“It’s the Railgun!”

After pursuing Yuri for so long and fighting him several times along the way, the Marines had become extremely familiar with his Railgun.

The moment they saw that orange-red light, they immediately recognized it as Yuri’s Railgun.Full novel: One Piece: The Magnet-Magnet Fruit — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Where did it come from?

Where’s Gadile Yuri?”

“I saw it!

It came from that tower over there!”

“How is that possible?

That tower is at least several hundred meters away.

The Railgun’s effective range should only be around fifty meters.”

“Not necessarily.

The reason Gadile Yuri’s Railgun normally has such a short range is because he uses coins.

Beyond fifty meters, the coin melts away from traveling at more than three times the speed of sound.

If Gadile Yuri used a tougher piece of metal, or simply a larger one, firing a Railgun several hundred meters wouldn’t be impossible.”

“Be careful!

He might fire again!”

“Vice Admiral Sakazuki was hit!

Is he all right?”

“He should be fine.

That’s Vice Admiral Sakazuki we’re talking about, one of the Marines’ monsters.”

At that moment, the orange-red light finally faded, and the smoke gradually dispersed.

The Marines could finally see Sakazuki clearly.

He was bleeding.

Everyone stared in horror.

Their Vice Admiral Sakazuki was actually bleeding from the forehead.

His head had been split open.

Akainu’s expression was terrifyingly gloomy.

If looks could kill, the murderous glare in his eyes would have killed someone several times over.

That Railgun had been far too unexpected, and its speed had been terrifying.

From Akainu’s understanding of Yuri’s abilities over the past few months, the normal effective range of his Railgun was roughly fifty meters.

Beyond that distance, the coin would melt away because of its tremendous speed.

The Railgun worked by using an electromagnetic rail to launch an object as a projectile.

Once the projectile disappeared, the Railgun naturally disappeared with it.

Yet the attack just now had been fired from a tower several hundred meters away.

That was completely beyond Akainu’s expectations.

Moreover, after being fired, the Railgun hadn’t slowed down.

Instead, it had continued accelerating.

Three times the speed of sound was only the Railgun’s initial velocity.

Caught off guard by both the unexpected range and its terrifying speed, even Akainu had reacted a little too slowly and was struck instantly.

Normally, at the critical moment, he could transform his body into magma to avoid an attack.

But this time, elementalization had been useless.

The coin had struck his true body directly.

At the critical moment, only his Armament Haki had protected him.

Even so, the attack had still split open his forehead and drawn blood.

“Armament Haki.

The coin was coated in Armament Haki.

That’s why it could travel so far, and that’s why it could hit me.

It seems Gadile Yuri spent these past few months hiding somewhere and training his Armament Haki.

And he actually succeeded,” Akainu said coldly.

“Armament Haki…

So that’s it.

With Armament Haki protecting it, even a tiny coin can withstand speeds beyond three times the speed of sound,” the Marines said in realization.

At that moment, Akainu raised an eyebrow and shouted, “Don’t think the same move will work twice!”

As he spoke, Akainu threw a punch.

His fist collided directly with another streak of orange-red light.

While the Marines had been talking, another Railgun had already been fired from the distant tower.

This time, Akainu was prepared.

He condensed powerful Armament Haki around his fist and smashed it directly into the incoming Railgun.

Boom!

Two tremendous forces collided, producing a deafening roar.

In the end, the Railgun disappeared.

“As expected, my Armament Haki is still far too weak.”

The Railgun hadn’t actually been destroyed by Akainu’s punch.

Rather, Yuri’s Armament Haki wasn’t strong enough.

As the coin flew, the Armament Haki coating it gradually faded away.

Eventually, there was no longer enough Haki to protect the coin, and under the combined strain of the Railgun’s speed and Akainu’s attack, it melted away.

“Then I’ll just have to win with quantity,” Yuri said calmly.

As he spoke, he pinched coins between the fingers of both hands.

One Railgun after another shot toward Akainu.

Seeing this, Akainu roared and began throwing punch after punch.

Unfortunately, no matter how fast his fists were, they still couldn’t keep up with the speed of the Railguns.

After knocking away several shots, Akainu failed to punch in time and was struck by one of the Railguns.

His body was sent flying backward uncontrollably.

Several more Railguns immediately chased after him and struck Akainu while he was still hurtling through the air.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

A series of violent explosions erupted.

“Vice Admiral Sakazuki!” the Marines cried out.

Even though they knew how terrifying Akainu’s strength was, they couldn’t help worrying after seeing him take such a barrage head-on.

“Meteor Volcano.”

At that moment, an icy voice came from within the explosions.

The next instant, one magma fist after another shot out of the blast, flying straight toward the distant tower.

In the original story, Akainu’s Meteor Volcano was first launched into the sky before raining down from above like meteors.

But that didn’t mean Meteor Volcano could only be used in that way.

It could also be fired directly at a target.

And when fired straight ahead, its speed was equally terrifying.

“Bastard!

Are you trying to destroy Ida City?” Yuri raised an eyebrow.

At the same time, electricity crackled violently across his entire body as a massive amount of iron sand rose and danced behind him.

“Iron Sand Shower!”

The iron sand transformed into a dense barrage and shot outward, striking the incoming magma fists of Meteor Volcano.

Naturally, such tiny grains of iron sand couldn’t possibly stop Meteor Volcano on their own.

However, the magma fists struck by the Iron Sand Shower abruptly stopped in midair.

Natural magma contained at least some metallic elements.

After all, magma was molten material originating from deep within the earth, and it naturally contained minerals and metals.

As long as something contained metal, it could be influenced by magnetism.

Akainu’s magma, however, was formed purely from the energy of his Devil Fruit ability.

That made it extremely difficult for Yuri to control directly with his magnetic Devil Fruit.

But once the Iron Sand Shower struck the magma fists, iron sand became embedded inside them.

With that iron sand present, Yuri could control the magma fists.

“Here.

You can have them back,” Yuri said calmly.

The magma fists immediately reversed direction and shot back toward Akainu.

They collided head-on with another wave of Meteor Volcano.

In an instant, violent explosions of magma erupted across the sky!
