Despite being surprised by the appearance of Buffalo, now was not the time to overthink it.

He said, “Smoker, you go and hold off Buffalo.”

Lucas then landed on the ground, his hands gripping his sword and elephant blade.Full novel: One Piece: Waking Up in a Broken Era, I Chose My Own Justice — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Two-sword Style: Sweeping Blade!”

The next moment, accompanied by a flash of blades, Lucas vanished, and a series of semi-circular arcs continuously appeared in the air.

After the arcs passed, all the pirates were left with only their bodies; their heads were gone.

Soon, all the pirates on the street fell.

“This guy… he’s gotten stronger!” Smoker exclaimed in surprise as he watched Lucas strike.

He immediately snapped out of it, realizing this was no time to be dazed, and quickly transformed into white smoke to charge at Buffalo.

Meanwhile, Lucas arrived at another street.

Looking at the pirates and gangster thugs rampaging through the street, Lucas’s eyes were cold.

“Eight Gates, Gate of Opening, Gate of Healing, Gate of Life, Gate of Pain, Gate of Limit, Open.”

Whoosh!

Instantly, a massive amount of green aura erupted from Lucas’s body.

His Marine coat and black hair were blown upwards, fluttering wildly.

“Two-sword Style: Sweeping Blade!”

Lucas’s figure vanished, and the next moment, he appeared at the other end of the street.

He then proceeded to the next street.

Splat!!!

As Lucas departed, the heads of the pirates and gangster thugs on the street shot into the sky, and massive lines of blood gushed out from their necks.

The blood formed fountains that sprayed into the air, turning into a bloody rain that dripped back down to the ground.

Every pirate and gangster thug had been decapitated, their wounds as smooth as mirrors, while not a single civilian had been harmed.

“So… so terrifying…”

In the corner of the street, a boy of about ten years old with a grass-green cockscomb hairstyle, eye markings beneath his right eye, a nose ring, and a face like a demon, watched the hellish scene before him, including the corpse of his uncle lying on the ground.

He was terrified, feeling a chill run through his entire body.

This boy was named Bartolomeo, and in this moment, Lucas left a deep shadow in his heart.

“Two-sword Style: Sweeping Blade!”

Another street, and a lightning-fast figure streaked by, followed by heads flying into the air.

Lucas cleared six streets in succession.

Those pirates, gangster thugs, and prison escapees who were rampaging were all slaughtered by Lucas, every last one of them.

Finally, he arrived at the square of Loguetown, where the battle was most intense.

Smoker was fighting Buffalo and Machvise of the Donquixote Family alone.

On the other side of the square, two men in suits and masks were teaming up against a man with yellow hair.

Lucas did not recognize this man.

“Smoker, get out of the way!” Lucas said as he rushed forward, swinging Shuro and elephant blade as he went.

“Two-sword Style: Steel Tempest!”

Two crescent-shaped flying slashes flew from Lucas’s blades.

Hearing the voice, Smoker quickly flew to the side.

Facing the flying slashes, Buffalo and Machvise also dodged to the sides immediately.

But before Machvise could steady himself, he felt a green shadow streak by his side.

“Cutting you down is as easy as turning my hand!” This was the last voice Machvise heard.

As that shadow passed, Machvise felt intense pain in his stomach.

He looked down and saw that his stomach had been completely sliced open.

He moved slightly, and a large amount of blood flowed out along with his intestines.

“Machvise!” Buffalo exclaimed in shock upon seeing his companion’s state.

Bang!

With a dull thud, Machvise’s massive body collapsed.

Donquixote Family executive Machvise: Dead!

At the same time, a surge of heat flowed into Lucas’s body.

“It’s your turn!” Lucas said, slowly raising his two blades.

“I’ll fight you to the death!

Gust: Yosaburo.” Buffalo said, spinning the propeller he had transformed his head into at high speed, launching a high-pressure storm attack at Lucas.

This was a move Buffalo had specially developed.

“Face the wind!

Hasagi!” Lucas also swung out a hurricane.

The two cancelled each other out.

When the storm dissipated, countless green lights suddenly flashed before Buffalo’s eyes.

“Ten-Finger Shigan: Green Light Gatling!”

Lucas’s hands formed claws, turning into a blur of afterimages, as countless seeds with a faint green light flew toward Buffalo.

In this moment, Lucas had become a green light gatling gun.

Splat!

Splat!

Splat!

Buffalo’s body shook rapidly, sending sprays of blood into the air.

A moment later, Lucas stopped, panting, and deactivated the Eight Gates.

At his current physical level, using the Eight Gates for this long was too much of a strain.

Thump!

Buffalo, now covered in blood, finally collapsed to the ground as desired.

At the same time, a surge of heat was fed back to Lucas—it was insights into Devil Fruit abilities.

Meanwhile, the yellow-haired man fighting the two men in suits and masks noticed the situation here.

He wanted to leave, but was blocked tightly by the two masked men in suits.

Just then, a violent wind suddenly whipped up, blowing so hard that people couldn’t open their eyes, and it started to rain.

Immediately after, a hurricane suddenly struck.

The two masked men in suits were blown off balance, while the yellow-haired man used this wind to fly up, landing in the residential area, where nearby houses collapsed in large numbers due to the hurricane.

Seeing this, the two masked men in suits were anxious and rushed to pursue him, but in this residential area, there was no longer any sign of the yellow-haired man.

“Damn it!” one of the masked men cursed angrily.

“Go back and get the Marine to help search; we must not let him escape,” the other masked man said.

The moment the violent wind arose, Lucas looked up at the sky, then began to assist Smoker in dealing with the remaining pirates and gangster thugs in the square.

“Marine, we are CP0 under the World Government, and we require your cooperation to search all of Loguetown.” The two masked men in suits walked over, directly flashing their credentials.

Their tone was clearly demanding.

“Right now, we need to attend to the wounded and the civilians,” Lucas said expressionlessly.

“Those lowly people, if they die, they die.

The person we need to catch is someone specifically named by the World Government.

Now, hurry up and organize your men to search Loguetown,” the masked man in the suit said impatiently.

This statement made Lucas’s expression darken, and Smoker also looked angry, saying, “Our Marine is not under the jurisdiction of you CP0.

Assemble, save the people.”

“You… hmph, I hope you don’t regret this.” One of the masked men said, then stormed off.

Smoker began leading the soldiers to save people, while Lucas looked up at the gloomy sky and whispered, “Dragon, your Devil Fruit ability can actually change the weather; it’s a bit of a counter to me!”

As he said this, Lucas cast his gaze toward a nearby area of houses that had been blown down, and added, “However, to create a hurricane just to save one person—isn’t that a bit excessive?

Is this the operating style of the Revolutionary Army?”
