Chapter 6: A Civilisation

Online Game: I Can Evolve My Summons Endlessly

Emil started walking towards the door; his steps remained steady, yet every muscle in his body was tense as he kept his guard up to protect himself from anything that might be waiting beyond the door for him.

He stood next to it, and while he remained motionless, he tried his best to fathom the current situation. The door, which looked colossal from afar, was even more enormous than before.

Emil looked like nothing more than an ant standing in front of an elephant. His lips parted as he looked upward, trying his best to see the top of this gate, but he failed miserably.

"What are these guys keeping in there? Literal giants or what?" A dry chuckle filled the surroundings.

Instantly, he shook his head and placed his palm over the door. He had only intended to check whether the gate would open, but he hadn’t expected the door to open on its own.

When it swung towards the inside, the ground abruptly started to shiver once again as if another earthquake had come. Emil instantly created a few metres of distance between him and the door, trying his best not to get injured in any sort of way.

The door finally stopped when it opened fully, revealing another huge door made of a metal that was shining and had similar properties to gold.

Emil’s iris shrank, which made it easier for him to focus at the front; the distance between him and the door was enough to make him run out of breath.

But it didn’t sting him enough because the only thing he cared for was a person sitting on a huge wooden bench placed next to the golden gate.

"Huh?!"

"I expected that there’d be people in here, but another massive door? And a person is guarding the entrance too?! What are these people even guarding themselves from?" A huge number of questions lingered inside his mind, which he said out loud.

His mind went completely blank, and the only thing that remained was to make his way towards the next gate. He walked for a couple of minutes; the limited amount of energy that he had left was almost finished.

He stopped a few metres away from the golden door; instantly, he leaned down and grabbed his knees. Heavy gasps left his mouth; his entire body was drenched in sweat, yet the scorching heat of the desert caused it to evaporate almost as soon as it appeared. Even standing there now was enough to break his spirit.

The man who sat there until now finally began to stand back up. When he stood completely, his frame towered at ten feet; his upper body remained uncovered, but black strips similar to tattoos were imprinted on his body.

They travelled from his biceps to his chest and then made their way to his back. The man’s frame was enormous, his muscles so chiselled that he looked like a warrior whose physique had been forged through countless battles.

His lower body was covered by loose sandstone-coloured battle robes that draped all the way to his feet. The fabric hung in heavy folds. A black tail extended from his back; its fur was thick, just like that of a beastman.

But the only thing, aside from the man’s height, which took over Emil’s attention was a huge diamond which was placed in the centre of the man’s stomach, where, usually, the navel in humans is located.

The frightening appearance of his made Emil’s jaw drop; his body began trembling because of the sudden confrontation. His mind had gone completely blank; he didn’t know what to do in this situation.

"Uh..." He raised his hand gently, trying to wave at the man in order to seem friendly because he didn’t want to have any kind of grudge with someone who seemed nth times stronger.

But the gesture was too outward for the man, a strange gesture that man did: he got on one of his knees and looked down at the ground; his colossal frame was still looking taller than that of Emil’s.

Emil’s brows furrowed; confusion flickered over him instantly. "Wh-what are you doing? Why are you on your knees, bowing to me?"

The current situation was too much for a normal person like Emil to comprehend; first, he appeared in a desert, and now this. Everything with him was going in the opposite direction.

But before he could even get any kind of answer, his surroundings shifted back to normal as he found himself standing next to the mana circle inside the summoner tower once again.

The mana circle was still reflecting mana, but this time it was golden with black linings mixed inside of it. The whole circle was filled with such mana, and across the glass was written: Potential: Emperor tier, 14.00.

The woman who remained standing there patiently while watching Emil take time in his soul space finally gasped; the tier written across the mana circle was enough to belittle her knowledge.

"What?!" Her loud voice filled the entire chamber, although she stuttered a bit.

’E-Emperor tier?! A potential of emperor tier bloomed in our summoner’s tower?!’ She shouted inwardly, trying to suppress herself from saying it out loud.

The sudden change in her demeanour was enough to confuse Emil. But ignoring all of his surroundings, his gaze fell on his left, where the man from that civilisation was standing next to him.

An enormous axe, nearly six feet in length, rested in his grasp. His arms remained folded as he looked down at the woman from his towering height.

She was already devastated enough because of the sudden reveal, but the moment she noticed a strange man looking no less than a giant, it made her stagger backwards.

She studied the man for a while, and that led her to a conclusion that it belonged to a race which she hadn’t seen in her entire career as a summoner.

"T-That thing is a summon?!"

"I’ve seen multiple humanoid summons... but this one?! It’s my first time seeing this race."
