"I understand, Master," Leonis said softly.
"I hope you really follow through with that."
"Don’t worry. I usually think before making a decision."
Evangeline laughed.
"Then I hope you keep that habit during the exam too."
The conversation about the great powers made him think about his own path of growth once again.
In this world, level was not just a number that showed one’s progress. Reaching certain thresholds could completely change an Awakened’s position.
Before Level 20, a person had not yet reached the first official rank of cultivation.
But at Level 20, they would receive the title of Opener.
At Level 40, they would receive the title of Grandeur. At Level 60, the title of Sage. At Level 80, the title of Sovereign. And at Level 100, they would obtain the title of Immortal.
These five ranks were the official titles that marked the growth of one’s power, and they should not be confused with the stages of the Core, although Core advancement and passing level thresholds were closely connected.
Leonis had not reached any of them yet.
Level One.
However, in terms of physical stats, he could now be compared to a Level 8 or 9 Awakened.
And considering his new physical foundation, his actual performance in physical combat could even come close to the Level 13 or 14 range.
Of course, this was only a rough comparison, not a guarantee of victory.
Even so, such a condition was considered amazing for someone who had not yet reached even the first official rank of power.
After talking with his master for a while, he returned to his training.
On the seventh day, after finishing his morning training, Leonis went to the main building of the academy. Today was the final deadline for completing registration for the monthly exam.
The large registration hall was full of students standing in front of the information registration devices.
Some were excitedly talking about the exam, some were worried, and others confidently talked about the Exorcist License and the rewards they would receive after passing.
Without paying attention to their conversations, he walked up to one of the devices and placed his student card on the screen.
[Name: Leonis Habsburg]
[Level: 1]
[Talent: Minor Reinforcement — Rank F]
[Status: Ordinary Student]
[Monthly Exam Registration Completed Successfully]
Leonis took back his card.
That was it.
Now, he only needed to pass the exam.
Just as he was about to leave the hall, the conversation of several students caught his attention.
"Look at that girl. She’s from the Elite Division."
He turned his gaze toward the entrance of the hall.
A very beautiful girl had entered with several other students. She was wearing the formal uniform of the Elite Division and walked through the crowd with a cold and dignified expression.
The memories of the body’s previous owner immediately reminded him of her identity.
His former fiancée.
The same girl he had been in love with for years.
The same girl whose family had canceled their old engagement after the destruction of the Habsburg Family.
And the same person whose confession from the previous Leonis had eventually led to a deadly duel.
The girl glanced at Leonis, but she showed no reaction. She wasn’t surprised, angry, or even upset. She simply looked at him for a moment and then continued walking.
It was as if she had passed by someone completely unimportant.
He also showed no change in his expression, but her companions were not as calm.
One of the students said with a mocking smile,
"Isn’t that the last Habsburg? I heard his Core was destroyed."
"Looks like James showed him no mercy, hahaha!"
"That’s what happens when you dare to desire the young lady."
Another student laughed.
"Looks like he still thinks he can become an Exorcist. Maybe he hopes Master Evernight will make an exception for him."
Several others laughed as well.
Leonis heard every word, but he didn’t even stop. He calmly walked past them.
It wasn’t because he was unable to respond, but because he saw no point in doing so. People whose confidence came entirely from other people’s status were usually not worth wasting time on.
Of course, that didn’t mean he would forget what they had said. He had an excellent memory, and now, thanks to the [Immortal Insight Soul], he could remember the things he wanted even better than before.
If he ever got the chance to respond, he would prefer to let the results of his actions speak so clearly that there would be no need for any further conversation.
When he left the registration building, the evening sunlight fell on his face.
He stopped beside one of the stone pillars and opened his status panel.
[Name: Leonis Habsburg]

[Physical Foundation Increase: 4444%]
[Soul: Immortal Insight Soul]
[Skill: Calamity Sense]
[Habsburg Swordsmanship: Minor Perfection]
[Seven Veils of Eternal Night: Mastery]
[Mana Control: Mastery]
He looked at the information for a few seconds.
Only seven days had passed. However, his current condition was very different from when he had first entered this body.
A Ten-Star Core, an extraordinary soul, and a body whose raw stats were close to those of a Level 8 or 9 Awakened.
And a physical foundation that allowed his actual performance in certain situations to be compared to Levels 13 or 14.
Along with these, he had skills that even many geniuses dreamed of learning.
However... he was still Level One and was not the most powerful student at Avalon... not even close.
But this didn’t matter to him. He didn’t need to stand at the top today. He only needed to make sure that his path would eventually lead him there.
And for such a goal, he was willing to be patient, make plans, and take advantage of every suitable opportunity.
He closed the panel.
His gaze fell on the academy’s large building. The exam would take place in only two days.
He had a plan for it, but another matter was also on his mind.
Rhea.
The girl who had been troubled by something since the fifth day but refused to talk about it.
Leonis still didn’t know what the problem was, but if his guess was correct and it was related to the Valcrest Demon Clan, then the situation was probably much more complicated than a simple family disagreement.
His small smile faded.
It seemed he had a lot of things to take care of.
