“Bulba…

Bulba…” (Wake up~ The sun is going to shine on your butt~)

In her groggy state, Lucy felt something soft gently poking her cheek, as light as a feather.Full novel: Pokemon: I Became a Farmer with the Voice of All Things — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Opening her eyes, she saw Bulbasaur standing by the bed, its emerald Vine Whip curled into little hooks, gently tapping her face.

Its black, glossy eyes were sparkling, and its tail was tilted up, full of anticipation.

“Mmm…

what time is it now…” Lucy fumbled to find the alarm clock on the bedside table and squinted at it: 6:05 AM.

She let out a huge yawn and sat up to rub her eyes; her whole body ached—she had exhausted herself cleaning up the farm yesterday.

A soft, delicate voice came from the window: “Budew…” (Bulbasaur woke up before dawn!

It wandered around the room several times and even secretly peeked at you from the bedside~)

Lucy turned her head and saw Budew curled up in its little cotton-padded nest; its pink flower bud was half-open, its two leaves were drooping, and its eyes were only showing a tiny slit.

Even its voice had a nasal tone—it looked groggy, as if it hadn’t slept enough.

“Alright, alright, I’m getting up now~” Lucy smiled, threw off the quilt, rubbed Bulbasaur’s head, and gently touched Budew’s flower bud.

“Looking at you two, are you starving?”

“Bulba!” (Starving, starving!) Bulbasaur nodded immediately, its Vine Whip waving excitedly in the air.

It accidentally swept the pillow by the bed, quickly used its Vine Whip to straighten it back up, tilted its head, and stuck out its little tongue.

“Budew…” (I, I want to eat something sweet…) Budew’s voice was as soft as a mosquito’s buzzing.

Its flower bud swayed gently, and its two leaves quietly covered the bud, full of shyness.

Breakfast was bread with homemade Berries jam; Lucy specially sprinkled grass seed powder on Bulbasaur’s portion and mixed fresh pink petals into Budew’s jam.

Bulbasaur held its little plate and ate quickly with a “crunch, crunch” sound, its Vine Whip occasionally wiping the jam from the corners of its mouth.

When it got excited, it even curled up a small piece of bread and offered it to Lucy: “Bulba?” (You eat too~)

Budew, on the other hand, ate slowly, taking small bites of the bread.

When it tasted the sweetness, its flower bud would sway gently, its leaves would unfold, and it would quietly rub against the edge of the plate.

After every bite, it would look up at Lucy, its little eyes full of an expectant look for praise.

“If you like it, eat more.” Lucy gently stroked its flower bud, and seeing the two Pokemon eating happily, her mouth curled up involuntarily.

After breakfast, Lucy put on her work clothes, picked up a hoe, a small shovel, and a bamboo basket, and said to the two Pokemon, “Today we will first clear the half-acre of land in front of the house.

We’ll clear the weeds and loosen the soil so we can plant vegetables and nanab berry later.”

She assigned tasks clearly: “Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip to bundle up large patches of weeds and transport them to the compost heap.

Remember not to use too much force, or you’ll pull up the soil.

Budew, you are responsible for pulling up small weeds; use your leaves to wrap around the roots and pull gently.

If you can’t pull them out, call me; don’t force it.”

“Bulba!” (Watch me!) Bulbasaur immediately stood up straight, its two Vine Whip extending with a “swish,” waving flexibly in the air, and even specially touched the ground gently to warm up.

Budew’s flower bud nodded gently, a bit hesitant: “Budew…” (I’m afraid I can’t pull out the big ones…)

“It’s okay, you’re careful; clearing out the small weeds is already super impressive.”

Lucy crouched down and patted its leaves; Budew’s leaves immediately straightened up, and it replied softly: “Budew!” (I will work hard!)

Lucy picked up the hoe and started working.

As soon as her palm touched the hoe handle, she clearly perceived the condition of the soil: where the roots were deep, where the soil was compacted and needed more tilling, and she could even feel the movement trails of small insects underground.

She swung the hoe following her intuition, cutting the roots with a single strike, saving effort and being highly efficient; this ability seemed stronger than yesterday.

Bulbasaur was full of energy; a single roll of its Vine Whip would bundle up a large handful of weeds, tied neatly.

However, sometimes it was too excited and would use too much force, rolling up the soil along with the weeds.

It would then quickly put the soil back gently and whisper a couple of “Bulba” apologies to the dirt, looking both serious and cute.

Budew was exceptionally careful; it would first use its leaves to push aside the soil around the weeds, find the roots, and then gently wrap them to pull upward.

Every time it pulled one out, it would look up at Lucy to claim credit.

When it encountered thicker weeds, its flower bud would turn red from effort, its little body leaning back as it pulled hard.

The moment it pulled it out, it would stumble two steps, then steady itself and shout happily: “Budew!” (I pulled it out!)

Lucy would smile and praise it every time, making Budew even more motivated.

The sun slowly rose, and the temperature climbed.

Lucy wiped the sweat from her forehead and called the two Pokemon to rest: “Let’s take a break, drink some water, and have some dried Berries; we’ll continue in the afternoon.”

She brought out cool boiled water and dried Berries from the house.

Bulbasaur immediately lay at her feet, panting with its tongue out, its Vine Whip hanging limply, and its tail gently brushing against her pant leg to Charm.

Budew quickly hid in her shadow, its two leaves gently fanning to cool down, panting slightly: “Budew…” (It’s so hot…)

Lucy poured water for Bulbasaur and put sweet dried Berries in Budew’s plate.

The two Pokemon ate happily, and Bulbasaur didn’t forget to use its Vine Whip to pass a berry to Budew.

Just then, a crisp female voice came from the farm entrance: “Hey…

is anyone there?”

Lucy looked up and saw a girl with a high ponytail waving in her direction.

As she ran, her ponytail swayed, full of energy.

The girl was wearing sportswear and was followed by two Pokemon: Grovyle and Breloom.

It was Circe!

Lucy recognized her from the original owner’s memories; she was the granddaughter of the Verdanturf Gym leader, a famous trainer in town, known for her cheerful and enthusiastic personality.

“Hello!” Circe jogged over with a bright smile.

“I’m Circe; I heard that Forest Dew has a new neighbor, so I came to see you!”

Grovyle crossed its arms over its chest and gave a cool nod: “Grovyle.” (Hello.)

Breloom bowed slightly, its voice steady: “Breloom.” (Nice to meet you, please take care of me.)

Lucy’s two Pokemon reacted immediately.

Bulbasaur quickly straightened up, but it was so nervous that its Vine Whip tangled together, and its ears drooped.

Budew “swished” behind Lucy’s legs, only peeking out with one eye, its body trembling slightly: “Budew…” (So, so imposing…)

“Hello, Circe, I’m Lucy.” Lucy stood up and gently patted Budew behind her legs to soothe it, smiling softly.

“Thank you for coming all this way.”

“I heard about what happened, your parents…

I’m so sorry.”

“It’s okay, it’s all in the past.” Lucy’s tone was calm, but it carried a sense of resilience.

Circe quickly recovered her cheerful demeanor, waved her hand, and said, “Let’s not talk about that!

You’re clearing the farm?

Do you need help?

My Grovyle’s Leaf Blade cuts weeds super fast, and Breloom is amazing at loosening soil!”

Upon hearing this, Grovyle’s arm blades instantly elongated and hardened, flashing with a sharp light: “Grovyle.” (A piece of cake.)

Breloom also clenched its fist, which glowed faintly, and nodded steadily: “Breloom.” (Happy to help.)

“This…

wouldn’t it be too much trouble for you?” Lucy felt a bit embarrassed.

“Not at all!” Circe rolled up her sleeves, staring at Bulbasaur and Budew with sparkling eyes.

“And your Pokemon are just too cute!

Can I play with them for a while?”

“Of course.” Lucy nodded with a smile.

Circe immediately crouched in front of Bulbasaur: “Your Vine Whip is so beautiful!

How do you usually train?”

“Bulba?” (Training?) Bulbasaur tilted its head, its Vine Whip swaying unconsciously.

“Bulba…” (Just using it to move things and pull weeds every day…)

“Just using it isn’t enough; you also need to learn control.” Circe said seriously.

“Grovyle, demonstrate!”

Grovyle walked to the center of the clearing, closed its eyes to sense the atmosphere, and after a few seconds, suddenly opened them.

Its blades suddenly elongated, rhythmically and precisely cutting through the air.

The movement was smooth and fluid, and finally, it retracted them with a “swish,” without even touching a single blade of grass at its feet.

Bulbasaur stared, its eyes wide with admiration: “Bulba…” (So amazing…)

“You can do it too!” Circe pointed to a thin branch not far away.

“Try using your Vine Whip to only curl around the branch, don’t touch the leaves, take it slow.”

Bulbasaur nodded, took a deep breath, and extended its Vine Whip.

The first time, it touched the leaves and drooped its head in frustration.

Lucy crouched down and patted its back: “Calm down, control your strength slowly, you can do it.”

Bulbasaur pulled itself together and tried again.

This time, its movements were much slower; it carefully adjusted the direction of the Vine Whip and finally steadily curled around the branch without touching a single leaf.

“Bulba!” (Success!) Bulbasaur jumped up excitedly, its Vine Whip holding the branch high, its eyes shining like stars.

On the other side, Budew slowly moved out from behind Lucy’s legs.

Breloom noticed it, slowed its pace, and walked over, its voice gentle: “Breloom?” (Are you afraid of me?)

“Budew…” (N-no…) Budew said softly, but its leaves were trembling slightly.

Breloom thought for a moment, gently plucked a pale yellow piece of healing spore powder from under its mushroom cap, and gently blew it toward Budew.

Budew was enveloped by the spore powder and instantly felt warm; its fatigue lessened significantly, and its flower bud relaxed and opened slightly.

“Breloom.” (A gift for meeting, it can help you relax.) Breloom said softly.

“Budew…” (Thank you…) Budew’s voice softened.

It even tentatively extended a leaf to touch Breloom’s fist, then quickly retracted it, its flower bud turning slightly red—it was extremely cute.

“Let’s get to work too!” Circe stood up and ordered, “Grovyle, the weeds on the left are yours, don’t touch the small saplings!

Breloom, be careful with the strength when turning the soil!”

The two Pokemon acted immediately.

Grovyle turned into a green afterimage and rushed into the weeds; as it swung its Leaf Blade, the weeds fell in patches, the cuts were neat, and it accurately avoided the small saplings.

Breloom knelt on one knee, tapped the ground with its fist to judge the soil quality, and then loosened the soil with punches; the soil clumps were uniform in size, and it completely avoided damaging the soil structure.

Lucy watched with secret admiration; this was how Pokemon that had undergone systematic training should look.

“Impressive, right?” Circe said proudly.

“They have been training with my grandfather for years.

Your Bulbasaur has great talent, the seed on its back has abundant energy, and if you train it well, it will definitely become strong!”

“Maybe it’s because I take it to bask in the sun every day and adjust its food according to its condition.” Lucy said with a smile.

Circe’s eyes lit up: “You know Pokemon care?

That’s great!

We should communicate more in the future!

By the way, what do you plan to plant?”

“First, I’ll plant some vegetables, and then I’ll try nanab berry.”

“nanab berry?” Circe’s eyes widened.

“Those are super hard to grow!

But if you manage to grow them, my grandfather will definitely buy them at a high price; the Gym Pokemon love them!

If you need seeds, come to me, my family has high-quality ones!”

“Really?

Thank you so much!” Lucy’s eyes brightened.

“You’re welcome!” Circe waved her hand.

“By the way, you can bring Bulbasaur to the Gym for training; my grandfather will guide you!”

“Once the farm is more stable, I will definitely visit.” Lucy nodded.

With the help of Circe and her Pokemon, the afternoon’s progress was astonishingly fast.

Before evening, the half-acre of land had been cleared, the weeds were piled into a small hill, and the soil was soft and level.

Lucy said gratefully, “Thank you all so much.”

“It’s a small matter!

I should head back; I still need to help my grandfather prepare for the challenge match tonight.

I’ll bring you the seeds tomorrow!” Circe waved goodbye and left with Grovyle and Breloom.

Bulbasaur waved its Vine Whip excitedly: “Bulba!” (See you tomorrow!)

Budew also said softly: “Budew…” (Thank you all…)

At dinner, Bulbasaur was still excitedly practicing its Vine Whip control, muttering: “Bulba!” (I curled around the branch ten times today without touching the leaves!)

Budew ate its meal in small bites, saying softly: “Budew…” (Breloom’s spore powder was so comfortable…)

“Do you like Circe and her Pokemon?” Lucy asked with a smile.

“Bulba!” (I like them!

Grovyle is super cool!) Bulbasaur nodded vigorously.

Budew also gently swayed its leaves: “Budew…” (I like them…

Breloom is very gentle…)

The next morning, Lucy was woken up by Bulbasaur’s Growl: “Bulba!

Bulba!” (Lucy, wake up quickly!

There’s a package!)

She walked to the door and saw an exquisite cloth bag containing high-quality vegetable and nanab berry seeds, along with a note from Circe: “These are my family’s high-quality seeds; the germination rate is super high!

I believe you will definitely be able to grow nanab berry!

Good luck!”

Lucy carried the seeds and took the two Pokemon to the cleared land.

She squatted down to dig holes; Bulbasaur carefully handed over the seeds with its Vine Whip, and Budew used its leaves to scoop up soil and gently cover them, its movements extremely careful.

“Tomato seeds should be planted shallowly, with a spacing of twenty centimeters.

nanab berry should be planted a bit deeper, leaving enough Growth space.”

Lucy taught them as she sowed the seeds with the two Pokemon.

Bulbasaur was responsible for watering, using its Vine Whip to hold a small watering can and precisely watering each hole.

Budew used its leaves to smooth out the soil surface and quietly cheered for the seeds: “Budew…” (Grow up quickly…)

Soon, all the seeds were planted.

Looking at the neat vegetable beds in front of her, Lucy was full of anticipation.

She could feel the seeds slowly absorbing water in the soil, containing vigorous vitality.

“Mission accomplished!” Lucy stood up, stretched, and said to the two Pokemon with a smile, “Next, we need to take good care of these seeds.

When they sprout and grow up, we’ll be able to eat the vegetables and nanab berry we grew ourselves!”

“Bulba!” (Great, great!) Bulbasaur waved its Vine Whip excitedly.

Budew also swayed its flower bud and replied softly: “Budew!” (Okay~)
