“Holy crap—”

The moment Mishiro caught sight of that spiky hair, he almost leaped out of his seat in the stands.

unmistakable!

Battle Legend Blue!

Listen up, kids—the farce is over.

This was a genuine Champion-tier Trainer!

And he was the lifelong rival of Battle Legend Red, fully deserving of the title.

Back when the Kanto Pokémon League Champion seat had been vacant for decades, he was the one who broke the curse single-handedly to become the first League Champion after the Kanto region’s split.

On top of that, he was the grandson of Professor Oak—the ultimate authority in Pokémon academia—and his older sister was a top-tier Pokémon Coordinator.

His background, status, and talent were beyond anything ordinary people could dream of.

So why was he showing up at Étoile Academy?

Mishiro couldn’t help feeling puzzled.

What bothered him even more was that nobody else around seemed to recognize Blue.

Granted, years had passed since Red became the Kanto Champion, and Kalos was far away from Kanto, but surely he shouldn’t be *this* unknown?

Just as Mishiro was speculating, the damn system voice suddenly rang out in his mind, giving him a jump.

[You have witnessed Battle Legend Blue with your own eyes and know his identity as the first Kanto League Champion.

Create Legend Profile?]

“Huh?!”

This sudden prompt left Mishiro completely bewildered.

He couldn’t understand why, after trying so many times before only to be told information was insufficient, a profile could suddenly be created when he hadn’t done anything.

“System, you better explain this!”

[Legendary tales are often built upon major events—so-called anchor points.

The occurrence of an event gives birth to a legend.

Once your understanding of a particular anchor point is deep enough, the corresponding profile can be created.]

[Blue himself is already a legendary Trainer.

The greatest event tied to him was becoming the first Kanto Champion, only to be defeated by Red.]

Now Mishiro understood.

It was precisely because he knew Blue’s past inside out that, upon seeing the man in person, all that information automatically consolidated into a profile.

Did this mean he could use his memories from his past life to quickly create profiles for other legendary figures just by witnessing them with his own eyes?

“Hmm…

not very realistic.”

Thinking it over, Mishiro realized that even if he knew certain characters’ lore, what if that information didn’t align with their actual legends?

Or worse, what if they didn’t have a legend at all, making it impossible to create a profile?

“Not super practical.

It’s probably better to just gather info online like usual, but it does offer a new avenue to test out over time.”

He looked down below.

There stood Blue with his hands in his pockets, striking his signature arrogant pose.

He didn’t even cast a second glance at the defeated Blueberry Elite Four member, strolling effortlessly past the downed Lucario alongside his Tyranitar, which radiated an overwhelming aura.

“Next!”

“So strong!”

At this moment, not only the people from Blueberry Academy but even Diantha in the stands looked surprised.

She could sense that this Tyranitar hadn’t evolved from Pupitar all that long ago, yet when facing the Blueberry Elite Four member’s Lucario, it had effortlessly dispatched its opponent before the crowd could even react.

The gap in strength between the two Trainers was simply immense…

The rules of this challenge match stipulated that each side could only send out one Pokémon in a single-round sudden death.

Soon after the first Blueberry Elite Four member fell, the second followed shortly after, eliminated when their Scolipede was crushed by Tyranitar.

Amarys, who had maintained an expressionless face until now, couldn’t stop cold sweat from breaking out on her forehead as she saw Blue smirking and walking toward her.

It was as if she could feel an unprecedented, invisible pressure.

Even Lacey, usually calm and composed, wore a much heavier expression now.

“This guy…

is strong!”

Drayton sat up straight, all his previous laziness vanishing completely.

His eyes were glued to the arena below; he could tell the two sides weren’t even on the same playing field.

Amarys’s Metagross was defeated in the blink of an eye.

Now, Lacey was the only Blueberry Elite Four member left.

The cheers of the Étoile Academy students reverberated through the arena, while the Blueberry Academy contingent looked pale and grim.

How the tables had turned.

Watching Blue walk toward Lacey’s field, Mishiro shook his head in sympathy.

He admitted these Elite Four members possessed solid skill, but in front of a true stat-monster, they were way out of their depth…

“Ho-ho, Clay’s daughter, huh?”

Blue paused and teased with a smirk.

He clearly knew Clay and was aware of his daughter.

However, Lacey had no recollection of the spiky-haired guy before her.

“I’ll hold the final line!”

Saying so, she threw her Poké Ball with a dead serious expression.

A flash of red light revealed an Excadrill on the field.

Though she specialized in Fairy-type Pokémon, that didn’t stop her from utilizing other types.

The battle erupted instantly.

“Drill Run!”

At Lacey’s command, Excadrill raised its arms, spinning them into a massive drill that charged straight at Tyranitar.

Blue had no intention of dodging whatsoever.

Instead, he casually waved a hand with a laugh.

“Iron Defense.”

“Tyran!”

Tyranitar crossed its arms, exerting its power as a metallic sheen swept across its armor.

In the next instant, the drill slammed hard against its chest, spinning wildly as if determined to pierce right through.

Yet after taking such a heavy blow, Tyranitar had pushed back less than ten centimeters.

The Drill Run failed to push the opponent back, and instead, closing the distance put Excadrill in grave danger.

Lacey realized something was wrong, but it was already too late.

Everything fell within Blue’s calculations.

Tyranitar grabbed Excadrill, slammed it violently into the ground, swung it around a few times, and hurled it completely out of the arena!

However, Lacey was no pushover.

As the head of the Blueberry Elite Four, she quickly adjusted her rhythm and shouted solemnly, “Charge in and use Brick Break!”

Knowing her chances were slim, she decided to create an opening for Drayton, who would go next, to preserve Blueberry Academy’s last shred of dignity.

She was confident Blue would keep using Tyranitar—that was just his arrogant style, and he wouldn’t change it lightly.

“An attrition battle?

Still too naive.”

Blue shook his head lightly.

The tactical thinking of these academy Trainers was far too formulaic.

Compared to a Trainer like him who had been traveling everywhere with Pokémon since he was eleven, they were like rank amateurs.

Without any suspense, Tyranitar ate the Brick Break head-on, then used Body Press to pin Excadrill violently to the ground, ending the battle in an instant.

“Gacha!”

Mishiro’s Excadrill grew furious seeing this from the stands.

Although it didn’t know that other Excadrill, seeing a fellow member of its species get bullied like that made it deeply annoyed, prompting a desire to step up and defend its kind.

Beside it, Mishiro pulled back his gaze and shook his head lightly, completely unsurprised by the result.

He decided to use this downtime to check the profile quest regarding Blue.

“Create profile!”

[Created Legend Profile: “Five-Minute Champion”]

[Just as people only remember first place, Battle Legend Red is the Kanto Champion recognized by the world.

Nobody knows about the former Champion who was speedrun in five minutes before he could even walk out the League gates.

So here’s the question…

why did Blue retain the memory of losing to Red?]

[Profile Quest: Defeat Battle Legend Blue in a Pokémon battle within 5 minutes to recreate the Gen 1 classic.]

[Side Quest: While performing the Profile Quest, you must wear a red jacket and a classic red Poké Ball hat.]

[Rewards: Blastoisinite, Pidgeotite (Side Quest), Legend Points × 300, Legend Points × 100 (Side Quest)]
