Moge didn’t wait long at the port before he saw Toniel and Carina approaching, loaded down with large bags of supplies.

Toniel was even balancing a massive wooden crate on his shoulder.

You guys bought quite a lot of supplies,” Moge said with a smile, glancing over the haul.

Carina dropped her bags onto the deck and sighed with relief.

“We stocked up enough to last a while so we won’t have to look for a port anytime soon.

I checked the sea chart, and the area we’re heading into has very few islands where we can replenish.”

Moge nodded and waved his hand.

“In that case, let’s set sail!”

As they raised the anchor, the Voyager slowly drifted away from the port and headed toward the open sea.

The cool sea breeze blew against them, making them feel exceptionally refreshed.

Carina leaned in close to Moge, her curiosity getting the better of her.

“By the way, Moge, what were you doing earlier?

When we were on the shopping street, we saw smoke from a distance and heard loud explosions.

That wasn’t your doing, was it?”

Moge laughed out loud.

He reached into his coat and pulled out a pineapple-shaped, irregularly swirled green Devil Fruit, placing it right on the deck table.

“Nothing much.

I just went to get something good, and a fight broke out over it.”

“A Devil Fruit?!” Carina gasped.

She leaned forward, her eyes sparkling as she stared at the strange fruit with absolute wonder.

“This is a treasure of the sea!

It’s worth at least 100 million Berries.

We could sell it for so much money!”

Actual Berry signs practically replaced her pupils.

Moge patted her head, ruining her daydream.

“What are you thinking?

We’re definitely not selling this.” He paused for a moment before continuing.

“The prices of different fruits vary greatly.

Logia and Mythical Zoan types can’t even be measured in Berries.

Some rare Paramecia fruits also command absurd prices—like the Ope-Ope no Mi, which is worth over 5 billion Berries.

Besides, we don’t even know what kind of fruit this is yet.”

Toniel also leaned over, staring intently at the object.

“Is this a legendary Devil Fruit?

It’s my first time seeing one with my own eyes.”

“Really?

If it’s that valuable, hurry up and see what it does!

Don’t you have a Devil Fruit encyclopedia?” Carina urged, pulling Moge toward the cabin.

“Don’t rush.”

Even as he said it, Moge didn’t waste any time.

He grabbed the illustrated encyclopedia from the cabin and flipped through the pages rapidly.

Before long, he stopped scrolling his finger down a page and smiled.

“Found it.

It’s a Zoan type—the Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Timberwolf.” He picked up the fruit and looked at his crewmates.

“Does either of you want to eat it?

If you do, you’ll gain the abilities of a timberwolf.

You’ll get three transformations, the speed and strength of a wolf, and your physical condition will improve rapidly.”

Carina immediately wrinkled her nose and took a step back in disgust.

“Ugh, forget it.

A Zoan type, and a wolf at that?

It sounds like it would make me look hideous.

I’m not eating it.”

Toniel looked at the fruit, then at Moge, asking hesitantly, “Captain, aren’t you going to eat it?

This is a Devil Fruit.

Even if it’s just a common type, it can still grant you great power.”

Moge smiled and set the fruit back on the table.

“Zoan types are great, but a Common Type is a bit lackluster.

I’m holding out for either a Mythical Zoan or a top-tier Paramecia.

This kind of ordinary Zoan isn’t of much use to me.”

Moge didn’t have any prejudice against Devil Fruits.

As long as it was a top-tier fruit, he would eat it without hesitation.

After all, it was the fastest shortcut to increasing his combat power, and it could help him reach the pinnacle of this sea.

As for the inability to swim, he didn’t care at all.

From his knowledge of the world, he knew that in the later stages of the grand journey, almost every powerhouse on the sea was an ability user.

Very few made it to the top relying solely on their bare hands.

Whether it was the Marines or the Emperors of the Sea, they almost all possessed devastating fruit abilities and mastered them to an incredible degree.

However, there was a strict hierarchy among Devil Fruits.

The gap between an ordinary fruit and a top-tier one was like the distance between heaven and earth.

For him, wasting his single chance on a Common Type Zoan would be a massive mistake.

Instead of settling, it was far better to wait for a truly suitable, powerful fruit.

Hearing this, Toniel didn’t press the matter.

He had also heard from his foster father that Zoan fruits were divided into distinct classes: Common Type, Ancient Type, and Mythical Zoan.

There was a world of difference between them.

“You’re right, Captain.

A Common Type Zoan is indeed a bit beneath you.

A Logia or a Mythical Zoan would suit you much better.” Toniel paused, looking down at his own hands.

“Captain, I won’t eat it either.

My combat skills are still pretty weak.

Even if I eat a Zoan fruit, I probably wouldn’t be able to unleash its true potential.”

Moge patted his shoulder reassuringly.

“You have a point, but these kinds of fruits are actually perfect for someone with a weaker physique like yours.

Of course, if a person can use Haki, the potential of a Zoan type skyrockets.” He thought for a moment before adding, “Tell you what.

If you don’t want this one, just wait.

We’ll definitely get our hands on more fruits in the future, and you can pick a better one then.”

Toniel smiled gratefully.

“Thank you, Captain!” Then, a look of confusion crossed his face as he remembered something.

“By the way, Captain…

what exactly is this Haki you just mentioned?

I’ve been meaning to ask you about it for a while.”

Moge leaned back against the railing and began to explain.

“There are three types of Haki in total: Haoshoku, Armament Haki, and Observation Haki.

Among them, Haoshoku is innate.

You can’t get it through training; only one in a million people is born with it.

But anyone can awaken Armament Haki and Observation Haki, provided their physique is strong enough and their will is firm enough.”

Moge extended his hand, demonstrating the basic application on the spot.

“Armament Haki acts like an invisible suit of armor that you can use for both offense and defense.

It’s also the ultimate counter to Devil Fruit users.

It allows you to bypass their defenses and physically grab anyone, even those with intangible Logia bodies.

Observation Haki, on the other hand, is the power of perception.

It lets you sense the presence, emotions, and locations of people around you without using your eyes.

At an advanced level, it can even let you use Future Vision to see an enemy’s next move.”

He lowered his hand and looked at the two of them.

“I’ll slowly teach you both how to use Haki later on, but your first step is to strengthen your physical conditioning.

A strong body is the foundation for everything.”

He then turned his gaze to Carina, his tone becoming more serious.

“That goes for you too.

As we venture further out to sea, our opponents will only get stronger.

You’ll have to learn Haki sooner or later.”

Carina nodded silently.

She had heard of Haki before and understood its immense value, which was why she had been pushing herself so hard in her recent training sessions.

Toniel nodded with a determined expression.

“Understood, Captain!

I’ll train as hard as I can.

I won’t hold the crew back.”

Moge gave a slight nod and stopped talking, falling deep into his own thoughts.

He had already grasped Beginner Armament Haki and basic Observation Haki, mastering the concepts of hardening and imbuing.

However, when it came to advanced applications, he only understood the theories and hadn’t actually achieved them yet.

This was his core goal for the immediate future.

Advanced techniques like Armament Emission and Internal Destruction had to be forged bit by bit through raw talent and grueling practice.

And for Observation Haki, the ability he desired most was Future Vision.

Things like mind reading or ultra-wide-range sensing didn’t matter as much to him.

You’ll help me unlock these heights, won’t you, Talent Points…

he muttered silently to himself.

He didn’t have a floating system screen or a robotic voice in his head; he simply used that phrase to remind himself of the unique gift he possessed.

It was a talent akin to absolute diligence—as long as he was willing to train desperately and push his limits, he would reach heights that ordinary people could never hope to touch.

With enough hard work, he would eventually master every single advanced technique one by one.
