The boss behind the scenes berated the manager relentlessly, but this actually made the old man breathe a sigh of relief.

He was terrified that the boss would remain silent, as that would surely mean a terrible fate for him.

Now it seemed, at the very least, his life was spared, though he might still face significant punishment.

“My friend, please wait a moment; our boss is on his way.”

The manager put on a fawning smile and hurriedly ordered the service staff to bring some pastries and fruit, along with two bottles of fine wine, all to keep Kazi pacified for now.

Kazi didn’t refuse any of it.

Since it was free, he figured he might as well eat it; and honestly, it tasted surprisingly good.

About half an hour later, the door to the manager’s office opened.

Leading the group was a man wearing gorgeous attire, looking every bit like a high noble of Druid.

He was followed by dozens of bodyguards, with his capable subordinates flanking him on both sides.

The man didn’t even glance at the manager, instead turning his head to look at Kazi, saying indifferently, “Kid, are you the one causing trouble in my casino?”

“Asking for over a billion right off the bat, you certainly have a big appetite.”

Kazi calmly set down his wine glass and said playfully, “When you open a business, integrity is key.

I won the money with my own skill, so what’s wrong with that?”

Kazi’s logic was sound, but the problem was that he had single-handedly intimidated everyone by winning so much.

The house losing money was one thing, but the customers were all scared off, so where were they supposed to make money?

Not to mention that his casino had also lost so much money—this was all his own wealth.

Clap, clap, clap!

The man applauded, smiling sinisterly.

“Hehehe.”

“Young people really do have talent, but having never experienced the harsh beatings of reality, you are far too arrogant.”

“You need to know that money you actually live to spend is your true profit.”

“As it happens, I, Charles Teas, am the number one noble in this country, with power second only to the King.

Here, my word is law.”

“Rydell, Mesa, show him what’s what.”

“Hahaha, no problem, Boss.”

“Leave it to us.”

The two men behind Charles Teas stepped out with sinister grins; judging by their posture, they wouldn’t stop until Kazi was completely crippled.

Charles Teas watched Kazi with cold eyes; he wanted to see if this ignorant, arrogant kid would still be so tough when he was kneeling and begging for mercy later.

“You are the law?”

Kazi remained seated on the sofa, but his aura suddenly erupted.

With a burst of Conqueror’s Haki, everyone in the room except for Charles Teas instantly fell unconscious.

Kazi deliberately controlled his Conqueror’s Haki; after all, this noble still had to pay up, so he couldn’t let him pass out.

A sense of fear from the depths of his soul washed over Charles Teas.

Even though Kazi deliberately avoided targeting him, it still affected him significantly.

Cold sweat drenched his head as if he had been caught in the rain.

The terrified expression on his face fully reflected his inner state, and he no longer possessed his earlier composure.

“This…”

“This is…”

Charles Teas swallowed hard, unable to even speak a complete sentence clearly.

Kazi didn’t waste any words.

He stood up and slowly walked to Charles’s side, tilting his head and whispering, “Old man, it was originally 1.2 billion Berries, but with my time and effort for the trouble caused, I’ll give you a discount.

Just pay me 3 billion Berries.”

“If you can’t pay…”

“I’ll pay, I can afford it!

As long as you don’t hurt me, I’ll go raise the money for you right now.”

Clinging to this lifeline, Charles hurriedly promised that he would do his absolute best to pay.

“Then I’ll wait here.

Don’t go anywhere; make the call right here.”

Not daring to waste a second, Charles hurriedly pulled out a den den mushi to contact his butler, ordering him to deliver the money immediately.

Having spent so many years lording over this country, he had long since extorted countless wealth from the common people.

The casino was just one of his many businesses.

Raising 3 billion Berries wasn’t actually too difficult, though it would bleed him dry.

Saving his own life was the priority.

Whether to seek revenge or squeeze the commoners even harder later were things to consider only after surviving.

Over an hour later, a man who looked like a butler arrived.

The casino had temporarily ceased operations, and the butler had dozens of men carry the Berries over.

The room couldn’t hold that many Berries, so Kazi took Charles to the casino’s main hall.

Looking at the mountain of Berries before him, Kazi had finally achieved financial freedom.

“My lord, all the Berries have been brought.

Would you like to…”

Kazi acted as if he hadn’t heard Charles speak.

With a wave of his hand, the 3 billion Berries were all stored away into his Independent Space.

This terrified everyone present.

The mountain of Berries that had been there just a moment ago vanished into thin air; it was simply beyond their comprehension.

Tap, tap, tap~

The scene was terrifyingly quiet, with only the sound of Kazi’s footsteps echoing in everyone’s ears.

“Ah, don’t worry.”

“I am a person who values integrity above all else.”

Kazi’s words made Charles overjoyed, feeling that his life had been saved this time.

“But.”

“But?”

“My lord, we had an agreement.

You’ve already taken the money, so you can’t hurt me now.”

Kazi looked back at Charles, then picked up a chair and said, “Of course I wouldn’t go back on my word, but this chair has a grudge against you, and no matter how I try to stop it, I just can’t.”

“Huh?

A chair?”

Before Charles could react, Kazi coated the chair in a layer of Armament Haki and threw it with force straight at Charles’s head.

Bang!!!

Without the slightest surprise, Charles’s head was smashed to pieces like a watermelon, killing him instantly.

Afterward, Kazi followed up with another burst of Conqueror’s Haki, sending the butler and all of Charles’s subordinates straight into dreamland.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk.

What on earth did you do to this chair for it to hate you so much?

This isn’t my fault; after all, it was the chair that killed you.”

Kazi certainly wouldn’t leave any loose ends.

Charles had been exploiting the commoners and was clearly no good; his death could be considered doing a service to the people.

Furthermore, no one could guarantee that this guy wouldn’t spend a fortune to pull strings and report him to the World Government.

Money can make the devil move the millstone.

If he really ended up attracting some Admiral-level powerhouses, while he might not necessarily lose, it would still be a hassle.

As for Charles’s subordinates, they didn’t have the financial resources to sway those bloodsuckers in the World Government.

Among them were those who deserved to die, and perhaps some who were just trying to earn a living.

Kazi didn’t have the time to carefully screen them, so he simply knocked them all out with Conqueror’s Haki—it didn’t matter, as they posed no threat to him anyway.

Although his Armament Haki and Observation Haki were quite good after eight years of training, and he could already perform hardening, emission, and internal destruction with his Armament Haki.

However, his Observation Haki had yet to awaken, and he couldn’t perform infusion with his Conqueror’s Haki.

The only thing he found comforting was that, having lived two lifetimes, his mental energy was extraordinary, which caused his Conqueror’s Haki to be exceptionally powerful and allowed it to improve at a fast rate.

Combined with the Great Swordsman techniques he had inherited from the Sword Saint, he really didn’t fear anything, even if an Admiral were to come.

Kazi walked out of the casino as if nothing had happened.

Now that he had money, he planned to buy a decent ship when he reached Water 7.

After all, he shouldn’t mistreat himself.

“As expected, one can only get rich through the work of one’s own hardworking hands.”
