The renovation of the Breeding House was nearing its end, and Levi’s Breeder assessment was also set to take place in Jubilife City.
Levi’s month-long study period was coming to an end, and the old man gave him a day off.
The day before leaving Celestic Town, Levi had originally planned to visit the Celestic Town Historical Research Institute.
He wanted to ask Professor Carolina about Dialga and Palkia and the Lake guardians.
“Professor Carolina has gone to Eterna City and might not be back for some time.”
The security guard explained the reason to Levi.
Having grown up in Celestic Town and knowing Professor Carolina’s granddaughter, Levi was a familiar face in town.
“Alright, thank you.”
Because of the scientific research conference in Eterna City, Levi wouldn’t be able to meet her for the time being.
Levi turned around to go see Makino-nee, with Teddiursa and Farfetch’d acting as her loyal bodyguards.
Having eaten plenty of the Pokémon food Levi made recently, Teddiursa and Farfetch’d were very welcoming to him.
Teddiursa even jumped down from its chair, tugging at Levi’s pant leg for food.
“Teddiursa, you can’t do that!”
“It’s fine, here.”
Levi had been prepared for this and took out a handful of Pokéblocks, taking the opportunity to ruffle Teddiursa’s head.
“Farfetch’d, you have some too.”
[Ding, gained 31 points of Pokéblock proficiency]
What Levi feared most was them not eating; the more they could eat, the more he welcomed them.
“Makino-nee, if anything comes up, contact me on my phone.
If you have time, come visit Jubilife City.
I’ll send you the address.”
Makino-nee smiled, showing him the chat history with Levi’s mother.
“No need, Aunt Wen Hui has already sent it to me.
I’ll go when I have time.”
“Alright, goodbye then.”
Makino-nee waved her fist in encouragement, “Good luck with your Breeder assessment!
I believe in you!”
“Don’t worry.”
Levi had signed up for the Intermediate Breeder assessment, and he was full of confidence.
After bidding farewell to the old man, Levi and his parents boarded the train to Jubilife City.
The old man didn’t intend to go to Jubilife City with them; he preferred to stay in Celestic Town.
Before parting, the old man said seriously, “Don’t let your training fall behind.
I’ve found you a teacher who will give you a few lessons.
Don’t embarrass me.”
Who?”
If it were a famous Breeder…
Levi’s first thought was Blue, known as a master of breeding, as well as Professor Oak, and maybe Brock.
Levi had heard of Blue and the others long ago; Blue had long since served as the Viridian Gym Gym Leader.
Times have changed, sir.
It’s the information age now, with the legend of Blue’s five-minute fastest Champion run, and the Battle Legend of Mt.
Silver, Red.
The names and deeds of these people were always talked about with relish by Trainers.
What Levi wasn’t sure about was whether Pallet Town had that ten-year-old Trainer Ash with twenty-five years of experience.
He felt it should exist, after all, Sinnoh already had a chain of “Jessie and James Ramen” shops.
But wouldn’t Blue and Professor Oak be too big of a deal to ask them to teach him?
Impossible, absolutely impossible!
Levi immediately ruled them out.
The old man smiled like a hidden master, “You’ll know when you see him.
He’ll only go once you pass the assessment.”
Levi nodded helplessly, “Alright.”
“Gengar~” Gengar waved goodbye while holding a handkerchief in its mouth.
“Farfetch’d!” (Do your best!)
The old man stood with his hands behind his back, watching them drive away before returning to his small courtyard.
Sitting in the back seat, Levi saw this scene.
“Dad, if there’s a chance, let’s take Grandpa to Jubilife City.”
“Your uncle and I want to, but your grandpa doesn’t want to go; he just likes living in Celestic Town.”
“If there are no conditions, then we shall create them!”
As he said this, a brilliant light seemed to rise behind Levi!
Levi looked full of momentum, but in reality, he had no idea what to do…
“Son, I believe in you!”
His dad was a master of pure chicken soup for the soul, providing plenty of emotional support.
But that was all he provided…
You might as well have given me some food delivery coupons!
Wen Hui knew what the father and son were worried about, “Don’t worry too much, your grandpa is in good health.”
Levi acknowledged this point.
The old man could chase him for ten blocks with just a stick right now…
…
Jubilife City was quite far from Celestic Town; even taking the fastest maglev train, it still required an eight-hour journey.
Leaning back on the sleeper berth, Levi looked at his personal panel.

The month-long study life was boring but full of rewards.
It was no longer Schrödinger’s poffin; Levi felt he was terrifyingly strong now.
The rapid rise in Breeder experience was due to the old man’s unreserved teaching over the past month.
The old man discovered that Levi’s learning speed was incredibly fast, which is why he thought about finding a good teacher for him.
The old man’s idea was to teach him more while his grandson still loved learning, in case he lost interest one day.
The significant increase in Pokéblock proficiency was mainly attributed to Grandpa’s Gengar.
Gengar’s four-dimensional stomach was simply a bottomless pit.
Although the Pokéblocks Levi made were far inferior to the old man’s, the old man wouldn’t make them!
Gengar had no choice but to eat them reluctantly.
With the support of multiple Pokémon and carrying poffins to distribute on the spot…
Cooking and poffins were what he managed to grind to Intermediate.
The improvement in Breeder ability, combined with the large supply of Pokéblocks, allowed Lucario to learn Extreme Speed.
The super-heavy Arcanine learned Body Slam, and its strength stepped into the Gym (Beginner) level.
The silver Metang went from being a promising Superior monster to reaching Veteran (Beginner) level.
It successfully mastered Ice Punch, Protect, and Psychic.
Levi expected Metang to evolve in a month or two; if he could use Steel Gems and metal coat to assist in training, it would be faster.
While Levi was practicing, the old man would occasionally give Lucario and the others extra lessons.
The main and side quest statuses were both in progress; Levi just glanced at them and didn’t look again.
He opened his phone and noticed a long string of messages from a friend.
[Gold: Get online and play games, hey!]
[Gold: Waiting online, it’s urgent!]
[Gold: Master, save this child!]
[Levi:…]
[Gold: Replying only now?
I thought you were dead!
No, wait, this ellipsis of yours makes me think of Senior Red!]
