Late summer weather really changes in a flash.

As soon as Lucy refreshed the weather warning, she immediately clapped her hands and called over the farm’s Pokémon: “Everyone, come here, come here!

There’s a heavy rainstorm tonight, let’s get moving!”Full novel: Pokemon: I Became a Farmer with the Voice of All Things — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Carrying her tool bag, she walked outside, speaking quickly and with a hint of urgency: “Ivysaur, come with me to reinforce the greenhouse and the warehouse doors.

We need to check the fences too; if anything is loose, tighten it up immediately.

Roselia, elevate the seeds and pokéblocks in the warehouse so they don’t get soaked.

Also, lay out moisture-proof mats in everyone’s nests—be careful!

Lombre, take your squad to clear the pond’s drainage outlets.

Check the water level lines a few times; don’t let it overflow!”

“Da na!” Ivysaur responded, swinging its Vine Whip with enthusiasm.

Roselia lightly shook its two-colored rose hands and turned to run towards the warehouse.

With a “Holo,” Lombre led its team and splashed into the pond.

Lucy bent down and patted Turtwig’s shell: “Can you give me a hand, passing me nails, twine, and things like that?”

“Naito!” Turtwig cried out happily, its short legs moving quickly as it followed closely behind her.

Busy until evening, they finally finished all the preparations.

Lucy dug out some tarps and soft grass leaves, sitting under the eaves to rush-make raincoats for Ivysaur and Roselia: “You two need to double your patrols tonight.

Keep a close eye on that low-lying area in the northwest corner; wild animals have often tried to sneak in from there before.” She stitched them firmly, carefully leaving gaps for the Vine Whip and rose hands to move: “Wear these so you don’t get soaked like drowned rats.”

“Da na!” “Roselia!” Both Pokémon nodded vigorously.

As night fell, the rainstorm arrived as expected, pouring down so fiercely that it drummed loudly against the roof.

Most of the Pokémon stayed in the dry house.

Lombre and its team guarded the pond, watching the water levels, while Ivysaur and Roselia, wearing their raincoats, patrolled the farm, one on each side. The source of this chapter is g.com.

Roselia’s pink rose glowed faintly, creating a small energy field to shield them from the cold.

“Da na.” Ivysaur suddenly stopped, its Vine Whip pointing toward the northwest corner.

No sooner had it finished than two dark shadows “whooshed” into the farm!

They were two Mightyena, soaked to the bone, their fur matted against their bodies, so thin that their ribs were protruding.

Their eyes glowed terrifyingly in the dark night; it was clear they were starving and had been driven to take such a desperate risk.

“Da na—!” Ivysaur immediately roared a warning, its Vine Whip instantly pulled taut.

Roselia’s eyes narrowed; the light from its pink rose faded, while its blue rose lit up, several sharp Magical Leaf blades floating in front of it, ready to strike at any moment.

The Mightyena growled, baring their teeth as they lunged, attacking from the left and right.

Hearing the commotion, Lucy hurried to the door.

Not daring to rush forward, she shouted commands: “Ivysaur, use Vine Whip to block the one on the left!

Wrap around its front legs!

Roselia, use Magical Leaf to hold off the one on the right!

Don’t let it get close to you, keep your distance!”

Ivysaur roared, its two Vine Whips lashing out like lightning, precisely wrapping around the Mightyena’s front limbs.

But the Mightyena was truly agile; it twisted its body mid-air, its claws raking across the Vine Whip with a “shhh” sound, leaving streaks on the surface.

Ivysaur let out a low grunt of pain but didn’t let up, pulling the Vine Whip tight and forcefully suppressing most of the Mightyena’s lunge.

On the other side, the Mightyena had already lunged in front of Roselia, its bloodthirsty maw snapping forward with a foul stench!

Roselia didn’t retreat; instead, it hopped forward half a step, tilted its body, and swung its hand, launching the Magical Leaf blades floating before it.

Several green leaves spun through the wind, shooting straight toward the Mightyena’s face and legs.

Forced to dodge sideways, the Mightyena missed its pounce and crashed heavily into the mud, splashing water everywhere.

“Roselia, use Toxic Spikes!

Retreat!

She clenched her fists, watching the battlefield, terrified that they might get hurt.

Hearing this, Roselia swept its blue rose toward the ground, scattering countless small, purple-glowing Toxic Spikes into the muddy water, then used the momentum to hop back two steps.

The Mightyena, acting as if it had gone mad, charged forward regardless, stepping right into the pile of Toxic Spikes!

The sharp poisonous barbs pierced its paw, and it let out a “Yelp” of pain, its movements slowing down immediately as it began to limp.

At the same time, Ivysaur’s Razor Leaf arrived, dozens of sharp leaves shooting out in a fan shape, all striking the other Mightyena’s flank and shoulder.

The Mightyena grimaced in pain, its body covered in cuts, blood mixing with the mud as it dripped down.

Both Mightyena were injured, especially the poisoned one, whose breathing was becoming increasingly rapid, its belly heaving.

Yet, their eyes turned even redder.

It was as if they had been driven to a dead end; they let out a kind of dying howl and actually dragged their injured bodies to charge again!

The one on the left slammed into Ivysaur, while the one on the right, dragging its injured leg, lunged at Roselia, looking as if they wanted to take them down together.

“Watch out!” Lucy’s heart tightened.

Just as she was about to shout the next command— “Naito—!!!”

A youthful cry suddenly rang out.

Turtwig had run out at some point, its small body trembling violently in the rain, yet it stubbornly stood its ground at the doorway.

The little sapling on its back suddenly glowed with a vibrant green light!

A weak but clear pulse of life energy spread out, just enough to cover Ivysaur and Roselia—it was the Grassy Terrain it had triggered unintentionally!

A warm current flooded into their bodies, and Ivysaur and Roselia’s previously ragged breathing calmed down a bit.

Their stamina recovered slightly, and their spirits were immediately lifted.

But those two Mightyena, whether startled by Turtwig or simply unable to withstand their injuries and the poison any longer, suddenly stumbled in their charge.

After running a few steps, they collapsed into the mud with a “thud,” left only to pant heavily and whimper, the fierce glint in their eyes slowly fading into weakness and confusion.
