Entei had not returned yet, and Sunny had no idea where he had gone.

He led Hawlucha to a large stone inside the cave so he could rest, then walked deeper into the cave and brought back a collection of berries, placing them in front of his guest.

Hawlucha did not stand on ceremony.

After thanking him, he immediately began eating.

By the time he had nearly finished, Entei finally returned.

This time, he was carrying a large bulging sack that looked packed full of all sorts of things.

Curious, Sunny hurried over and opened it.

Inside were children’s clothes, shoes, snacks, toys, and many other miscellaneous items.

He blinked in surprise.

Where had all of this come from?

Knowing Entei’s personality, there was absolutely no chance he had stolen or robbed anyone.

But then…

How had he managed to obtain all these things without being discovered?

Entei briefly explained.

He had happened to meet the former candidate for the Rainbow Hero and had asked him to purchase everything.

It seemed Entei trusted that former Rainbow Hero quite a bit.

Not only had Entei openly appeared before him, but after hearing Entei’s request, the man had refrained from asking unnecessary questions.

He had even thoughtfully bought several additional items that children generally liked.

Yet somehow…

Learning that Entei knew other humans left an odd feeling in Sunny’s heart.

It felt…

A little sour.

He realized that his childish possessiveness seemed to be getting worse and worse.

Seeing the disappointment on Sunny’s face, Entei immediately guessed what he was thinking.

He raised one forepaw and gently patted Sunny on the shoulder.

“Don’t overthink it.”

“We’re only acquaintances.”

“Compared to you…”

“He isn’t even close.”

Having his little thoughts exposed made Sunny feel rather embarrassed.

Fortunately, he recovered almost instantly.

As long as I’m not embarrassed, then the embarrassed one will be someone else.

Hawlucha silently watched the interaction between the two.

Although Sunny had already told him during their journey that he had a Pokémon father, Hawlucha had not completely believed it.

Now that he had witnessed everything with his own eyes…

It was actually true.

Even so, he still found it slightly unbelievable.

When Entei entered the cave, he had immediately noticed the unfamiliar Pokémon resting inside.

However, he deliberately chose not to ask any questions at first.

He waited patiently for Sunny to explain.

“Dad,” Sunny began introducing them, “this is Hawlucha, a Pokémon from the Kalos region.”

Then he turned toward Hawlucha.

“Hawlucha, this is Entei, one of Johto’s Legendary Beasts.”

“And…”

“He is also my beloved dad.”

Looking at Entei, Hawlucha instinctively felt an overwhelming sense of awe.

Such terrifying pressure…

The Pokémon standing before him had to be unimaginably powerful.

He doubted he could survive even a single move from Entei.

As a Fighting-type Pokémon who respected strength above all else, Hawlucha naturally lived by the belief that the strong deserved respect.

He immediately bowed deeply toward Entei, expressing both obedience and respect.

Entei had long since grown accustomed to unfamiliar Pokémon treating him this way.

He simply nodded, acknowledging Hawlucha’s presence.

Standing nearby, Sunny carefully recounted everything that had happened from beginning to end.

The moment Entei learned about the Pokémon hunters…

An overwhelming wave of fury erupted inside him.

He deliberately restrained himself because his child and a guest were both present.

Still…

The murderous intent burning within his eyes could not be hidden.

When someone truly wanted to kill another…

Their gaze revealed everything.

The sheer hostility radiating from Entei made Hawlucha’s scalp tingle.

His body unconsciously began trembling.

Sunny, on the other hand, was not particularly frightened. This chapter was copied from g.com without permission.

After all, he had occasionally caused trouble and made Entei angry before.

But today…

This was genuine rage.

Most Fire-type Pokémon possessed personalities much like fire itself.

Passionate.

Explosive.

And terrifying once provoked.

After calming himself slightly, Entei began carefully considering what should be done.

The simplest solution would be to wipe out every last hunter.

However, that might attract humanity’s suspicion and attention.

Furthermore, once the captured Pokémon were rescued…

How would they return to their respective homes?

That problem inevitably required human involvement.

After thinking for a while, Entei decided to trouble Yuto once more.

The man seemed to have a decent network of connections.

He could probably arrange proper care for the rescued Pokémon afterward.

As for the hunters themselves…

Entei decided they should first receive a thorough beating.

Afterward, they could be handed over to the human authorities.

Surely humans themselves prohibited illegal Pokémon poaching.

Those criminals deserved to experience imprisonment for themselves.

Having reached a decision, Entei prepared to leave once again.

After hearing the entire plan, Sunny immediately expressed his desire to participate.

Entei agreed.

The current Sunny was no longer the helpless child he had once been.

He now had his own thoughts and opinions.

That was something Entei was happy to support.

However…

There was one condition.

Sunny absolutely could not reveal himself before other humans.

Among the supplies Entei had brought back were several masks.

As long as Sunny wore one, people would not recognize him.

Although…

The ideal situation would be for no one to see even the mask.

“Dad…”

Sunny hesitated before asking.

“What about Yuto?”

“Shouldn’t he see me either?”

Entei fell silent.

Anything involving Sunny required the utmost caution.

One careless mistake…

And he would regret it forever.

Yuto had once been a candidate for the Rainbow Hero.

However, Entei had no way of knowing whether the man still possessed the same sincere and passionate heart he once had.

Human hearts changed.

Someone kind today…

Could become utterly evil tomorrow.

Fortunately, during their recent meeting, Entei had not detected any such changes.

In the end…

He decided to trust him.

Partly because Yuto had just helped purchase so many supplies.

But more importantly…

Because of Charizard.

Entei had clearly sensed Charizard’s condition.

The deep love and unwavering trust the Pokémon held toward his trainer could not be faked.

A trainer capable of treating his own Pokémon with such care…

Could hardly be a bad person.

Besides…

Sunny would eventually have to return to human society.

When that time came, Yuto could perhaps help him obtain a legitimate identity.

As for how to repay him…

Entei had already decided.

He would use Sacred Fire to temper Yuto’s ace Charizard’s body.

Afterward, he would personally train Charizard for a while.

This was merely a small favor.

Nothing particularly special.

Yet if other trainers learned of it…

They would likely go mad with envy.

The resources and guidance provided by a Legendary Pokémon…

Those were opportunities countless trainers dreamed about.

It was said that Pokémon blessed by Legendary Pokémon often underwent complete transformations.

They became extraordinarily powerful and famous across entire regions.

Some even inherited part of a Legendary Pokémon’s power, allowing them to surpass the natural limits of their species.

Even certain humans who received blessings from Legendary Pokémon could awaken miraculous abilities.

Unfortunately…

Sunny possessed absolutely no concept of just how precious these blessings truly were.

After all, Entei had taken care of him every single day.

Whenever he became sick, Entei would casually heal him with Sacred Fire.

To Entei…

Casting Sacred Fire several times felt as ordinary as eating a meal.

It was something he never hesitated to do.

If other people ever found out…

They would probably die from jealousy.

The reason many trainers who had partnered with Legendary Pokémon eventually became vastly stronger was largely because of benefits like these.

It truly was something others could only envy.

Of course…

They had earned it.

If a Legendary Pokémon had willingly acknowledged someone and agreed to become that person’s partner…

Then surely it was only natural for it to give its trainer a few special advantages.

After all…

A small cheat was hardly worth calling a cheat.

With everything settled, Entei set off together with Sunny and Hawlucha.

Normally, Entei disliked having other Pokémon ride on his back.

But if Hawlucha was being held in Sunny’s arms…

Then he did not mind.

Nestled safely in Sunny’s embrace while riding atop the back of a Legendary Pokémon, Hawlucha felt as though he were dreaming.

I’m actually riding on a Legendary Pokémon…

He could already imagine proudly telling this story for the rest of his life.

“I once rode on a Legendary Beast.”

Just thinking about the admiring looks his fellow Pokémon would give him filled him with excitement.

Sunny had no idea what Hawlucha was fantasizing about.

His own emotions were far more complicated.

Am I…

finally going to meet another human?

The first human he would meet since arriving in this world.

He wondered what this man, Yuto, would think.

Would he stare at him strangely?

Would he ask countless questions?

Would he judge him?

It had been far too long since he had seen another member of humanity.

Because of that, he found himself instinctively resisting the idea.

He had always been somewhat shy.

Only when surrounded by Pokémon did he truly feel comfortable.

In his eyes…

Pokémon felt far more approachable than people.

Still…

He knew he had to take this step eventually.

He could not remain living in the wilderness with Entei forever.

One day…

He would have to return to human society.

And when that day came, he needed to learn how to interact with other people again.

Thinking of this…

His eyes gradually became resolute.

Meanwhile, Entei’s powerful body raced steadily through the forest.

Each stride was as unwavering and determined as the conviction now shining within Sunny’s heart.
