Seeing that the question was finally asked, Joseph scrambled up from the ground and rushed to answer: “Big Brother Zoro went to another island earlier; neither we nor Mr.
Rem saw him.”
Vivi stared at him expressionlessly: “Really?”
Beside him, Johnny nodded repeatedly: “It’s true, it’s true!”
Vivi was very satisfied with this answer and nodded: “Then that’s a real shame.”
“Yeah, yeah, it really is a pity.”
“Yeah, Big Brother Zoro has always been toward Baroque Works…” Before Johnny could finish, Joseph covered his mouth, glaring at him intensely, signaling him to shut up immediately!
Vivi would mention it to Nico Robin later, and the matter with Rem would be settled.
Ms.
All Sunday was busy and wouldn’t care about such a small thing; whether he was killed or eaten by Sea Beasts didn’t matter.
Baroque Works didn’t care about a minor East Blue Bounty Hunter at all.
She sized up Joseph and Johnny.
She was going to look for the puppy, Shu Shu, and these two had arrived just in time.
As local experts of the East Blue, they would be a great help.
Unfortunately, their combat level was a bit low, though that was normal; they basically represented the overall combat level of the East Blue.
There was a reason why the East Blue was called the weakest of the Four Seas.
Comparing horizontally, Vivi estimated their swordsmanship level to be just over LV1, far from reaching LV2.
One couldn’t use people like Garp, Gol D.
Roger, Dragon, Ace, Luffy, or Zoro as the standard for East Blue’s combat power; those were monsters and not representative.
The two in front of her were the direct embodiment of the East Blue’s combat level.
They hadn’t eaten a Devil Fruit, hadn’t been to the Grand Line, and had never even heard of Haki.
Ultimately, they were through-and-through ordinary people.
If she took them to the Grand Line, they would likely be GG after a single pirate raid.
After a round of mutual flattery like “You’re all doing great” and “Big Sister is truly amazing,” the subsequent development followed naturally.
Although there was no issue of getting lost due to magnetic field interference in the East Blue, Vivi still needed guides to follow her to find the puppy, Shu Shu.
These two guys, who brought their own provisions, were quite suitable.
Johnny and Joseph were mainly there to gather information for Zoro.
They didn’t want to join Baroque Works, let alone fight to the death in the Grand Line.
Now that Vivi wanted them as guides, they were more than happy to comply.
After handling one mission, they could say their strength was too low and quit the organization; then everything would be settled with Perfection.
Both sides hit it off immediately.
Johnny and Joseph followed their newly acknowledged Big Sister onto a merchant ship bound for the Koya Kingdom.
They would disembark midway and then find a way to the town where the puppy, Shu Shu, was located…
Not long after Vivi led Johnny and Joseph out of Loguetown, the Marine warship stationed in the town also set out.
Vivi underestimated the Marines’ ability to track fugitives and even more so underestimated Smoker the White Hunter’s determination.
Smoker’s character was one of not fearing power, not fearing enemies, and being persistent.
Once he set his sights on something, he would investigate to the end and never give up.
Vivi had cleaned up the scene very well and fled decisively.
Her disguise for the Duck was also perfect.
At least 99.9% of the people in the Marines wouldn’t chase after someone for those 50 Berries; it simply wasn’t worth it!
Unfortunately, Smoker was so bored in Loguetown that he had nothing to do every day but stack stones.
He belonged to that 0.1%.
Karu’s hat and clothes had been restored to their original state, but his size couldn’t be changed.
With such a large Duck, no one was blind…
Relying on intuition, Smoker believed there was a connection between the woman who released Haki and the “strange creature” that appeared the next day.
At this time, five women who left Loguetown with pets, including Vivi, entered his sights.
Pursue!
He would not rest until the matter was cleared up!
Smoker set out in pursuit with a few of his close subordinates, including the female Sergeant, Tashigi.
He knew his priorities and the importance of Loguetown to the Marines.
If his superiors learned he had deployed a warship to pursue someone for 50 Berries, even having Admiral Aokiji as a backer wouldn’t help; every Marine from the Fleet Admiral down to the common soldiers would roast him to death.
Therefore, he didn’t use the Loguetown garrison but instead requisitioned a warship from the East Blue’s Branch 153 that happened to be in Loguetown for a debriefing.
Aside from his few close subordinates, the remaining soldiers were all East Blue locals.
Anyone familiar with sailing knows that there are established sea routes.
The five suspects Smoker marked were not on the same ship, but they all followed the same route from Loguetown.
Smoker wasn’t worried about losing his targets.
Who was the target exactly?
He didn’t know yet; he only knew he had to chase them first and figure it out once he caught up!
A total of seven ships sailed out of Loguetown.
The first six were merchant ships, and the one trailing far behind was the warship Smoker had borrowed from the Marine East Blue Branch 153.
Sitting at the stern of one of the merchant ships, Van Auger found it a bit strange.
Why was a Marine warship pursuing?
Was it chasing him?
He hadn’t done anything, had he?
If this sniper stood on high ground, he could hit a bird miles away with a single shot.
Van Auger appeared lazy and calm, but his actual personality was very bellicose; he was usually the first to strike in a battle.
Although he didn’t know why the Marine warship was pursuing, he still raised his long rifle, “Senriku,” and aimed from afar at Captain Smoker standing on the warship’s deck.
Just as he was about to fire, a huge black shadow suddenly flew overhead.
“What is that?” He didn’t have time to fire and looked up sharply, only to find an incredibly massive sailing ship passing through the clouds above…
Why was a ship flying in the sky?
This phenomenon overturned many of his inherent concepts.
He subconsciously looked back at the distant Marine warship and saw it in utter chaos.
The Marineford Captain, wearing a white jacket and chomping on cigars, was ordering the soldiers to turn the rudder.
“Jiehahahaha—look what I’ve found!
A lone Marine warship?
You poor things, let me send you back to Marineford!
Jiehahahaha—I really want to see Sengoku’s old face!”
Van Auger saw a Golden Figure land on the deck of the warship behind him.
Accompanied by an incredibly arrogant voice, the figure seemed to pat the warship very casually.
The massive warship instantly broke free from the pull of gravity, rising slowly and flying toward the sky.
The Captain from Marineford on the warship roared repeatedly, constantly issuing orders to try and fight back.
Unfortunately, the branch soldiers were ultimately not as elite as those from Marineford and were currently in a state of total chaos.
Van Auger focused his gaze and saw the Marineford Captain roaring as he engaged the Golden Figure, but in less than ten moves, he was cut until he was covered in blood.
The Captain’s subordinate, a young woman wearing glasses, drew her sword to fight with great trembling, but the gap in strength was even larger.
After barely a few exchanges, she was slapped away by the Golden Figure, and her long sword flew far into the distance…
It might not seem tempting right now but who knows what the future holds?
“And If you’re enjoying it, drop a Power Stone for me!”
