“Roar ~”

Gyarados returned to the lake and waited for Kain to feed it.

Upon smelling the fragrance of the white soup boiled from the fish heads, Gyarados’s eyes went wide, and it could barely hold back anymore.Full novel: Pokémon: I Thought This Was A Beast-Taming World! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“Don’t be anxious, it’s all for you. Today we have the fish you caught, as well as your favorite Berry.”

Looking at the cheerful Gyarados, Kain was also in a very happy mood; there was nothing more delightful than someone approving of one’s culinary skills.

Just a single noon had passed, and Kain had already undergone a shift in mindset.

He added the identity of a chef to himself.

“Roar ~”

Gyarados let out a soft roar and then devoured its food like a starving tiger.

As soon as the fish head soup entered its stomach, Gyarados felt as if its tongue was about to fall off; it was simply too delicious.

It never expected this kind of fish to be so delicious.

Should it go catch more fish from the ocean in the future?

Mhm, in the future it should catch more of these fish and let the Trainer cook these delicious dishes.

Eating them every day, it would never get tired of them.

Looking at Gyarados’s appearance, Dratini was practically dying of envy.

How could this big guy eat so slowly?

It didn’t even know how to look after a child like her!

She had only been born a few months ago, exactly at the age when she needed to eat.

“The fish head soup is finished. This is sashimi; you shouldn’t get diarrhea after eating this, right?”

Kain took large chunks of meat and fed them to Gyarados.

Naturally, Gyarados accepted all comers.

What diarrhea?

Eating ordinary creatures, how could it possibly have such a reaction?

After finally feeding Gyarados a cup of juice the same as before, it was time for Kain and Dratini to eat.

Dratini had been impatient for a long time.

As soon as she got to the table, she chugged down all of the fish head soup in big gulps.

At that speed, Kain had only taken a few sips when Dratini had already finished drinking the fish head soup, and even swallowed the fish head whole.

Kain had no idea how Dratini managed to swallow it without her body showing any deformation.

“Dratini ~ Dratini ~”

Dratini looked at Kain in confusion.

Why was he staring at her the whole time?

Could it be that he didn’t like drinking fish soup?

If the Trainer didn’t like it, she could take care of it for him.

“What’s wrong? Little One, do you still want some?”

Kain understood the look in Dratini’s eyes, and then smiled as he pushed his own fish soup right in front of Dratini’s mouth.

“Dratini ~”

Dratini momentarily wore an expression of temptation, but then shook her head fiercely.

“You don’t want it? Then try this. This is sashimi; some people really like eating this kind of sashimi.”

Kain pushed a plate of sashimi in front of Dratini.

Although with his culinary skills, it turned out very delicious—he had also tasted a few slices and it was indeed very delicious.

There wasn’t a single trace of fishy odor.

Unfortunately, after eating a few slices, he stopped eating.

He planned to give it all to the Little One he raised.

He would just drink fish soup, juice, Berries, and things like that.

Furthermore, on his dining table today, there were a few more pink Berries.

He planned to try them fresh to see what these Berries tasted like.

Crunch ~

Taking a bite, it was tender and juicy, and the sweetness rushed straight to his brain.

“Delicious, it’s simply too delicious.”

Kain said with glowing eyes.

“Dratini ~”

“What is it? Little One, do you want to eat this too?”

Kain casually handed Dratini a pink Berry.

Dratini looked at it, and under the temptation of her gluttony, quickly took a bite.

Instantly, her eyes lit up.

Such a sweet food, it was too delicious!

The next two bites finished off the remaining fruit flesh.

The Berry pit was spat onto the plate.

Dratini had heard that if you plant a Berry pit in the ground, it could turn into a large tree growing Berries.

She didn’t want a future where all the Berries were eaten and there were no more of these Berries to eat.

“A Berry pit? You don’t want me to plant this Berry pit, right? And then just wait for it to grow up.”

Kain looked at Dratini and asked.

“Dratini ~ Dratini ~”

Dratini nodded excitedly; that was precisely what she meant.

“It seems that they can actually eat any Berry, it just depends on their preferences.”

Kain already had guesses and thoughts in his heart.

However, could this Berry pit really be planted and grow a new one?

Regarding this, Kain remained skeptical.

After all, this was a gift from the system; would He be that kind-hearted?

For a Berry pit to grow into a tree again.

But since the Little One wanted him to keep it, then he would keep it.

He would plant it, and whether it succeeded would depend on heaven’s will.

“Alright, tonight we’ll plant the Berry pit, how about that?”

Kain looked at Dratini and said.

Anyway, inside the manor, there was still plenty of open space available for planting.

Dratini nodded happily, and the speed at which she ate even increased.

Then she noticed that Kain didn’t seem to be picking up much sashimi to eat.

Could it be that he didn’t like eating it?

Impossible.

The food made by the Trainer was so delicious; it was impossible that he didn’t like it.

He must have seen that she liked eating it, so he intended to keep letting her have it all.

Dratini thought about it in her head and confirmed that this must be the reason.

For a moment, she looked at Kain with tears welling up in her eyes, “Dratini ~ Dratini ~”

With a flick of her tail, she pushed the plate in front of Kain.

“What’s wrong? Little One, do you not like eating it? Just a moment ago you looked like you were eating quite enthusiastically.”

Kain looked at Dratini and said.

“Dratini ~”

Dratini pointed her tail at the plate—to be precise, the sashimi inside the plate.

“You want me to eat it too?”

Kain looked at her and guessed in a low voice.

“Dratini ~ Dratini ~”

Dratini nodded rapidly; that was exactly how it was.

“Little One, you eat too.”

“Dratini ~”

Dratini turned her body around to face away from Kain, meaning that if Kain didn’t eat, she wouldn’t eat either.

“Alright, alright, I’ll eat too. Little One, come and eat quickly as well.”

Kain replied with a smile.

He hadn’t expected this Little One to still be caring about him.

“Dratini ~”

I want to see you eat it before I eat.

“I’ll eat, I’ll eat.”

This time, against all odds, Kain understood Dratini’s meaning.

Kain smiled, picked up a piece of sashimi, and ate it into his mouth.

In an instant, his eyes lit up; it was truly too delicious.

“I’ve already eaten, Little One, you come too.”

Kain picked up sashimi with his other hand and fed it to Dratini.

She was also very obedient and opened her mouth to eat it.

Gyarados, watching from outside the glass, felt as though its status as the Trainer’s number one Pokémon had shaken a little bit.

“Roar ~”

Learned it, learned it.

In the future, I should treat the Trainer like this too.

…

After lunch, Kain, Dratini, and Gyarados sunbathed to digest their food.

One hour later, Kain started practicing together with Gyarados.
