It was night.
Sadaharu Inui sat at home, entering all the data he had collected on Ye Changfeng into his computer and generating various charts and graphs.
“Ye Changfeng… Calculating all his stats… His probability of winning is… 1%!” Inui’s glasses flashed with an unsettling white light.
“Perfect.”
Seigaku Tennis Club
“Wow, Tezuka-buchou is playing today, and so is Fuji-senpai!
Let’s go watch!” A large group of unfamiliar girls arrived at the club.
“Tezuka’s match, huh?
I’d love to see that,” Ye Changfeng thought.
“But I have my own match against Inui, so I can’t go.
Oh well.
In a ranking tournament like this, Tezuka probably won’t show his real strength anyway.”
Ye Changfeng had already arrived at the court, but the data master Inui was nowhere to be seen.
‘Maybe he’s hiding somewhere collecting data on my warm-up.’
The Three Freshmen were watching from the sidelines.
They were very interested in both Ryoma and Ye Changfeng, as the two represented the entire first-year class this year.
“Has Changfeng’s match started yet?” Kachiro asked.
“It should be starting soon,” Horio replied.
“Echizen won his first two matches easily.
His third match is against Momoshiro-senpai, while Changfeng is facing Inui-senpai.
Whoever wins becomes a regular!” Katsuo said.
“Changfeng has been getting a lot of bad rumors lately,” Kachiro added.
“A few days ago he said he’d defeat all the regulars, and yesterday he sent Akimoto-senpai to the hospital!”
“Hmph, Changfeng is just a first-year like us.
Why is he so arrogant?
There’s no way he can beat Inui-senpai.
Inui is a third-year regular — he must be really strong!” Horio declared.
“I’m not so sure.
I watched both of Changfeng’s matches yesterday.
He’s really strong!
I think he can become a regular!” Katsuo argued.
“Yeah, Changfeng is strong, but I wonder how strong Inui-senpai actually is,” Katsuo added.
“Inui-senpai is very strong,” a voice came from behind them.
The three freshmen turned around.
“Ah!
Momoshiro-senpai!
Hello!” they said together.
“Just call me Momo-chan~” Momoshiro said cheerfully.
“Momo… chan?
That feels weird.
I’ll just call you Momoshiro-senpai,” Horio said awkwardly.
“Hahaha, don’t worry about the details!” Momoshiro laughed.
“Can you tell us about Inui-senpai?” Kachiro asked.
Momoshiro shrugged.
“Well, even among the upperclassmen, Inui is quite formidable.
He hasn’t lost a single regular selection match in over six months!”
“So strong!
What else?” Horio pressed.
Momoshiro’s expression turned serious.
“His strength is above mine.”
The three freshmen broke into a cold sweat after hearing that.
“Hey, Momoshiro!” Another regular approached.
Momoshiro turned.
“Yo, Kikumaru-senpai!”
“You here to watch that weird Chinese kid’s match too?”
“Yeah, it’s about to start!” Momoshiro pointed at the court.
“Even though it doesn’t involve me, your match against the other first-year is starting soon too!” Kikumaru reminded him.
Momoshiro panicked.
“Ah!
Is it that time already?
I almost forgot!
Gotta go!” He dashed off toward Court 5.
“Ah, Inui-senpai is here!” The data master had finally arrived!
On the court.
“Sorry to keep you waiting,” Inui said to Ye Changfeng.
“Let’s have a match we won’t regret.”
“Youth should leave no regrets!” Ye Changfeng struck a dramatic pose and spoke in Might Guy’s tone from Naruto, completely catching Inui off guard.
‘Hehe, a little trolling never hurts,’ Ye Changfeng thought.
What he didn’t know was that Inui had just added “possible multiple personality disorder” to his database entry for Ye Changfeng.
“The match will now begin.
Inui to serve!” the referee announced.
“System, give me his data!”
