The scar-faced leader’s lackeys stood completely paralyzed.
Their smug grins remained plastered across their faces, looking utterly absurd.
Their second-in-command was just... dead?
Split cleanly down the middle by a single strike!
Even the rock armor they believed was totally unbreakable had parted like wet tissue paper?
At this moment, the hand Logan used to grip his Miao dao was still vibrating slightly.
That wasn’t from fear, but from an indescribable rush of excitement!
He looked down at the blade in his hand. The bizarre crimson glow had faded, and the steel returned to its original cold sheen.
Was this the power of [Blood Burst Slash]?
Was this the strength of a Tier 2 specialized class?
Too strong!
This single slash gave him a clear understanding of his current combat capacity.
Purely in terms of attack power, his class probably ranked at the very top among all specialized classes!
"S-Second bro!"
A shrill scream finally shattered the dead silence.
The scrawny man was the first to break. Watching the two twitching halves of the corpse on the ground, he pissed himself in terror and turned to bolt into the woods.
How could Logan possibly give him that chance!
The exact moment the crowd was still frozen in shock, he moved!
Strike while the iron is hot!
His figure blurred into an afterimage, instantly catching up to the scrawny man.
The Miao dao in his hand pierced straight through the back without a single second of hesitation!
"Splat!"
The scrawny man’s body stiffened. Before he could even let out a scream, he dropped limply to the ground.
Logan didn’t pause. He pulled the blade free, spun around, and delivered a horizontal sweep toward the nearest hunter-class enemy holding a machete.
The guy had just raised his blade to block, but Logan’s speed was too fast and his force too heavy!
"Crack!"
The enemy’s machete snapped in half, and Logan’s momentum carried right through, slicing off half his head!
Red and white matter splattered across the dirt.
In a flash of lightning, all three of the enemy’s combat-class fighters were dead.
"M-Murder!"
"A monster! He’s a monster!"
The remaining dozen club-wielding thugs finally had their courage broken completely. They shrieked and flailed their wooden clubs wildly.
"What are you standing around for? Move!" Logan shouted an order to the girls behind him.
Tang Yuqing, Yu Le, and the others were pale-faced from the bloody scene, but Logan’s command made them act instinctively.
"Ah! Let’s fight them to the death!"
"Kill these bastards!" Enjoying the story? Read on at novelping.com.
A few hunter girls shrieked, charging forward with their machetes.
Their movements were still raw, relying entirely on adrenaline and raw nerve without any form or technique.
Except for one person.
Wang Ke.
The quiet girl who usually didn’t talk much in the group displayed astonishing calmness right now.
Instead of screaming like the others, she kept her footing steady, her swings fast and accurate.
A heavy-set thug was currently struggling to keep up with Tang Yuqing’s uncoordinated wild hacking.
Spotting an opening just as the man raised his club to smash down on Tang Yuqing’s head, Wang Ke darted in from the side.
Her machete traced a tricky arc, bypassing the man’s upper body entirely to target right between his legs!
"Splat!"
"Agh—!"
The man let out an inhuman shriek, dropped his club, clamped both hands over his bleeding crotch, and curled into a tight ball on the ground, instantly losing all combat capability.
With her target neutralized, Wang Ke immediately backed off to look for the next one, her movements clean and crisp.
Nice!
Logan caught the action out of the corner of his eye and cheered inwardly.
Wang Ke adapted far too fast! She was a natural-born hunter!
He immediately shouted out:
"Copy Wang Ke! Don’t hack at non-lethal spots—go straight for their weak points!"
That single shout had an immediate effect.
Hearing that, the men who had been planning to rush them in a mob instinctively crossed their legs, and their entire offensive formation fell apart instantly.
Are you kidding me?!
Taking a hit there meant death was preferable!
"Logan, Wang Ke... watch out!"
At that exact moment, Gu Xinran’s warning rang out from behind.
Logan pressed his attack against two enemies with his Miao dao while twisting his head to look.
Gu Xinran was holding the massive, vibrant toxic mushroom in her arms, wrapped in tree leaves so it didn’t touch her skin directly.
Having thrown caution to the wind, she yelled a warning to Logan’s group and then used every ounce of strength she had to hurl the toxic mushroom right at an attacker!
"What is that?!"
The targeted man instinctively threw up a hand to block.
The giant toxic mushroom smashed apart against his arm, splashing red-and-white juices all over his face and body.
"Ugh! What the hell is this!" The man spat out a mouthful in disgust.
The next second, his expression warped.
"Ah! My face! My hands!"
He shrieked in absolute terror as the skin hit by the juice began smoking, producing a corrosive *hiss* sound.
A searing, burning agony hit him, sending him rolling wildly on the ground and wailing until he stopped moving entirely, his exposed skin melted into a bloody, mangled mess.
That sight became the straw that broke the camel’s back.
The remaining seven or eight men completely broke. Dropping their weapons, they wailed like babies as they sprinted for their lives into the surrounding jungle, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
Logan didn’t give chase.
He leaned heavily on his Miao dao, breathing in heavy gasps.
The power of [Blood Burst Slash] was massive, but the stamina drain was equally insane; a single strike had nearly emptied his tank.
Right now, he was completely tapped out. If he chased them and anyone turned around for a desperate counterattack, the consequences would be catastrophic.
The fight was over.
The riverbank was left littered with debris and a heavy copper smell of blood.
The girls dropped their machetes, some collapsing straight onto the ground while others leaned against tree trunks to dry-heave.
It was their first time killing a person.
Logan caught his breath, scanned the surroundings, and confirmed no enemies were hiding nearby.
"Everyone alright? Anyone hurt?"
"I... I’m fine..."
"Sob... that scared me to death..."
The girls’ voices all carried a crying lilt.
"I’m hurt..." A weak voice spoke up.
Logan traced the sound to find Wang Ke.
She was leaning against a tree trunk with a long cut slashed across her left arm, blood already soaking through her hide top.
Logan strode over quickly.
The cut was deep with the flesh split wide open, likely from a sharp wooden spike during the chaotic brawl.
Without a word, he pulled the hemostatic herb directly from his inventory pouch.
He plucked a few leaves and chewed them into a mash inside his mouth.
"Hold still for a second."
Logan said, carefully applying the dark green herbal paste straight onto Wang Ke’s wound.
A cool sensation washed over the area instantly, cutting the pain down sharply.
Wang Ke grunted softly, her body tightening, but she didn’t dodge away.
Logan grabbed a nearby leaf and some vines, carefully wrapping and securing the wound.
Once finished, he exhaled and looked up at Wang Ke.
"Good job today," he praised sincerely. "You were the calmest and most decisive one out of all of them."
Wang Ke stood a full five-foot-nine, making her the tallest among the girls.
Her grades back in school had been average, but word was she regularly practiced sports like boxing, which explained why she didn’t freeze up when real violence broke out.
Wang Ke raised her head, a rare tremor stirring across her usually stoic face.
Looking at Logan’s face right in front of hers and feeling the lingering warmth of his hands on her arm, the tips of her ears turned quietly red.
Logan didn’t notice her strange reaction; he gave her shoulder a light pat.
"Keep it up. From now on, you’re the combat squad leader. Once I finish my blade practice, you’ll shadow me first, and then train the rest of the group!"
