Duke Ironwood froze, the silver wine cup slipping from his gauntleted fingers and spilling onto the carpet. He stared at Adam, his heart hammering against his ribs like a war drum.

"Senior... what are you saying?" the Duke whispered, his voice trembling. "I am merely a frontier Duke. The Great Arch-Dukes possess army legions, sanctioned arch-mages, and ancient divine artifacts"

"They possess ambition," Adam interrupted, his tone even and absolute. "Nothing more. Ambition without understanding is merely a flame that consumes its owner."Full novel: Omniarch — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Adam raised his hand, gesturing toward the vast expanse outside the window.

Through the clouds ahead, the majestic skyline of the Royal Capital of Frostholm began to take shape. It was a staggering metropolis built across three colossal, concentric rings of white marble and blue ice. At the very center of the city, perched atop a massive floating glacier held aloft by ancient magic, stood the Imperial Palace its towering spires piercing the storm clouds like silver lances.

Yet, even from miles away, Adam could see the dark, swollen knots of chaos magic hovering directly over the central palace. Three distinct, powerful entities the competing Arch-Dukes were currently channeling their vast, corruptive mana into the palace's central ley-line array, attempting to force open the throne room's ancient barrier by raw force.

"The seal on your capital's central array is not failing on its own," Adam revealed, his eyes following the black threads that dragged down from the sky. "It is being deliberately poisoned by those who seek to claim the throne. They are breaking the continent's spine to force the doors open."

Duke Ironwood's face turned pale, then flushed with intense, cold rage. "They would risk destroying the entire northern continent... just to force an early succession?!"

"Mortal greed rarely looks beyond its own generation," Adam replied smoothly. "When we land, you will step into their court. You will not beg for their compromise, nor will you bow to their demands."

"And if they bring their arch-mages and armies against me?" the Duke asked, looking at Adam with a mixture of reverence and sudden, fierce resolve.

Adam stood up from his seat as the sky-carriage began its slow descent toward the royal landing docks. The air around him remained completely tranquil, yet the invisible threads of chaos lingering near the carriage instantly snapped and vanished, cleansed by his mere proximity.

"Then their magic will fail," Adam said, his quiet voice carrying the weight of an unshakeable cosmic law. "And their chaotic threads will be unraveled."

The sky-carriage touched down onto the silver landing pad of the Royal Palace with a soft hiss of escaping steam. Outside, ranks of elite royal guards stood at attention, flanked by the anxious figure of Princess Elena a young woman carrying the heavy, exhausting weight of a crumbling realm upon her shoulders.

Duke Ironwood took a deep, steady breath, buckling his sword back onto his belt. He stepped to the carriage door, bowing deeply to Adam before opening it.

"Lead the way, Duke Ironwood," Adam said gently, stepping out into the cold capital air. "Let us observe the rulers of this world."
