(Caleb's POV)
Near the Abandoned Church Ruins, I was riding Frosty on the lower region. I remember coming past this area while I was on the way to the location for my Base when I was first thrown into this. I had spent days building my base and fucking the pals, not being able to explore much of this first area.
I remember the Mammorest near the starting area, which is definitely something I will have to go and get soon. Not only that, I'm sure that there was a King Apalca Alpha Boss somewhere nearby, so I might have to go and get that too. It will allow me to progress the Tasks much faster.
"Hm..." I said as I noticed an entrance to what looked like a mineshaft, "Oh what's that?"
Ignoring the Hangyus that were floating nearby, I steered Frosty towards the mineshaft.
"Oh, that's right." I said, "Isn't there a Black Marketeer inside here?"
I got off from Frosty as I reached the entrance, pulling him back onto the sphere as he let out a fading chirp.
I then walked inside the shaft, making my way down inside. After traversing the dark corridor, I reached the chamber inside, seeing the massive man that was on the far end of the chamber. He was next to what looked like some iron cages that were empty, under a lantern's light.
I walked up to him, "Hello."
He looked at me, giving me a grin under his creepy mask, "Well, hello there." He said, "Are you here to do business?"
"Sure." I said, "You got Pals, right?"
"That's right." He said as he showed me his device, "Take a look."
The tablet device emitted a projection, showing a large screen that had a list of Pals:
[Black Marketeer: Buy]
- Daedream [1330]
- Katress [2430]
- Incineram [4870]
- Loupmoon [2400]
- Helzephyr [3700]
- Menasting [4050]
"Hm, that's something alright." I said, looking at my own current amount of gold
[Gold: 4300]
I'm broke. Best I can do is either the Daedream, Katress, Helzephyr, or the Menasting.
But the thing is, all of them would be really useful. I would like Daedream because of her passive, if it works. I can have her in my party and she'll be floating around me without having to pull her out. Which means that I can have 3 Pals active; Ryou, Frosty, and the Daedream!
Not only that, Helzephyr is neat flyer mount to have already. But I would need to have the Saddle. But, with the Technology Unlocks and Free Crafts, that shouldn't be a problem.
Incineram and Menasting would be useful for mining, that much is true.
But the issue is that I don't have much money. I ought to figure out a good way to make lots of gold consistently.
I sighed, "Well...."
"Are you going to buy or not?" He asked
"Relax, I'm thinking." i told him
"Thinking of what?" He closed his tablet screen, "You a cop?"
I shook my head, "No." I said, "I don't have enough gold for all of them."
"Then fuck off." I said
"Hey, where do you get them anyways?" I asked
"Don't worry about where I get them." He said with a scoff, "Worry about what you'll buy."
"What do you do with them?" I asked, "Like, when you acquire them?"
"Nothing. Not that it's your business." He said, "But I just capture them."
"Hm...." I said, "Well, I would like them.... "
"Then buy them." He said with an annoyed tone
As I stood there, the System Screen appeared.
[New Tasks]
- Capture a Black Marketeer [Reward: Free Inventory]
- Breed an Incineram and Katress [Reward: Vanguard Charm]
- Fuck a Daedream in Wild Form [Reward: Ring of Mercy]
I shouldn't worry about feeling bad that I capture these guys right?
I mean, it's not personal.
"Okay." I said, pulling out my gun and summoning Ryou, "Look man, don't think too much on this."
He stepped back, "What?"
I pointed my gun, "This is just business." I shot him in the head, "Don't take it personally."
He jerked back violently, a spark of blue appearing on his head; he probably had a shield on.
"Agh!" He said, "You fucking-"
Ryou appeared behind him, having already sheathed his blade. The Black Marketeer was struck with a vicious spark, having been hit with a swift Iaigiri that my boy did on him.
He collapsed to the ground, "Fuck! You bastard! You-"
I tossed a Sphere at him, sucking him in.
"....67%"
".....86%"
"...100%"
"There you go." I said, grabbing the sphere, "One Black Marketeer."
The System switched pages:
[Task Completed: Capture a Black Marketeer]
- Rewards: Free Inventory
- Having the Marketeer in Your Base Will Give You Access To Black Market Pals
- The Inventory Refreshes Every Two Day
[Free Inventory Received]
- Daedream
- Katress
- Incineram
- Loupmoon
- Helzephyr
- Menasting
[New Breeding Task Unlocked]
- Breed Helzephyr [Reward: Helzephyr's Saddle]
"Okay." I said, "Now, this is quite something alright."
I looked at Ryou, who was simply standing there, menacingly.
"You did good, my boy." I said, turning around, "Let's go."
"We have work to do."
***************
After returning to the base, I stood at the top of a built platform, looking around the base. I then saw beyond the small cliff that I build this base on, seeing a large open space at the bottom.
It looked like a prime spot to start a Mining Base. I just build the walls and put the mining stations on them.
With the mining Pals I got, I might be able to Breed enhanced versions of them.
I need to breed the Helzephyr to get the saddle, as well as the Incineram, Katress, and Daedream to get the Ring of Mercy and the Vanguard Charm. Those items would be more than useful when going around and obtaining more pals.
There was so much fucking I had to do. So much breeding.
I placed my hand on my chin, "Hm..." I said, "Mining Base....and Farming Base...."
I then glanced over to the side, seeing Demeter floating around, giving smiles to the nearby Pals.
"Hm...." I said, "It's time...."
"Time to breed my Demeter."
