In truth, awakening Armament Haki wasn’t particularly difficult.

As long as someone’s strength had reached a certain level and they knew how to draw out the latent power within their body, they could awaken Armament Haki.

In the New World, even some small fry might have already awakened Armament Haki.Full novel: One Piece: The Magnet-Magnet Fruit — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The real problem was how to draw out that dormant power, and how to train and use it afterward.

Out of ten people who possessed Armament Haki, nine might be unable to control it freely.

That was why truly powerful Armament Haki users were so rare in the world.

Yuri had already been in this world for more than five years.

Throughout those five years, he had trained relentlessly, and his body had more or less reached the level required to awaken Armament Haki.

In fact, he could already sense the existence of that power.

The problem now was how to draw it out and how to train himself until he could actually use it in battle.

After all, in the original story, even Luffy had spent two full years training under Rayleigh before he truly mastered Armament Haki.

There was no need to question Luffy’s talent as the protagonist, yet even he had needed two years, and that was with a powerhouse like Rayleigh personally teaching him.

For Yuri to master this power, it would probably take even longer.

Besides, this kind of thing also depended on talent.

Some people might spend their entire lives without ever gaining full control over Armament Haki.

Most importantly, Yuri had no one to teach him.

Fortunately, he had Observation Haki.

As mentioned before, because of Yuri’s exceptionally powerful mental strength, his Observation Haki could perceive things in far greater detail than ordinary Observation Haki.

Most people used Observation Haki to sense an opponent’s movements through their presence, motion, breathing, or even heartbeat.

Yuri’s Observation Haki, however, allowed him to perceive everything within its range almost as clearly as if he were seeing it with his own eyes.

Especially when he concentrated his Observation Haki on a single point, he could perceive many things that couldn’t be seen with the naked eye.

When Yuri focused his Observation Haki inward and used it to sense the latent power within his own body, he could even perceive that dormant power directly.

Aside from his Devil Fruit ability, there were two other forces within him.

One carried an aura of overwhelming majesty, while the other was filled with the vitality of life.

The majestic aura was extremely faint.

If Yuri hadn’t concentrated fully on sensing it, he might not have noticed it at all.

That aura should belong to Conqueror’s Haki.

It seemed he was also a man who possessed the potential for Conqueror’s Haki.

Unfortunately, that power was still far too weak and hadn’t reached the point where it could awaken.

The force filled with life energy, on the other hand, was Yuri’s Armament Haki.

Several months later, a black aura wrapped itself around Yuri’s fist.

After months of intense training and deliberate attempts to guide the power out, Yuri’s Armament Haki had finally awakened.

However, he still had a long road ahead before he could truly control it and apply it freely in battle.

…

While Yuri focused on training his Armament Haki, he temporarily had no time to supervise Robin.

Robin continued training by herself, but without Yuri personally pushing her, she no longer worked herself as brutally hard as before.

Compared to training, she preferred sitting quietly and reading books.

Knowing that Robin loved to read, Bege found many books for her and even arranged for maids to attend to her.

He could tell that compared to Daz, Yuri valued and cared for Robin much more deeply.

It had to be said that Bege was extremely good at reading the room.

Robin greatly enjoyed her time in Ida City.

After spending so long wandering from place to place and constantly fleeing for her life, this period of peace was something she rarely experienced.

One day, she finished reading the last book Bege had found for her.

Stretching lazily, Robin decided to take a walk around the city.

However, she never expected that the moment she went out, someone would set their sights on her.

“Nico Robin.

As an important criminal wanted by the World Government, you participated in research concerning the Poneglyphs, which the World Government has explicitly forbidden anyone from studying.

You are hereby placed under arrest.”

Lafitte was a sheriff, what most people would simply call a police officer.

He was responsible for maintaining law and order throughout Ida City.

Earlier that day, one of his officers had reported discovering Nico Robin, an important criminal wanted by the World Government, inside the city.

Lafitte had immediately led a group of men to arrest her.

For him, capturing Robin would be an enormous achievement.

Seeing the law enforcement officers surrounding her, Robin’s expression changed drastically.

“You’d better not resist.

If you do, I won’t mind breaking your arms,” Lafitte said coldly.

“Gentlemen, aren’t you misunderstanding something?

This young lady is a guest of our boss.

She’s certainly no criminal.”

When Robin went out, Bege had assigned several of his men to act as her bodyguards.

After all, Ida City had become increasingly unstable due to the recent war among the three major families.

Seeing the law enforcement officers preparing to arrest Robin, they immediately stepped forward.

They knew perfectly well that Robin was an important guest of their boss.

“You’re men from the Capone Family?

I’ve heard you’ve been acting pretty arrogantly lately.” Lafitte showed them no respect whatsoever.

“I suggest you worry about yourselves first.

Nico Robin isn’t someone your family is capable of protecting.

If you know what’s good for you, get out of my way immediately.

Otherwise, I’ll arrest all of you as well.”

Hearing Lafitte’s words, the Capone Family members’ expressions changed.

However, their boss had issued strict orders that Robin had to be protected at all costs, so they remained firmly in place.

“Get them.

Arrest every last one of them,” Lafitte ordered.

The officers immediately rushed toward Robin and the others.

“Dos Fleur: Clutch!” Robin shouted.

Two arms sprouted from the bodies of several officers, grabbing their arms or joints and twisting them backward, leaving them in agony.

Taking advantage of the opening, Robin immediately broke through the crowd and fled.

“You won’t escape.” Lafitte gave a cold smile.

A pair of white wings spread from his back, and his body rose into the air as he flew after Robin.
