standing there, vines quivering like they can feel my pulse.

Did he mean he was watching us… or watching over us?

It’s a strange topic best not understood.
