On the rocky battlefield, the two Pokémon were locked in battle.

Onix raised its head and glared furiously at Pidgeotto.

But no matter how it attacked, it could not hit Pidgeotto.Full novel: Pokemon: Inheriting the entire legacy, Ash is too all-powerful — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Calm down, Onix.

Even if it’s fast, its attacks can’t deal much damage to us.

But once our attack lands, we can deal fatal damage to it!”

Seeing Onix grow increasingly anxious, Brock, as its Trainer, could only speak up to soothe it.

With its Trainer’s reassurance, Onix immediately calmed down.

But naturally, Ash would not let that chance slip by.

He shouted decisively, “Pidgeotto, now it’s our turn to attack!

Use Quick Attack!”

“Pidgeo—”

In midair, Pidgeotto flapped its wings, and its body suddenly accelerated.

Covered in white light, it slammed into Onix.

Its extremely fast speed left behind a trail of afterimages, dazzling everyone who watched.

Onix had not even reacted before Pidgeotto’s attack struck it.

However, Onix was not afraid of Normal-type moves.

Quick Attack happened to be a Normal-type move, and just as its name suggested, it was as fast as lightning.

But as a price for that speed, the move’s power was quite ordinary.

Pidgeotto’s Quick Attack did not cause much damage to Onix.

This made both Onix and Brock raise the corners of their mouths.

A mere Quick Attack was nothing more than scraping in front of Onix.

But soon, neither the man nor the serpent could smile anymore.

Good news: the opponent’s damage was only scraping.

Bad news: the scraping was so fast that it became bone-scraping!

“Pidgeotto, use Quick Attack and Agility continuously!” Ash waved his hand.

There were no fancy operations.

There was only pure stat suppression.

Extremely fast flight speed, combined with the speed boost from Agility, plus Quick Attack’s already lightning-fast execution.

Such terrifying speed made it impossible for the already slow-moving Onix to even touch Pidgeotto.

Even when it used the long-range move Rock Throw, under that overwhelming difference in speed, it could not hit Pidgeotto at all.

Smack~

Smack~

The sound of repeated collisions rang out fiercely.

Facing Pidgeotto, who held such a huge advantage in speed, Onix was placed at an enormous disadvantage.

Under Pidgeotto’s rapid scraping attacks, Onix’s stamina dropped sharply and soon bottomed out.

At the critical moment, Onix endured the pain and opened its bloody maw to bite at Pidgeotto.

Faced with such a dangerous situation, Ash and Pidgeotto did not panic in the slightest.

Instead, Ash grew excited.

Pidgeotto, just like this, use Gust directly into Onix’s mouth!”

“Pidgeo—”

Pidgeotto stopped in front of Onix.

Its wings beat powerfully, and a fierce wind blasted toward Onix’s face, surging into its body through its mouth.

“Roar—”

Its fragile insides had been struck head-on by a move.

Even Onix found it hard to withstand.

A howl echoed throughout the entire Pewter Gym.

In the end, with a thunderous boom, Onix collapsed with resentment.

Brock’s mouth opened wide, almost large enough to fit an entire egg inside.

After a brief daze, Brock quickly accepted the fact that he had been defeated by Ash using a Flying-type Pokémon despite a type disadvantage.

He took out a Poké Ball and recalled the unconscious Onix.

Brock stepped forward with a smile on his face.

There was no gloom from defeat at all, only recognition of Ash.

“Your strength is indeed extraordinary.

This is the Pewter Gym’s Boulder Badge.

It represents that you have cleared the Pewter Gym.”

Brock extended his palm.

In his palm lay a Badge that shone like a gemstone.

Ash’s expression filled with joy.

Pidgeotto and Pikachu stood beside him, cheering excitedly.

“Great!

I got the Boulder Badge!” Ash said, reaching out with his right hand to take the Badge.

But at that moment, a little boy rushed out from the spectator seats beside the Gym.

His eyes were filled with tears, and the rims of his eyes were extremely red.

Clearly, he had just been crying.

“Impossible!

Big Brother Brock is the strongest Trainer!

There’s no way he could lose!

You must have cheated!” The little boy rushed forward and snatched the Boulder Badge from Brock’s hand.

“This Badge doesn’t belong to you!”

After saying that, the little boy ran away without looking back.

Ash, Misty, and the two Pokémon all raised their eyebrows as they watched the little boy’s back.

Pidgeotto even wanted to fly forward, catch the little boy, and take back the trophy it had worked so hard to win.

With its speed, it could probably do that very easily.

However, without Ash’s command, Pidgeotto did not act rashly.

“Who was that?

Even Ash frowned tightly, displeasure and a trace of anger appearing on his face.

His hard work had been denied, and he had even been falsely accused.

That was undoubtedly something that made one very angry.

However, judging from the boy’s appearance and the way he addressed Brock, he was probably Brock’s younger brother.

After realizing this, Ash decided not to take it to heart.

“I’m sorry.

That was my younger brother…” Brock lowered his head and apologized to Ash repeatedly.

He hurriedly took out a new Badge.

“This is the Boulder Badge.

Ash, congratulations on clearing the Pewter Gym.

I hope your next Gym challenges go smoothly, and that you shine brightly at the Pokémon League Conference.”

“I still have some matters to handle, so I won’t see you off.”

After saying that apologetically, Brock ran in the direction his younger brother had left.

Ash accepted the Badge and did not say anything more.

After recalling Pidgeotto, he left the Pewter Gym together with Misty.

The moment he pushed open the doors of the Pewter Gym, an illusory figure entered his sight.

It was a boy slightly older than Ash.

His appearance was ninety percent similar to Ash’s.

The only differences were that he was taller, looked more mature, and gave off a very approachable feeling.

Ash’s footsteps paused.

This was another version of himself from a parallel world.

He hurriedly stared into the other party’s eyes.

“What is your obsession?” Ash asked directly.

Misty and Pikachu, who were beside him, froze for a moment.

But this was not the first time something like this had happened, so after a brief pause, they quickly accepted and understood it.

“Ash, did you see your future self again?” Misty looked at Ash curiously, feeling that the boy before her was full of mysteries.

Ash nodded slightly but did not speak.

Breeder Ash’s gaze passed over Ash and stared directly at Brock inside the Pewter Gym.

Several seconds passed before Breeder Ash slowly spoke.

“In my world, Brock and I were traveling companions.

We worked hard together and both became Breeders.

But there has always been one regret in my heart.”

“I never helped him reconcile with his father.”

“My self of this world, please fulfill my obsession and resolve the resentment between Brock and his father.”
