“Is this the Captain’s new ability?”

“It actually sucked in every single magma attack.”

At this moment, Bege and the others were utterly stunned.

Especially when they looked at the enormous blazing sphere of magma hanging in the sky like a sun, everyone felt their scalps go numb.

“This should be gravity, right?

Theoretically speaking, magnetism does possess attractive and repulsive forces, but those forces only apply to objects with magnetic properties.

Yet this attraction clearly isn’t limited to magnets.

Even from where we’re standing, I can feel a force trying to pull us upward.

This should be universal gravitation, like the gravitational pull of the earth, right?” Robin said in shock.

“In other words, the Captain used his magnetic Devil Fruit to develop the power of universal gravitation?”

“As expected of the Captain.

He can even accomplish something like this?”

Everyone stared in astonishment.

Anyone with even a little knowledge understood that magnetism and universal gravitation were two completely different concepts.

Magnetism, even electromagnetic force, generally only affected metals.

Universal gravitation, however, was completely different.

Universal gravitation was exactly what its name implied.

It could act upon all matter, including people.

When gravitational attraction became strong enough, it became crushing gravity.

And if that gravity became powerful enough, it could even crush a person to death outright.

“Bege, take everyone and retreat immediately,” Yuri suddenly said with a grave expression.

Hearing Yuri’s words, Bege looked at him in confusion.

Hadn’t Yuri already brought the situation under control?

Even if they needed to retreat, surely they didn’t have to leave this early.

“This is also my first time using Chibaku Tensei.

It’s only ever existed as a theoretical technique until now.

Honestly, even I don’t know what will happen next.

We might end up getting caught in it too,” Yuri said.

As Yuri spoke, the attractive force generated by Chibaku Tensei grew increasingly powerful.

Bege and the others could already feel a strong pulling force trying to drag them into the sky.

Sand and stones began rising from the ground.

Even the corpses of the pirate hunters Kemp and the others had killed earlier were slowly pulled upward by the terrifying force.

The instant those rocks and corpses touched the enormous sphere of magma in the sky, they burst into flames.

In the blink of an eye, they were reduced to ashes.

Seeing this, a chill ran through everyone.

Retreat.

They had to get out of here.

None of them wanted to be sucked into that gigantic ball of magma.

Realizing this, Bege immediately drew Daz and the others into his body, transformed his legs into tank treads, and raced toward the other side of the island, where their pirate ship was docked.

“Marines, that was quite the enthusiastic greeting.

I suppose I should return the favor properly!” Yuri said with a grin as he took out a coin.

Yuri didn’t retreat with Bege and the others.

He knew Sakazuki wouldn’t let him escape so easily this time.

Besides, after all these years, Yuri had long been eager to fight Akainu properly.

This deserted island was the perfect battlefield.

On the sea off the opposite side of the island, several enormous Marine warships were anchored.

Standing on the deck of one of them was a Marine dressed in a fiery red suit.

It was none other than Marine Admiral Candidate Sakazuki.

When he saw the enormous sphere of magma hanging in the sky, Sakazuki’s expression turned extremely ugly.

There were only seven routes through the first half of the Grand Line.

Without an Eternal Pose, ships could only travel along those seven routes by following their Log Poses.

That made it possible to analyze which island Yuri’s crew would visit next based on the islands they had already passed through.

Once the Marines knew which island they were heading toward, things became simple.

They only needed to wait there in advance.

After confirming that Yuri was on this island, Sakazuki had immediately unleashed Meteor Volcano and launched an indiscriminate bombardment across the entire island.

As for the pirate hunters on the island, Sakazuki didn’t care whether they lived or died.

In his eyes, pirate hunters weren’t much different from pirates.

They were all criminals of the sea and among the sources of chaos that plagued it.

The only real difference was whether or not they had bounties on their heads.

So if they died, they died.

It didn’t matter.

What Sakazuki hadn’t expected was that his indiscriminate attack would actually be stopped in this manner.

Was this another new ability developed by Gadile Yuri?

Or was there another Devil Fruit user on the island?

At that moment, Sakazuki suddenly saw an orange-red flash appear in the distance.

Without the slightest hesitation, Sakazuki threw a punch directly toward the approaching orange-red light.

Boom!
