The old man’s voice was loud and filled with anger.
His eyes were wide with fury, and he carried himself with dignity.
It seemed his status was not low.
After he spoke, the other museum staff beside him tugged at the hem of his clothes one after another.
“Director, have you lost your mind?”
“These people are Team Rocket!
Director, don’t drag us down with you if you want to die!”
But clearly, it was already too late.
As a Team Rocket executive, Proton was obviously not a good person.
He looked at the old man who dared to insult him.
His eyes narrowed slightly, like a venomous snake locking onto its prey, threatening and chilling.
“Respected old sir, getting angry is bad for your health,” Proton said, his voice as cold as frost that had not melted for a thousand years.
Although he was using polite language and speaking words of concern, his tone was filled with killing intent.
He reached up and adjusted his hat, covering half his face and revealing only his red-glowing eyes.
He looked sinister and terrifying.
When the Team Rocket members behind him saw Proton like this, they were so frightened that they retreated again and again.
Jessie, James, and Meowth, who were carrying out a mission under Proton for the first time, had no idea what was going on.
“What are you guys doing, meow?”
“What’s wrong?
What’s wrong?
Why is everyone backing away?”
“Something feels really bad about this.
Let’s back up too.”
The Team Rocket trio immediately followed the others and put some distance between themselves and Proton.
Meowth suddenly remembered something.
“Proton, one of Team Rocket’s executives, is used to speaking politely, but in reality, he’s the most ruthless of all the executives…” Meowth swallowed.
In an instant, he understood that the Team Rocket members pulling away simply did not want to be implicated by the old man who had spoken up.
Sure enough, in the next second, Proton’s expression changed abruptly.
He grabbed the old man by the hair and slammed him heavily into the ground.
The impact left the old man’s head bleeding, making him look utterly miserable.
“Old sir, please do not forget that we are the evil Team Rocket, while your current identity is nothing more than a hostage.”
“Any hostage who dares provoke their captors will meet an extremely tragic end.”
Proton narrowed his eyes, still using polite words, yet still radiating a fierce, murderous aura.
Just as Proton grabbed the old man’s head and was about to further demonstrate his behavior as a villainous executive, a shout came from the distance.
“Stop right there!”
“Pika, Pikapi!”
Proton’s movements paused.
Everyone looked toward the sound.
The three were two boys and one girl.
One of the boys wore a hat, and on his shoulder was a Pikachu as common as a stray dog on the roadside.
The other boy had dark skin all over, with his eyes narrowed into slits.
As for the girl, she had beautiful short orange hair, dressed lightly in a yellow tank top and denim shorts.
The three of them looked furious as they glared at Proton, who had attacked the old man.
They were none other than Ash and his group.
Originally, the three of them had only planned to quietly go around Team Rocket and leave Mt.
Moon.
But after seeing Proton’s violence against the old man, they could not help stepping in to stop him.
“It’s the twerp and the little girl!” James and the others widened their eyes.
Seeing familiar faces here, they could not help crying out in surprise.
Ash and his group’s loud shout was very effective.
Proton did indeed shift his attention onto the three of them.
He casually threw aside the old man in his hand, then glanced at Jessie, James, and the others.
“What?
You know them?” Proton said calmly.
The Team Rocket trio immediately answered respectfully, “Yes, Lord Proton.
Our plan to attack the Pokémon Center in Viridian City was ruined by those brats.”
Proton nodded slightly.
“Since they are old acquaintances, then you should properly entertain them.”
“I’ll leave these three troublesome children to you.
The rest of you, start moving the fossils.”
Under Proton’s command, the Team Rocket members quickly began to move.
The Team Rocket members acted very efficiently, and before long, they had collected all three fossils.
“Wait.
That fossilized egg seems to be a dead egg…” Proton raised an eyebrow and stepped forward to pick up the fossilized egg.
After turning it over and looking at it twice, Proton casually tossed it aside.
The old man who had been beaten by Proton quickly stepped forward and picked up the fossilized egg.
“Although this egg can no longer hatch, it has been perfectly preserved from ancient times until now.
It is a miracle of history, the tenacious struggle of life!” The old man clutched the fossilized egg tightly in his arms.
“Stubborn old fool.
Hmph.” Proton kicked the old man hard.
Seeing that Proton was still continuing to attack the old man, Ash could no longer endure it.
“Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!” Ash swung his right hand forward, and Pikachu immediately leapt out along his arm.
While in midair, Pikachu gathered all the strength in his body, and dazzling electricity condensed over his surface.
“Keep dreaming!
Your opponent is me!” Jessie said as she threw out the Poké Ball in her hand.
“Ekans, use Poison Sting!”
“Char—!”
Faced with this situation, Pikachu could only protect himself first and adjust the direction of Thunderbolt.
The swift thunder easily scattered the poisonous needles and continued straight toward Ekans.
“What!” Jessie was shocked.
The change in Pikachu’s strength was something she had never expected.
How long had it been since they parted in Viridian Forest?
Yet Pikachu’s Thunderbolt had already become this powerful.
Thunderbolt shattered Poison Sting, then struck Ekans without losing any power.
With just one attack, Ekans was shocked unconscious.
“That Pikachu’s strength is somewhat decent,” Proton said, looking at the scene with a hint of surprise.
He had not expected to see a Trainer with some skill in this small Mt.
Moon.
“But this kind of Pokémon is far too common.
I have no desire to steal it at all.” Proton shook his head and withdrew his gaze.
Compared to Pikachu, the fossils that could revive Aerodactyl and Anorith were clearly far more attractive to him.
“The fossils are in hand.
There is no longer any reason to remain in Mt.
Moon.”
“Everyone, begin the retreat!”
Proton led the Team Rocket members and began to withdraw.
“Damn it!
Don’t even think about running!” Ash gritted his teeth.
Just as he was about to have Pikachu launch another attack, James also made his move.
“If you want to interfere with Lord Proton, you’ll have to get past me first!”
“Koffing, come out!
Use Smokescreen!”
James sent out his Pokémon.
After Koffing appeared, it spewed thick smoke from the holes on its body.
Seeing this, Ash hurriedly sent out Pidgeotto.
“Pidgeotto, use Gust to blow this fog away!”
Pidgeotto quickly obeyed.
Each flap of its wings stirred up strong winds.
Under Pidgeotto’s Gust, the thick fog quickly dispersed.
But by the time the dense smoke had completely cleared, most of the Team Rocket members had already vanished without a trace.
Only Jessie, James, and Meowth’s trio remained.
“That guy still got away!” Ash clenched his fists and said unwillingly.
“Ash, calm down.
Let’s defeat these three Team Rocket members in front of us first and rescue the museum staff,” Brock said, trying to soothe Ash’s emotions.
Ash nodded.
Several gazes locked firmly onto the Team Rocket trio.
This made the Team Rocket trio feel a chill run down their spines.
