[Race: Noble Demon]

For a few seconds, Leonis’s eyes stayed fixed on that one line.

Rhea was still standing in front of him and complaining about him training right after being treated, with a frown that would probably be enough to scare weaker students.Full novel: Others Copy Talents, I Can Copy Others' Destiny With 10,000x Returns! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But her voice became distant in Leonis’s mind for a moment.

Demon.

That word did not have a simple meaning in this world.

Pieces of the previous owner’s memories came up without being invited; old books from the Habsburg Family, paintings of the Great War, and pages written with much more detail about the massacres of humans than the general history books.

In that war, known as the Great War, Demons had been one of humanity’s main enemies.

Proud and extremely powerful beings that could grow by absorbing the Soul Essence of other creatures.

And among all races, the human Soul had a special value to some of them.

Some records of the Habsburg Family even mentioned areas of humanity where, after the Demon armies passed through, neither an army nor a single civilian had remained.

His first reaction was completely natural, caution, but there was nothing like fear or hatred in him, only a review of all the information he had about the girl in front of him.

But right after that, other memories also passed through the mind of this body.

Rhea sitting beside his bed when they were children and telling him with a frown to drink his bitter medicine.

That girl in the courtyard of the Valcrest house, taking a wooden sword from one of the children who had made fun of him and breaking it over her own head.

Rhea had stayed beside him almost every day after the destruction of the Habsburg Family; even when he himself had nothing to say.

And even now, despite being angry at his stupid behavior on the first day of the Academy, she had still personally come to see him.

Leonis’s eyes moved to another number.

[Affection toward Host: 62]

If Rhea really intended to eat his Soul, then apparently she had been far too patient and obsessed with finding the right time for more than ten years.

The corner of his lips rose slightly, to him, her race was only new information for now, it was important, and it was dangerous, but it was not a final judgment.

A being whose race had committed crimes in the past was not necessarily the same criminal. Just as a human who came from a Hero Family was not necessarily a hero.

He himself was a fairly good example.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Rhea finally noticed his long silence and frowned even more.

"Did that hit really damage your brain too?"

Leonis calmly moved his gaze away from the System panel.

"I was thinking about how much I still don’t know about you," he answered in a normal tone.

She stayed still for a fraction of a second.

The change in her expression was very short, so short that if Leonis had not already been focused on her, he might not have noticed it.

Then the girl turned her face slightly.

"You were close to death three days ago, and now you’ve started saying strange things? I didn’t think dying would make you even more stupid."

He said nothing, he recorded that short pause in his mind, apparently, his words had touched a point that Rhea did not want to talk about.

But for now, he had a more important matter.

Her Destiny.

With a brief focus, Rhea’s panel expanded.

[Target is eligible.]

[One visible Destiny detected.]

[Purple Destiny — Hunter’s Sense]

[Within the next five days, during training with one of the Academy’s Masters, Rhea Valcrest will awaken the Danger Sense skill.]

[Effect: Allows the user to partially sense threats, killing intent, and direct dangers against the user without identifying their source.]

His eyes narrowed slightly, this was no longer an Elixir, it was a skill, and unlike a direct increase in power or Mana, it was something that could be useful in almost any situation.

The ability to detect danger before it happened.

In a world where Fallens could appear from a dark corner and one mistake was enough for a human body to be torn apart on the ground, such a skill had much more value than its simple appearance suggested.

’Copy it,’ Leonis commanded in his mind.

[Destiny successfully copied.]

[Danger Sense]

[10,000-fold amplification has begun.]

[Rebuilding the nature of the skill...]

[Amplification successfully completed.]

[Danger Sense --> Calamity Sense]

A new window appeared.

[Calamity Sense]

[Effect: Allows the user to sense deadly threats before they happen.]

[Allows the user to see all dangers as moving lines and identify their source.]

[Allows the user to detect killing intent, dangerous Mana changes, and hostile creatures within a certain range.]

[The intensity of the reaction changes according to the level of danger.]

[Warning: If there is a very large difference in power between the user and the danger, its source may not be identified.]

Leonis stayed silent for a moment.

It was good, more than good.

This was not a skill that would kill the enemy for him.

If someone ten times stronger than him sent a sword toward his neck, Calamity Sense would simply do him the favor of warning him earlier that his head was about to be separated from his body.

Dodging was still his own responsibility.

But just when he was about to close the panel, a thought suddenly came to him.

With this girl’s Affection at 62, he had been able to copy one Destiny.

When Evangeline had activated the System, her Affection had been 74, and at that time he had only seen one Destiny from her.

Then when her Affection reached 80, another Destiny appeared.

He frowned slightly.

’System, if the first threshold is sixty, then where was Master’s Destiny at the sixty threshold?’

The answer appeared a little later this time.

[The Destiny related to the first threshold has already been consumed.]

’When?’

[At the moment the Host’s foreign Soul entered the body, Leonis Habsburg’s body was still biologically alive, but its original Soul had already disappeared.]

[Evangeline Evernight’s Affection had passed the first threshold at that time.]

[To prevent the complete collapse of the Host’s body and the rejection of the foreign Soul, the first Destiny was urgently copied and consumed.]

This time, Leonis truly said nothing.

So his arrival in this body had not simply been a blind coincidence.

His Soul had somehow reached this world, but if the System had not used Evangeline’s Destiny, perhaps his body would have rejected him at that very moment.

Or the body might have completely died.

Or he himself might have disappeared along with it.

’System, show me all the exact thresholds.’

This time, the answer was completely clear.

[Destiny Observation Rules:]

[Affection or Hatred above 60: First Destiny.]

[Affection or Hatred above 70: Second Destiny.]

[Affection or Hatred above 80: Third Destiny.]

[Affection or Hatred above 90: Fourth Destiny.]

[Affection or Hatred equal to 100: Ability to observe and copy Fundamental Fate.]

Now everything fell into place.

Evangeline’s sixty threshold had been used to save him.

Seventy, the Core Elixir.

Eighty, the Immortal Insight Soul.

And if the number ever reached one hundred... something much greater would be waiting for him.

"Leonis." Rhea’s voice was closer this time.

He blinked and realized that the girl was standing right in front of him.

"Are you even listening to what I’m saying?"

"More or less." Leonis briefly looked at her hand.

"More or less?! Ever since I came in, I’ve been telling you that you shouldn’t train like this with a Core that was broken three days ago!"

"It isn’t broken anymore."

"I can see that, but your Master told me not to worry because she healed your Core... but how was she able to heal something that everyone says can’t be healed?"

"Well... let’s just say it was a special treatment." Leonis did not know how to answer this one.

"Did it hurt?" Rhea asked in a low voice, as if she was afraid to hear that he had been in pain.

"Ah...? Well, it was more enjoyable."

"What? What do you mean?"

"Forget it, only the result matters."

"Let me check it myself." Rhea frowned and, before Leonis could say anything, took another step closer.
