Yun Sheng: “…”

He really did hear it.

Qin Yanchuan didn’t wait for her to answer and had already walked away.Full novel: Out of Control! Luring Her to Fall Again — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Yun Sheng only felt a gust of cold wind sweep past.

She looked back and saw the black Bentley speeding away like an arrow released from a bowstring.

“Second Miss, it’s time to eat.”

Yun Sheng snapped back to reality and put down the scissors. “Oh, okay.”

As Yun Sheng entered the dining room, Qin Mingqian and Aunt Jin also came in. Qin Cisui was home today as well, as it was his day off.

“Why isn’t Brother home for dinner again?” Qin Cisui muttered.

Chen Jin scolded him with a laugh. “You’re afraid of him when he’s home, but you miss him when he’s not.”

Qin Cisui protested, “When have I ever been afraid of him!”

Qin Mingqian glared at him, and Qin Cisui timidly lowered his head.

“The company is working on an acquisition case recently, and your second uncle is causing trouble again. Do you think your brother is like you, idle all day long?”

As Qin Mingqian spoke, he looked at Yun Sheng. “You’ll start work next week. If you have any issues with your job, just ask your brother. He may seem cold, but he still cares about you in his heart.”

Yun Sheng pursed her lips and nodded. “Mm.”

Chen Jin ladled rib soup for Yun Sheng while smiling and saying, “I heard Yanchuan and Zhiying are getting along quite well. I wonder if their marriage can be settled this year.”

Yun Sheng’s hand, holding the chopsticks, paused slightly as she slowly swallowed the shrimp she had just eaten.

Qin Mingqian said, “It would be best if it could be settled. It’s time for him to get married. He’s always busy with work and doesn’t have anyone around who truly cares for him.”

The Qin and Han families had a collaborative project recently, and it was rumored that the two were interacting. However, Qin Mingqian wasn’t entirely sure about the specifics.

His son had always been emotionally distant and had never shown particular interest in anyone, so he couldn’t tell if Qin Yanchuan had any special feelings for Han Zhiying.

Chen Jin placed the rib soup in front of Yun Sheng. “I got up early this morning to stew it. Shengsheng, give it a try.”

Yun Sheng scooped a spoonful and tasted it, nodding. “It’s delicious.”

Yun Sheng rested at home for three days, and by Monday, she officially started work.

New Horizon’s office building was located in the heart of the CBD, occupying floors 17 to 27 of the Financial Tower. As one of the top advertising companies in the country, its presence was naturally impressive.

Standing in the ascending elevator, Yun Sheng carefully adjusted her appearance in the mirrored elevator doors.

It was her first day at work, and she dressed simply yet professionally: a white open-collar shirt paired with light blue jeans and beige low-heeled lambskin flats. To look more energetic, she tied her hair into a ponytail, with a few strands falling by her cheeks, which she gently tucked behind her ear.

With a “ding,” the elevator doors opened.

Yun Sheng stepped out of the elevator, took a deep breath, and pushed open the glass door to enter.

“Hello, I’m Wen Yunsheng, a new hire in the Creative Department reporting for duty today.”

The person in charge flipped through the list and nodded. “Your team is having a meeting in Conference Room 2. I’ll take you there.”

“Thank you.”

The person in charge led her directly to the conference room. “This is the new hire. Everyone, get to know her.”

Everyone in the conference room was from the Creative Department. When they saw Wen Yunsheng enter, they cheered, “Wow, she’s a beauty.”

The team leader tapped the table with a pen. “Be serious, all of you.”

Yun Sheng greeted them with a smile. “I’m Wen Yunsheng. I hope you’ll take care of me in the future.”

“Take a seat.”

Yun Sheng pulled out a swivel chair by the long table and sat down. The team leader said, “I’ve looked over your resume, it’s quite good. I heard you also participated in MCA’s advertising design?”

Yun Sheng nodded. “Back then, MCA held an open competition, soliciting creative ideas for Christmas advertisements. I signed up to participate and never expected my idea to be selected.”

She even received an $80,000 prize, which was also the first sum of money Yun Sheng ever earned.

She used that money to buy gifts for her family.

“Impressive! So last year’s MCA Christmas advertisement was your idea—another monster rookie.” The male colleague who had been stirring things up earlier clicked his tongue and shook his head.

The team leader smiled. “Welcome to our team.”

The creative department had three groups in total, operating in a competitive mode. Having another capable member was naturally a great boost.

“Thank you, team leader.” Yun Sheng smiled somewhat shyly.

“Alright, everyone should be here by now. Let’s start the meeting.”

The team leader turned on the computer, pulled up the PowerPoint for the new project, and prepared to get down to business.

Someone mentioned, “Lin Yanke hasn’t arrived yet.”

The team leader frowned. “We won’t wait for her. Let’s start directly.”

The meeting lasted an hour, simply discussing the newly assigned project proposal.

Yun Sheng, having just arrived, wasn’t yet familiar with the brand situation, so she only listened in.

After the meeting, the team leader assigned another female colleague to continue familiarizing her with the workflow and environment.

“Our creative department occupies the entire 21st floor, but it’s divided into three zones. Usually, we don’t interfere with each other, each responsible for our own projects. However, at the end of the year, the group with the highest performance is evaluated and receives a bonus.”

Wang Ruohan led her around the company, explaining everything in detail.

“Our group is pretty relaxed. If a project is urgent, overtime happens, but usually, slacking off a bit is overlooked by the team leader. As long as your work is solid, he’s easy to talk to. Did you see how friendly he was with you earlier?”

Yun Sheng: “…He was indeed quite amiable.”

“An illusion! If you can’t deliver results or produce good work, he won’t be as easygoing as he was today.” Wang Ruohan lowered her voice, speaking as if it were a serious matter.

Yun Sheng nodded earnestly. “I’ll work hard.”

“Hey, but with such strong skills, you don’t need to worry too much.”

Yun Sheng smiled. “Thank you.”

Wang Ruohan was momentarily dazed, then thought for a moment and added, “Since you’re so good-looking, I’ll give you another reminder.”

Yun Sheng was taken aback. “What is it?”

Wang Ruohan lifted her chin, signaling Yun Sheng to look ahead.

Yun Sheng looked over and happened to see a stylishly dressed woman walking in. She wore eight-centimeter stilettos, a tube top paired with shorts, and her long, straight black hair cascaded down her shoulders, making her seem to walk with a breeze.

She had just entered the company and was leaning against the glass door, chatting and laughing with a producer.

Wang Ruohan lowered her voice. “In this company, it’s fine to offend the team leader, but you must never offend her.”

Yun Sheng asked, “Why?”

“She’s a rich young lady, untouchable. She’s just here to have fun, not like us hardworking employees. She was two hours late today, and no one said a thing.”

Yun Sheng pursed her lips and nodded. “Understood.”

Wang Ruohan winked conspiratorially. “Do you know who her background is?”

Yun Sheng wasn’t originally interested, but seeing Wang Ruohan’s tantalizing demeanor, she suddenly felt a bit curious.

She whispered, “Who is it?””Qin Yanchuan, the CEO of Xinyu Group, you must have heard of him, right?”

As a top-tier wealthy family in the capital’s circle, the name Qin Yanchuan carries weight—once spoken, it never lands lightly.

Yun Sheng froze for a moment: “Huh?”

Wang Ruohan: “He’s her future brother-in-law.”
