Evren leaned forward slightly, resting one hand on the table as a chilling smirk touched his lips: "You were saying something about my manor, Boros?"
Vice-Master Boros stared at Evren, his scarred face turning deep purple. Veins bulged out on his thick neck. He clenched his fists so tightly that his spiked war hammer rattled against the glass table.
"You got lucky, kid," Boros spat through gritted teeth. "Enjoy your mountain fortress while you can. The Ironfang Guild remembers every insult."
Evren didn’t even blink. He met Boros’s murderous glare with a mocking smile. "Make sure you close the door on your way out."
Boros sneered, grabbing his war hammer and storming out of the 40th-floor executive suite. The heavy double doors slammed shut behind the Ironfang entourage.
Attorney Raymond carefully placed the authenticated sovereign deed and the official municipal transfer certificates into a leather briefcase, handing it to Evren with a respectful bow.
"Congratulations, Chairman Evren. The Imperial Crest Manor is legally yours."
Mikay let out another long, euphoric breath, wiping the last traces of sweat from his neck. "Chairman, this was a miracle! I will immediately contact our premier VIP concierge to hire a sixty-person estate staff, groundskeepers, and an armored security convoy for the move-in this afternoon!"
"Hold off on that, Mikay," Evren said calmly, tucking the golden master keys into his coat pocket.
Mikay blinked in confusion. "Sir?"
"Keep the deed in the bank’s secure vault for now," Evren instructed smoothly. "Don’t hire any staff or book the moving service yet. I have a few private matters to settle first. We’ll proceed with the grand move-in on Monday once the bank’s compliance review clears."
Mikay nodded with deep respect, assuming his enigmatic young chairman had a grand strategic timeline in mind. "Understood, Chairman. Everything will be ready at your command."
Evren walked out of Horizon Plaza, taking a brisk jog through the quiet streets back toward Apex Tower.
In reality, there was no grand strategic delay.
Evren was simply following the golden rule of reality: he had $0.00 in liquid cash.
With his bank accounts locked under the 48-hour Post No Debit hold, he couldn’t even pay a five-dollar tip, let alone hire a luxury sixty-person household staff.
Twenty minutes later, Evren stepped through the front door of the Crown Penthouse.
The quiet apartment was filled with the soft scent of lavender. Amber sat in her wheelchair near the floor-to-ceiling windows, looking out over the city skyline.
When she heard the door latch click, she quickly turned around, her eyes lighting up with anticipation.
"Evren! You’re back," Amber called softly, rolling toward the foyer. "Did you manage to wrap everything up?"
Evren smiled, walking over to the couch. He pulled the obsidian box from his pocket and opened it, revealing the golden biometric master keys resting on black velvet.
"Wrapped up and officially sealed," Evren said, handing her the velvet box. "The contract is signed, the settlement is cleared, and the deed is officially registered. We own the Imperial Crest Manor."
Amber froze. Her breath caught in her throat.
"The... The Imperial Crest Manor?!" Amber stammered in utter disbelief, her eyes darting between the golden keys and Evren’s calm face.
"Yes," Evren replied with a warm chuckle. "Every single acre of it."
Amber gently touched the cool gold keys, her fingers trembling slightly as the reality sank in.
"Fifty acres on Victoria Hill..." Amber whispered in genuine awe. "Evren, that’s the newly completed sovereign estate everyone in high society has been fighting over... It’s really ours?"
"It’s completely ours," Evren said, sitting down on the armrest beside her wheelchair.
Amber looked at him, completely bewildered. She had watched him go from a humble delivery courier to renting an S-Rank penthouse, and now buying a fifty-million-dollar mountain fortress in less than a week.
"Evren..." Amber asked softly, tilting her head with genuine curiosity and a faint, overwhelmed smile. "Just... just how rich are you?"
Evren looked at her, his lips twitching with amusement. He rubbed the back of his neck, letting out a sheepish laugh.
"Well... usually, rich enough to buy a mountain," Evren replied with a playful grin.
Then, he patted his completely empty coat pockets.
"Though right now? Broke enough that I can’t even afford to buy us lunch."
Amber blinked in surprise. "What?"
"Because of the emergency settlement methods I had to use this morning, the Central Bank flagged my accounts for a standard compliance review," Evren explained. "My cards are frozen until Monday morning. So sitting right in front of you is a billionaire who literally has zero dollars in his pocket."
Amber stared at him for three seconds in stunned silence.
Then, she burst into a soft, musical laugh.
It was the most vibrant, carefree laugh Evren had ever heard from her. The lingering gloom from her past seemed to vanish entirely in that single moment.
"A broke billionaire?" Amber teased gently.
She reached into the deep pocket of her soft lavender knit sweater. Her slender fingers searched inside before pulling out a neatly folded, slightly crumpled green bill.
She held it up between two fingers like a prized trophy.
It was a $50.00 bill.
"I kept this hidden in my silver locket before my uncle threw me out of the Sterling estate," Amber said proudly, her cheeks flushing with a lovely pink warmth as she pressed the bill into Evren’s palm. "I’ve been saving it for an emergency."
She looked up at Evren with a radiant, playful smile.
"Today, you are off duty. I am taking you out for lunch. My treat."
Evren looked down at the crumpled fifty-dollar bill resting in his hand, feeling a deep, genuine warmth spread through his chest.
Giselle had abandoned him the second his bank account dried up. Yet here was Amber, holding the master deed to a fifty-million-dollar estate, happily offering him every single penny she had in the world.
"Alright," Evren smiled softly, gently closing his fingers over the bill. "Lead the way, boss lady."
