Thors’ face grew red as he stared at the status screen right in front of him in disbelief, and rather, with a growing sense of excitement.
[User: Thors Godfrey]
[Race: Superhuman]
[Status: Dormant]
[Charisma: 17]
[Lineage Core: 5/100]
[Abilities: The One That Stands With Lightning. Golden Lightning]
His charisma stat had not just doubled but increased exponentially from the last battle.
It was insane.
This much just from interfering in the matters of five students.
’Too bad the quest is already gone.’ Thors sighed, folding his hands into his pockets.
If there had been a crowd to watch him defeat those three bullies, he would have not just gotten almost twenty charisma points but maybe even surpassed a hundred.
Thors gritted his teeth at the thought of the immense power he would gain at a hundred charisma points.
In the end, he sighed in defeat. For now, he would cherish the small win he had gotten.
He turned around another hall, and as though the system had been listening in to his thoughts all this while, it replied with the most surreal notification.
[You have received a Quest]
[Reach 100 Charisma points]
[Reward: Weapon]
A weapon?
Thors raised his brows. "A hundred charisma points is really a long way away."
His voice grew curious. "The weapon better be something OP."
Thors set out to check further into the system for any other interesting information he could find after the Quest. In the latter, he met himself with nothing but information he had already learned of.
He grunted, finally reaching a large metal door, with golden, intricate lines carved into its surface. Thors stared at his watch and then back at the door...
Reading off it.
"Room 306."
This was the place.
Thors thought, grabbing onto the round knob of the door and then pushing it open to enter the room.
He took a few steps in and stopped immediately.
The room in question caught Thors Godfrey far too well.
Maybe not the room in particular. Thors’ gaze locked onto the outstretched fist just a foot from his face, with one of the fingers popping out—the middle finger...
It took only a moment of thought for Thors to fully comprehend that he was being faced with a "fuck you" gesture.
"What the hell?" Thors shifted slightly, tilting his head away from the hand to stare at the perpetrator.
And at first sight, it was like staring directly at the face of a goddess.
A lady with luminescent, long pink hair made into beautiful locks that fell down her shoulders and back in soft, flowing waves. Her face was soft and pale, unimaginably beautiful, with light blue ocean eyes that paired perfectly with Thors’ gaze.
At just a single stare, he felt his heart race within his chest, a statement Estes had once told him crossing his mind at this moment.
’Thors, there are real baddies in life. They all live in the big city! When you meet one, you’ll know.’
Thors had laughed it off at that moment, but right now...
’So this is a baddie.’
"Ahhhh, oh, sorry. You aren’t the one I expected?!" The lady spoke, dropping her hand down nervously, shrinking in her stance as she avoided eye contact with Thors.
’She’s adorable...’
Thors’ lips curled up, and with a blatant voice, he said, "Aye, then I guess whoever that was meant for would feel jealous."
Thors rubbed the back of his head as he said this. At this, the girl turned to face him, eyes arched as she tilted her head slightly in curiosity before a nervous smile appeared on her face.
Then she swayed slightly, asking in a half-clueless tone,
"What is that supposed to mean?"
Thors only at this moment turned to stare into her enchanting blue eyes, her bright smile drawing his attention before he laughed.
"Nothing really, I might have gotten too excited along the way." He chuckled again, stretching out his hand towards the pink-haired beauty. "I am Thors Godfrey."
She chuckled, raising a hand to cover her lips as she did so. Then she leaned forward in the cutest way, winked at Thors, and shook his hand.
"Talia," she pronounced with a light, heavenly tone. One that seemed to settle itself deep into Thors’ chest.
He opened his mouth to speak once again, but before Thors could do so, a voice cut him off.
"You are awfully late."
Thors drawled forward, turning his gaze to the source of the voice.
The stunning, unwavering beauty, Layla, sat by a round table, ancient and pristine. Her hands were folded across her face as she gave Thors a skeptical look, her expression carrying the quiet impatience of someone who had been waiting for far too long.
Thors rubbed the back of his head and thought back to the bullies on his way here.
"I had a little miscalculation along the way."
Layla rolled her eyes and, in a low, almost mocking tone, scoffed.
"You have little to no priority to me." She paused, her gaze sweeping across the room. "Why are the others late, though?"
At that moment, Thors glanced through the broad, magnificent corridors of the meeting room. There was nobody present but him and the other two girls.
It was hard to believe. Seoul was not even present himself.
A cold knot twisted in Thors’ stomach at the thought.
Talia seemed to tense up as well, her hand cushioning underneath her chin as she pondered the situation.
"I have a really bad feeling about this."
The other two felt the same.
And to their suspicion, as seconds became minutes and time began to whittle away...
Wham!
The doors swung unevenly as they opened a path, and in rushed a medium-height girl.
"Lady Layla!" she yelled, her voice trembling from her heavy breathing, her face seething with sweat and pure, utter terror.
"It’s the Top Ten..."
Layla’s chair screeched against the floor.
She stood up and slammed her hands into the table with so much strength that the ancient table shrieked under the force of her strike.
"Speak!" she spat angrily.
The girl still struggled to breathe, her back hunched as she fought to draw enough air into her lungs. Despite all this, she pushed herself to wrench the words from her mouth...
"The Top Ten... Four of them... are getting beat up..."
The news turned the expressions of both Talia and Layla grim.
Layla’s brow rose, and in a snarl, she asked...
"Who?!"
