Qing grinned internally when he heard her question. "My name is Qing Lan, Senior Yue."

’Heh... Master’s teachings are handy even in these situations.’ He thought before looking back toward the enormous Formation spreading across the sky. He then spoke again, "Senior Yue, if you don’t mind, I would like you to take me to the centre of that Formation. That’s where the core of the Formation lies, and it should be quite difficult to destroy because it might have some sort of defensive Formation layered over it."

"With my Cultivation Level, I doubt I can breach that defensive Formation. That task is where you come in. You will have to destroy both the defensive Formation and the core itself, and with that, the Invasion should never take place. All the Demons hidden inside those spatial folds will die along with the Formation." Qing explained without hesitation, knowing that if he wanted them to believe him, he needed to piece every part of his explanation together in simple and understandable terms.Full novel: Paradox: Sign-In Across Two Worlds — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Hearing his explanation, Yue nodded before raising one of her hands. Spiritual Energy immediately gathered around her body as she began floating in the air, and Qing soon felt the force of gravity disappearing from his body as he also started floating. Without wasting any time, Yue flew toward the centre of the Giant Formation at full speed, while Qing moved along with her, his body being carried forward by the Spiritual Energy that she had wrapped around him with her technique.

’She might be one of the more talented disciples of the sect. Her technique has already been refined to almost perfection even though she is only at the Golden Core Stage...’ Qing observed the Spiritual Energy surrounding him as they moved through the sky.

He knew very well that perfecting any Technique required a great deal of practice and understanding, and from Yue’s young appearance, he could tell that she absurd talent to almost perfect a technique at this age and not to mention the effort into mastering this flying ability. The fact that she could maintain her speed while carrying another person without causing instability showed that she had already gained an extremely high level of control over her Spiritual Energy.

However, what surprised Qing even more was the speed at which she was taking him. It was ridiculous. Within only a few seconds, the two of them were already in front of the centre of the Giant Formation, which itself was at least hundreds, if not thousands, of kilometres above the ground. Qing felt his body gradually coming to a halt behind Yue as she stopped in front of the Formation, and after stabilizing himself in the thin air, he stepped forward.

Yue continued pouring her Spiritual Energy beneath Qing’s feet so that he wouldn’t fall, allowing him to calmly move forward through the air. Qing approached the centre of the Formation and stopped approximately two meters away from it, his eyes immediately focusing on the complicated structure in front of him. "Oh? I see..." Qing muttered, causing Yue, who was standing behind him, to frown slightly before asking, "What is it?"

After a brief pause, Qing began speaking, "Senior Yue, this Formation has three layers. The outermost layer is only responsible for concealing the Demons, while the second layer continuously supplies energy to the entire Formation and maintains its structure. And... there is also a spatial domain where the core is functioning. We may encounter some troublesome Demons guarding the core there."

Yue immediately narrowed her eyes and looked at the enormous Formation. Even after spreading across hundreds of kilometres, it didn’t seem to have any end, and it was still expanding farther into the sky with every passing moment. She turned toward Qing again before speaking, "Killing a few Demons would be easier than trying to kill a hundred thousand of them after they come out of this. Let’s go and destroy the core."

Qing nodded before saying, "Although you might think I could become a burden and that you would have to save me from those Demons, I should mention that I am quite good at slipping away with the only Technique I have, so I assure you, don’t worry about me and try to kill them while I deactivate the defensive Formation first."

Yue paused for a second before nodding. She was slightly impressed that someone at such a low Cultivation Level could remain this perceptive even in a situation where hundreds of thousands of Demons might soon emerge. ’It seems like he is truly a born genius.’ She thought while looking at Qing for another moment before stepping forward.

With a gesture from Qing, both of them reached toward the centre of the Formation at the same time. The moment their bodies touched the centre, a strange spatial fluctuation spread through the surrounding air before their figures were instantly sucked inside and disappeared.

The sudden disappearance made the other cultivators who had been watching from below widen their eyes and frown in confusion. "What? Senior Yue and that man disappeared?!" One of the Stoneheart Sect cultivators shouted as he looked toward the place where they had been standing only moments ago.

The Formation trainee named Han looked at their pale and slightly panicked faces before sighing and speaking, "They did not disappear. It is most likely that they went inside the spatial domain where the core of the Formation is being guarded. I have heard about such measures from the Elders of the sect, and from the scale of that spatial domain, I can tell that it will be quite difficult to destroy the core."

The other cultivators looked toward Han with expressions of awe mixed with panic after hearing his words. Seeing their reactions, Han turned his gaze toward the sky again before speaking, "But there is nothing to worry about. Senior Yue is strong, and she is far beyond normal geniuses, so don’t worry. They will successfully destroy the Formation core."

With those words, Han continued staring toward the enormous Formation in the sky, hoping that his confidence in Senior Yue would prove correct.
