My eyes wandered across the status panel as I tried to make sense of its contents.
Most of it was information any hunter could pull up at the Hunter Association.
’At least I don’t have to go there every month just to check my stats.’
The rest of it, though, was unfamiliar, things like the vitality stats, which made me feel like I’d been dropped into a video game. There were also items and sync rates, world records, CRIT HIT Rate, and, most confusing of all, "Blessings."
As an Earthling, I had a basic understanding of what blessings were, since I’d played games, watched shows, and read novels before enlisting into the military. But that was fiction.
In a world where skills were the established norm, how were blessings supposed to fit alongside them?
Were blessings gifts from God, while skills were something we forged ourselves?
That, I didn’t know. And since there was no way to find out, I saw no point dwelling on it.
I spared one last glance at my status panel before swiping it to the side. The interface that floated up in its place was the system store.

"That’s... a lot of things."
[Actually I gave you the home page, not the extended version.]
I gave a small nod, eyes running across the whole interface.
Although I wanted to learn as much as possible about the system, I held back from clicking through its options.
For most of the categories, it was already obvious what they did and what kind of items they’d pull up, like ’Food & Consumables’ bringing up food and survival gear, or ’Weapons’ bringing up weapons.
Since I’d come here specifically for the luck card, I tapped into Skills & Skill Cards.
The list that opened was longer than I expected, packed with skills like ’Fire ball’, ’Sun God Physique’, ’Telepathy’, and so on.
But the price tag beside each one was obscene. Even ’Fire ball’, which should’ve been a basic skill, cost five fucking thousand dollars, and that was just for the G-rank version, not even the almighty SSS-rank or Z-rank fireball.
’Does the system want me to ever get strong?’
I couldn’t help thinking that the system might actually be against me and my prosperity.
I sighed and kept scrolling until I finally reached the luck card section, where there were different types to choose from, ranging from cards that lasted ten minutes to ones that lasted days.
From what I could see in their descriptions, the prices weren’t just set by how long they lasted, but also by how much luck they granted their users.
Out of all the ones within my price range, only three caught my attention.
...
▸ Green Luck Card (LV. 1): Can add 200% to the user’s own luck and lasts for three days.
*Price: 1,780 SC
▸ Clover Luck Card (LV. 1): Can give the user ’Infinite Luck’ but only lasts for five to ten minutes.
*Price: 1,350 SC
▸ Lepricon Luck Card (LV.1): Gives a random percent of luck to the user for one day straight.
*Price: 500 SC
...
Even after narrowing the pile down to three, I still couldn’t decide which to buy.
They all looked incredibly tempting. The Green Luck Card only added 200% to my shit luck, but it lasted three days, which gave me enough time to earn money even through trial and error.
The Clover Card, on the other hand, gave far more luck, just for a much shorter window.
I leaned back against the seat, chin propped on my hand, eyes narrowed at the screen. "This one is quite good."
The only issue was the clover card’s painfully short duration.
Obviously, I could make a lot of money in five minutes with infinite luck. But doing it without drawing attention was another matter entirely.
There was also the option of buying lottery cards or dumping my money into Mitcoin. Still, my rotten luck could turn the lottery card useless the moment those five minutes ran out?
I shook my head, shifting my focus to the last card. "The clover card is too unpredictable."
Perhaps if it were cheaper, I could’ve bought it without hesitation.
The Lepricon Card, meanwhile, was exactly the price I needed, since I could buy two of them and still have enough coins left for other things.
The problem was that it didn’t guarantee a fixed amount of luck. The amount granted depended entirely on the user’s own luck stat.
After a long moment of thought, I finally decided which card to buy. Each had its own strengths and weaknesses, but one stood out above the rest.
I hesitated for a moment before tapping my choice. Almost immediately, the glow of the system filled the room as the notification of my purchase chimed in my ear.
I let out a heavy breath. "Guess no going back now."
My fingers moved across the interface once more, scrolling down to "Simulations & Trials."
Although I’d seen it before and wanted to ignore it, I felt a strange pull toward the category, as if the system itself were nudging me to click on it.
Just as I reached for it, the door of the karaoke room swung open, and a young man in a butler suit stepped in. "Sir, you have reached your time limit. Can you step out for the next set of guests?" he asked, adjusting his cuffs.
I glanced at my phone, only then realizing how much time had passed since I’d arrived with Aunt Mary.
"Then I’ll take my leave," I said, stepping past him and out of the room.
It was already six in the evening, right around the hour when casinos and lottery shops kicked into full swing.
That meant it was time to go gambling.
