“The underground evil forces…

assassin organizations.”

“Taking a part-time job with them is very simple, but to officially join, one must complete at least five A-Rank assassination missions.”Full novel: Pokémon: Just Completed the Pokédex, Transmigrated to the Beast Taming — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“A-Rank also implies that the person to be assassinated possesses A-Rank strength.”

“Jinling City’s assassin organization…

I don’t know where it is, but I can find their people.”

Chi Hong pulled out a cell phone.

It belonged to that guy named Old Li who had come to assassinate him the other day.

Right before he died, he seemed to have wanted to contact someone.

The phone was still unlocked, and Chi Hong discovered a certain matter from it.

This Old Li was also doing a part-time job as an assassin himself, and the contact information for relevant personnel was in the phone.

Thus, he contacted this handler.

In a pitch-black park, a woman with a head of red hair sat on a bench with her legs crossed.

She was wearing fishnets and long boots, and was reading a book by the light of the streetlamp next to the bench.

Only when Chi Hong got closer did he realize that the words ‘Postpartum Care for Pet Beasts’ were written on the cover of that book.

The woman raised her head and glanced at Chi Hong with her large eyes.

She spoke, “Although you’re covering yourself well, I can still tell that you’re too young.

Are you even of age?

I have no interest in little boys like you.”

Chi Hong’s face darkened.

This woman thought he was here to hit on her, though she indeed possessed the capital for it.

He took out the phone and held it out in front of the woman.

“Thanks, I don’t give out my…”

“Where is Mr.

Li?”

The woman cast a glance at the phone and immediately asked.

It was common for part-timers to have someone else handle their interactions, but this Mr.

Li didn’t seem to have ever done this before.

“He’s dead.”

Chi Hong withdrew the phone, his face completely composed.

“That’s truly a pity.

Although his strength was average, he indeed completed quite a few C-Rank missions.

He was a guy who could steadily earn me a tiny bit of commission, and he had never failed before.”

“But I don’t remember him taking a mission to assassinate you.”

The woman closed the book and looked at Chi Hong with a beaming smile, exuding the aura of a mature older sister.

However, Chi Hong felt nothing; shyness was an emotion reserved for pure, innocent virgins.

He, Chi Hong, was not one.

“I’ll be frank.

I need to hire an assassin.

You should be able to arrange that for me, right?” Chi Hong stuffed his hands into his pockets and leaned against the streetlamp pole.

“Of course I can, but how much are you offering?

Who is the target?”

“I’ll provide a two million down payment.

Find me an A-Rank assassin, but I need to meet that assassin first to confirm their strength before I pay the down payment.”

“Little brother, you’re too naive.

The down payment for an A-Rank is at least eight million.”

The woman said with a smile.

She didn’t ask Chi Hong if he really had that much.

Daring to mess around with an assassin organization would quickly make him regret it!

“I thought it would cost hundreds of millions.” Chi Hong was taken aback.

He hadn’t expected it to be so cheap.

Were assassin organizations that poor?

He began to suspect that A-Rank assassins were perhaps not as formidable as he had imagined.

“Hahahaha, you’re really interesting, but my performance hasn’t been ideal lately.

As long as you’re willing to put down a four million down payment first, I’ll introduce my friend to take this mission for you.”

The woman covered her mouth and chuckled.

Indeed, both she and that friend had been performing very poorly as of late.

“Three million.”

“If that’s acceptable, I’ll pay you immediately after meeting your friend.”

Chi Hong said without hesitation.

Whether he met the friend or not didn’t matter; what he wanted to see was the A-Rank pet beast!

The reason he chose to come out at midnight was precisely because he was worried that stepping out the door first thing in the morning would result in seeing some early-route tier pet beast by the roadside.

If that happened and unlocked a Caterpie for him, it would be a real joke.

“I’ll contact him, but let’s be clear first: the final payment is six and a half million.”

The woman pulled out her phone and reminded Chi Hong while looking at him.

“No problem.”

Chi Hong nodded.

He had already sensed that the price this woman offered was heavily discounted.

After making the call, the woman stated they had to wait half an hour, and she offered her name: ‘Number 73’.

She was Handler Number 73 of the assassin organization, and she emphasized that Number 73 was merely a codename and had absolutely nothing to do with her performance ranking within the organization.

“Alright, I didn’t ask anyway.”

Chi Hong responded, inwardly certain that this Number 73’s performance in the assassin organization was probably right at the bottom of the barrel…

Half an hour passed quickly.

A young man with a sinister face walked over with his neck shrunk back.

He looked very cautious, constantly looking left and right.

Upon reaching Number 73’s side, he nodded at her.

It seemed they had already communicated over the phone.

The sinister-faced man raised his hand and summoned his pet beast.

A pet beast as tall as a person emerged from the ground.

This was a pet beast with an expression even more gloomy than its master’s.

It had no fur, wrinkled skin, and two fangs protruding outward.

Overall, it could be described with a single word: ugly.

“A pure Dark-attribute A-Rank pet beast, the Cruel Beast.

I believe you should also be clear that Cruel Beasts are considered extremely difficult to tame even among A-Rank pet beasts.”

“How about it?

Are you satisfied, little boss?”

Number 73 said with a smile.

“Hurry up and make him pay, stop spouting so much nonsense.

The sinister-faced man urged.

Throughout it all, his action of looking around had never stopped.

Chi Hong cast a glance at this Cruel Beast.

It was Level 68, Dark-attribute.

Its base stats were quite good, significantly higher than his Mightyena’s.

The main issue was that it was simply too ugly!

The Dark attribute in this world corresponded to the Dark type in the Pokémon worldview.

Chi Hong drew this deduction.

Soon, one of his Pokémon was unlocked.

A pitch-black Poké Ball immediately appeared and was about to fly out of his hand in the next second.

Chi Hong firmly pressed his hand down on the Poké Ball, not letting this Pokémon out.

He took one look at it, and the corners of his mouth immediately curled up.

[Zoroark: Level 50]

[Ability: Illusion]

[Item: Choice Specs]

[Moves: Night Daze, Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Psychic]

A purely offensive Pokémon, and it even held an item.

Choice Specs boosted the holder’s Special Attack power.

He remembered perfectly well that the Pokémon he had equipped with items all had perfect Individual Values and fully maxed corresponding core Effort Values!

“So this Zoroark, wait…

it’s actually Level 50?”

Chi Hong was momentarily stunned.

Meowth was only Level 40, so he was a bit unable to comprehend the criteria determining the level of the unlocked Pokémon.

“Alright, give us the down payment, then tell me the target you want taken out.

I’ll give you results in three days.”

The sinister man urged, before raising a hand to recall his pet beast.

“The one I want taken out is the CEO of the Lin Group, Lin Xia.” Chi Hong glanced at him.

The name he spoke caused the man’s expression to instantly turn ugly.

“This bastard is playing us…” He took a step forward, looked at the red-haired woman, and said in a deep voice, “How could you trust a kid like this?”

“Little brother…

you’re joking, right?”

“There are no less than ten assassins for Lin Xia’s mission at the headquarters, and the price for every single one of them is no lower than ten billion.

You want us to take him out for ten million?”

The red-haired woman’s expression also darkened, feeling as if she had been played.

“So there’s no room for negotiation then?

I’m sorry, I thought it wouldn’t be that expensive.” Chi Hong spread his hands, looking very apologetic.

“If I don’t teach you a lesson…” The man’s face instantly turned black.

“I’ll give you a million, just treat it as my apology.”

The sinister-faced man was halfway through speaking when his expression instantly changed.

“That…

that’s so embarrassing!”

Rubbing his hands together, he said with a face full of embarrassment.
