I had to keep my eyes peeled all night, and when I heard sounds, I kept quiet until it passed. It was clear that the guards were searching for us, but they were not smart enough to know that I would rather stay at a stream than keep running away.
Morning came soon. I found a way to dress up the tired lady and lean her against a rock. I got dressed myself and found a pretty good stick, which I sharpened on a rock and got to fishing. It took a while, but I finally caught one, and then another and a few more.
"Hell yeah, I guess I still have my skills," I spoke in excitement. Now I had to move on to the next issue, making a fire. Yesterday, I refused to make a fire simply because I did not want to be captured by the guards who would see the flame and smoke.
Now I could do it because I was sure they were gone, or at least far from here at the moment. I set out to find wood and some dry shreds of trees that could work for a flame, and not long after, I gathered enough and returned.
I got to work immediately, using a method I learned long ago. I ripped a long strand of my clothes and used it to wrap around the stick and stab it onto the larger piece of wood. I began spinning the stick into the wood back and forth. The aim was to get enough friction to start the flame.
I got lucky, and the flame kicked up in only a few minutes. I gathered the wood fast and got my fire going.
I started cooking the fish over the fire, and after a few minutes, I noticed that she was waking up. She rubbed her eyes slowly and then looked down, shocked that she was clothed.
"I took the liberty of clothing you this morning to be safe. Sorry about that," I said while still roasting the fish.
"Thank you," she replied. I looked up, and there was a smile on her face. It somehow made my world light up in an instant. I still wonder how she had such an effect on someone like me.
She got up and walked over, bending over the fire and warming her hands a bit.
"My name is Lia," she said suddenly. I heard her, looked up, and smiled. I knew this was game set.
"That’s a beautiful name, Lia. My name is Tez," I replied calmly.
She blinked a few times, her beautiful golden eyes captivated me. She looked down at the fish for a few seconds, obviously hungry, but patient enough to understand that it was not yet cooked.
"You said you liked me?" She asked, as if wanting to confirm what I had said already.
"Yeah, I do. Somehow, you captivate me," I replied calmly.
"Humans do not like demihumans," she replied. She looked at me with eyes filled with pain. "They only see us as tools and slaves," she expressed in pain.
"I’m not like other humans. I actually really like you, and that’s why I saved you."
She heard that, and a subtle blush formed on her face.
"Yesterday night, you..." Her eyes trailed down to between my legs, and immediately I caught on. She had seen it yesterday.
’Shit, I thought I hid it well enough.’
"I’m sorry, I jus..."
"Was it because of me?" She asked me, looking at me with expectant eyes.
"I saw it yesterday, but found it hard to believe that a human would be that way because of me."
’She is unsure of my feelings for her. If I want to have her, I have to ensure that I establish it mentally.’
I scratched the back of my head in a nervous way.
"Well yeah, it was because of you. You being close caused that. I am sorry if it made you uncomfortable."
She shook her head very quickly to refute that, her face turned a heavy red.
"You did not. I actually found it somewhat pleasing. Knowing that it’s because of me somehow makes it better. You really do like me."
She leaned in close, her face a few inches away from mine.
"I have accepted what you offered me last night. I want to go with you and rise to the top, take revenge. I’m willing to go along with you, only if you promise to not leave me behind.
Everyone has left me behind. I don’t want to be alone anymore. I don’t want the pain anymore."
She broke down in tears a few seconds later as she spoke. I could see the fear in her eyes. A good guy would comfort her in a good way and hug her through it. I am not a good guy, rather a master of reality.
I grabbed her by the side of her face and leaned in, my lips pressed hard against hers, her soft lips pushed against mine, her eyes widened as she looked at me with shock and confusion.
I pulled back for a moment and then looked at her.
"I told you I like you. Why would I ever leave you?" I said to serve as the final confirmation. I leaned in and kissed her again, and this time she loosened more. Her lips parted and our lips interlocked. She was a bit stiff, but I could feel her loosening up.
I placed my hand behind her head and pulled her in closer as a subtle moan escaped her lips. My tongue slipped in a few seconds later, and she tried to match, but it was clear that she was not used to this.
I kissed her harder for a few seconds and then parted. A string of saliva connected us before snapping. Her breath was heavy while I looked right into her eyes.
"Should I stop?" I asked.
She shook her head, and this time actually leaned in, locking her lips with mine.
