Rai prepared the bath as usual, and Karl had a long bath.
He stared at his body inside the warm water, and astonishment flashed through his silver eyes.
His limbs seemed taller than before, and his skin was even more beautiful.
Karl raised his fingers in the air.
His brows widened at how smooth and slender they were.
“My fingers are almost as beautiful as Varek’s.”
When he opened his eyes a few days ago, though Karl Dawnspire hadn’t been fat, his body had still retained a bit of fat.
The fingers were a little chubby and short.
However, after two days of cleansing, the fingers had grown leaner and a little taller.
Karl’s eyes sparkled.
He loved Varek’s fingers so much and wanted them for himself, too…
“I should check myself out in the mirror.” He decided.
With the change in his limbs, he reckoned his height should have increased a bit.
He had been too short before…
he didn’t even reach Varek’s chest!
Though he felt like this was because Varek himself was too tall, he still didn’t feel alright being so short before the man.
Karl stepped out of the water and walked toward the silver mirror inside the washroom.
The mirror was tall and large.
It was really nothing like the broken mirror shared by numerous adults in the charity base.
When Karl stood before it, his reflection wasn’t broken either.
He could see himself clearly.
His silver eyes seemed a bit deeper than before.
His long black hair looked softer.
Karl stared at his body, which had grown firmer and taller, and his happiness bloomed madly in his chest.
He reached out to touch his face.
“It seems I have the capacity to become more good-looking.” His lips curled, revealing a dazzling smile.
His eyes remained fixed on his reflection.
He really couldn’t look away.
This was the kind of body and skin he wouldn’t have dared dream about in the past.
Well, even if he did, he would have laughed it off, thinking it was too ridiculous.
Having grown up tiny and scrawny, everyone believed he would always look that small for the rest of his life, and honestly, Karl believed that, too.
He didn’t care, though.
Even if he was small, no one could bully him without his consent.
He would always look for ways to return the bullying…
However, it was sometimes uncomfortable.
“Young Master.”
Rai’s voice snapped through Karl’s thoughts.
He blinked rapidly.
“What’s it?”
“Lunch is ready.
Are you done?”
Of course, he was done!
He rushed away from the mirror and pulled a blue robe from the stand in the washroom.
He put it on and rushed out of the room.
Rai stood at the door.
He breathed in relief when he saw Karl stepping out.
“It’s been served.” He gestured to the table.
Karl flashed him a bewitching smile.
“Thanks.” He hurried toward the table, sat down, and got down to business.
“Is there anything else that I have to prepare before starting the cultivation?”
Varek had taken his time explaining things to him.
He had even given him a handwritten cultivation skill that he could learn after he had reached the fourth rank of the Foundation Level.
However, Karl believed there was no crime in asking more questions.
His cultivation wouldn’t only risk his life but also that of the baby in his belly.
The thought scared him.
Rai shook his head.
“Young Master can slowly feel the spiritual energy in the air and try to move it into the open channels around your body.”
Karl closed his eyes gently.
Indeed, he could feel something in the air.
Though he had never felt it before, he immediately knew it was the spiritual energy Varek had told him about.
He opened his eyes again and returned his attention to Rai, who continued explaining.
“After cleansing, the body organs become open to reconstruction and strengthening.
You can slowly move the spiritual energy through these openings to strengthen every part of your body system.”
“By the time you are fully strengthened and your body is reconstructed, you would have broken through to the Earth Level.”
Karl nodded.
It was the same thing Varek had said to him.
He chewed the last bit of food in his mouth, drank the cold water, and stood up.
It was time to start cultivating.
He walked toward his bed and sat down in a meditative pose.
He closed his eyes, ignoring the gazes of the servants and even Rai, who all looked really curious about him.
Karl wondered if they had never cultivated all their lives.
A few minutes after closing his eyes, Karl once again felt the rich energy in the air.
He breathed out and tried to attract it.
However, something strange happened.
The moment Karl tried to attract the energy in the air, it was as if the energy had suddenly gone mad.
It rushed toward Karl like crazy, flooding through his skin.
He trembled, desperately trying to control the energy, but nothing worked.
The spiritual energy bypassed his restrictions and entered his body forcefully.
He abruptly opened his eyes, cutting off his connection with the spiritual energy.
“Call Varek.” He shouted.
“Call him right now.” His heart was racing really fast.
Why was the spiritual energy attacking him?
Rai trembled.
He brought out a token and inserted his energy into it.
Karl waited.
He had no idea what Rai was doing, but it didn’t matter.
He only needed to see Varek…
“Sovereign, Young Master wants to talk to you.”
“Huh?” Karl raised a brow.
He was still panting hard.
However, his gaze fell on the white token in Rai’s hand, and confusion showed in his eyes.
Was that a phone?
The cultivation world’s phone?
“This, Young Master.” Rai handed over the token to him.
Karl took it cautiously.
The token vibrated in his hand.
He flinched, almost throwing it away, when a voice came from it.
“Karl, are you okay?”
Hearing the familiar voice, Karl’s breath finally got a release, and he relaxed slightly.
“Varek, something had gone wrong.”
“The spiritual energy was attacking me!”
“What?” Varek’s voice sounded confused.
“Attacking you?”
“Yes.
Yes.
It was attacking me.” Karl grew even more panicked.
“Calm down, Karl, and explain to me.
What happened?”
Karl tried to do as told.
He explained how the spiritual energy had suddenly flowed toward him and flooded into his body.
“It was really scary.”
Varek was silent for a while.
Karl’s heart began racing.
Could it be that he couldn’t cultivate?
Was the energy also rejecting him?
His eyes reddened.
What was he supposed to do then?
“Stay there.
I’ll come over right away.”
Varek’s voice came through.
