“A curse user?

Huh?

Then isn’t he our enemy?”

The moment Todo openly identified Atsushi as a curse user, Kugisaki Nobara instinctively shifted into a fighting stance.

Aggressive blue cursed energy flared around her like fire, stirring her short orange hair.

Her fingers tightened around the nails in her hand, and undisguised hostility filled her bright eyes.

Faced with Nobara treating him like an immediate threat, Atsushi simply waved a hand.

“We’re on different sides, sure, but you aren’t my target.”

As he spoke, Atsushi looked toward Hanami’s severed head in Ryomen Sukuna’s hand.

“That cursed spirit is.”

Nobara frowned.

“The curse?

What exactly are you trying to do?”

“My goal is obviously…”

Atsushi was about to answer when an overwhelming surge of cursed energy suddenly erupted.

“What?!”

It was cursed energy in its purest and most malicious form.

The instant Atsushi sensed it, both Todo and Nobara widened their eyes as well.

At the center of the battlefield, Ryomen Sukuna stood facing the massive, pale figure of Mahoraga with an expression of absolute superiority.

Then the corners of his mouth curled into a vicious grin.

As casually as if he were throwing away worthless trash, Sukuna tossed Hanami’s severed head behind him.

Black markings covered his face as arrogance and excitement filled his expression.

Then he slowly brought his hands together.

“Domain Expansion.”

The world seemed to change.

Crimson light erupted from beneath Sukuna’s feet.

Behind him, a horrifying structure rose from empty space with a deep, rumbling sound, as though emerging from beneath dark water.

A shrine of deep red stood at its center, surrounded by enormous twisted bones and grotesque remains.

Terrifying.

Suffocating.

Overwhelmingly evil.

There was no mistaking it.

This was the Domain of Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses.

He’s opening his Domain immediately?

Wait…

Atsushi’s thoughts accelerated.

His gaze swept across the battlefield and locked onto the devastated ground nearby.

Megumi was lying there with his eyes closed, still suspended in a near-death state.

“Malevolent Shrine.”

Sukuna’s cold declaration fell.

But the open-barrier Domain Atsushi expected, the one that would reduce everything within range to pieces, never appeared.

Instead, a massive black sphere rose from the ground like an abyss.

In an instant, it completely enclosed both Ryomen Sukuna and Mahoraga inside an isolated, sealed space.

Just as I thought.

He deliberately closed the boundary.

He converted Malevolent Shrine from an open Domain into a closed one.

That way, Fushiguro won’t get caught in it while he’s suspended near death, and Sukuna won’t massacre everyone on the Goodwill Event grounds and provoke Itadori Yuji into taking control of his body back.

And in a way, he’s also hiding the existence of his open-barrier Domain from Jujutsu High.

The King of Curses.

He acts arrogant and reckless, but he’s constantly shifting the situation in whatever direction benefits him most.

The enormous black sphere finished closing around Sukuna and Mahoraga.

With both monsters sealed inside, some of the suffocating pressure weighing over the battlefield finally disappeared.

“So that’s Sukuna’s Domain…?”

Nobara stared at the sealed sphere in shock.

Cold sweat ran down her pale cheek.

A battle involving monsters on the level of Ryomen Sukuna and Mahoraga was far beyond anything a first-year student who had only recently entered Jujutsu High had ever witnessed.

Todo, however, reacted differently.

As a veteran Grade 1 sorcerer, his instincts immediately shifted toward the battlefield around them.

The instant he confirmed that Sukuna and Mahoraga had both been completely sealed inside the closed Domain, he moved without hesitation.

Todo bent down sharply.

His enormous hand reached into the rubble and picked up an ordinary stone.

Every muscle in his body tightened.

He tossed the stone lightly into the air.

Then he raised both hands and clapped.

Clap!

The sharp sound echoed through the ruins.

Boogie Woogie activated instantly.

At the exact moment Todo’s palms met, Megumi’s motionless body, lying far away in the wreckage, switched places with the falling stone.

A second later, Megumi appeared safely in Todo’s powerful arms.

Todo’s rough features turned serious.

He pressed two thick fingers against Megumi’s bloodstained neck.

“Just like you said.”

Todo checked his carotid pulse.

“He’s still alive.”

Atsushi gave a small nod.

Todo gently lowered Megumi to the ground.

Then the massive sorcerer continued without wasting a second.

He repeated the same method over and over.

A stone was tossed.

A clap sounded.

Someone switched places.

Panda, unconscious and badly damaged.

Inumaki Toge, collapsed after straining his throat.

Zenin Maki, covered in blood and unable to fight.

One by one, Todo used Boogie Woogie to move the injured students away from the center of the battlefield and into the relatively safer area around them.

Just as Kenjaku had instructed, Hanami hadn’t deliberately killed any of the Jujutsu High students.

Every one of them was injured badly enough to be taken out of the fight, but they were still alive.

“So what do we do now?”

Nobara looked at her unconscious classmates.

“Take them and leave?”

“You said Fushiguro summoned Mahoraga through some kind of taming ritual, right?”

“If we move Fushiguro far enough away from the shikigami, wouldn’t that cancel it?”

“Probably not.”

Atsushi shook his head.

“To terminate Mahoraga’s taming ritual through distance, you’d most likely have to move extremely far away.”

“And this entire forest is covered by a Curtain that allows entry but prevents escape.”

“Getting Fushiguro far enough away to cancel the ritual probably isn’t possible.”

“Otherwise, every Ten Shadows user in Zenin history could have just summoned Mahoraga and run away whenever they wanted to use it as a suicide move.”

“There wouldn’t be so many records of them dying together with their opponent.”

Atsushi explained it seriously.

Then, after delivering that grim conclusion, he did something neither Todo nor Nobara expected.

He turned around.

Without the slightest hesitation, he walked directly toward the enormous black sphere containing Sukuna’s Domain.

He stopped among the rubble and bent down.

Hanami’s severed head, which Sukuna had discarded earlier, was lying there in the dust.

Atsushi picked it up by the top of its head.

Hanami’s life force was fading rapidly.

The curse had suffered fatal damage, and what remained of its vitality was becoming thinner by the second.

There wasn’t a trace of pity in Atsushi’s eyes.

“Pathetic.”

He murmured quietly enough that only he could hear.

“Even among the strong, there are levels.”

“To me, a Special Grade curse like you is overwhelmingly powerful.”

“But in front of Mahoraga and Ryomen Sukuna…”

“You couldn’t even struggle.”

Hanami was apparently too weak to speak.

The strange voice that normally seemed to communicate directly inside Atsushi’s mind never came.

Atsushi tore off part of his sleeve and tied Hanami’s head securely to his waist.

“Hey, that’s dangerous.”

Nobara immediately warned him.

“Don’t get any closer to that Domain.”

Her warning had barely left her mouth when it happened.

Crack!

BOOM!

A deafening explosion shook the battlefield.

The seemingly indestructible black shell of Sukuna’s Domain suddenly became covered in cracks.

Then it shattered outward from within.

When the distortion finally cleared, the scene revealed beyond it was almost impossible to believe.

Mahoraga stood there.

But the Divine General’s enormous body had been reduced to something barely recognizable.

Countless slashes covered its pale skin, each wound deep enough to expose bone.

Its once-imposing form had been carved apart by intersecting cuts so thoroughly that its original shape was almost impossible to make out.

And standing directly across from it.

Was Ryomen Sukuna.

Completely unharmed.

Not even the edge of his clothing was stained with dust.

But the King of Curses wasn’t laughing.

He wasn’t celebrating the one-sided slaughter.

Instead, Sukuna’s expression had turned dark.

His brow was deeply furrowed as he stared at Mahoraga with obvious irritation.

Thud.

Nearly four-fifths of Mahoraga’s body had been reduced to shredded flesh inside Malevolent Shrine.

Only fragments of its torso, head, and ruined limbs remained connected.

The instant it emerged from the collapsed Domain, its destroyed legs failed to support it.

Mahoraga dropped heavily to its knees.

The difference between the two was overwhelming.

Mahoraga had been almost completely torn apart.

Ryomen Sukuna hadn’t even gotten dirty.

“Did Sukuna win?”

Even though Sukuna was obviously not on their side, a faint trace of relief entered Nobara’s voice at the sight.

Then, from the otherwise silent battlefield, a deep and unnerving mechanical sound suddenly rang out.

Click.

The enormous wheel floating above Mahoraga’s head turned once.

Sukuna’s pupils contracted.

And in the next instant…

A miracle arrived.

Or perhaps a nightmare.

There was no visible healing process.

No gradual regeneration.

The instant the wheel clicked into place, Mahoraga’s mutilated body was simply restored.

Whole.

Uninjured.

As if the damage had never happened.

“Nah.”

Atsushi felt the surge of cursed energy coming from Mahoraga grow even stronger.

“Mahoraga adapted.”
