Chapter 13: Origin Point

Prism Girls 3 – Tomorrow’s Destiny

“You doing okay? :x” read the text from Erika. “You’ve been tense all week.”

“I’m fine. Just” Vivi typed before accidentally tapping send, her wings flaring out in surprise. “Oh, never mind. I’m super panicky. I wish you were here with me.”

“I know. Just take deep breaths for me and pretend I’m there holding your hand.”

“I’ll try...”

“How about this? Imagine me petting you, and then slowly stroking your head wings. And then imagine my fingers gently tracing your lower wings, especially at that point right below the joint.” Vivi jolted, a small moan escaping her mouth as she tried to clasp her mouth shut. Her wings folding up and shivering with pleasure.

“Eri, stop! You’re making me get all succu-y!” Vivi protested.

“I love how that’s what you call getting horny.” Vivi could practically hear Erika giggling in her ear. That soft sweet laugh tickling the tip of her ear as her hands-. Vivi shook her head, attempting to focus. “Feeling better?”

“I don’t know if this is better...” Vivi texted, her face bright red.

“Aww, don’t want to flirt with your girlfriend?”

“Oh, you know I do," she replied, her eyes hazing over with a red tint as the temptation baited her. She sighed and shook her head. "I’m not sure it’s a great idea with these military guys staring at me though.”

“Oof. Yeah. Be sure to stay near Lilith. I don’t trust those guys. >:(“ Vivi giggled to herself as Erika clearly grumbled her paranoia.

“I think she might be a little preoccupied.”

“Huh? Why?” Vivi glanced over at Lilith, Tiamat resting on her shoulder, a gentle blush on her cheeks as the demoness gently played at her hair with her finger, twirling it about as her fingers glided along it.

“She’s too busy enjoying herself with her new girlfriend.”

“No way! We were right? They looked like they were spending time together, but I thought we were just being silly.”

“Apparently not :D” Vivi giggled to herself.

“Mrs. Tailor, are you here?” A voice asked. Vivi looked up, seeing her mom rise from the seat beside her and approach the officer in the center of the room. She grimaced as she looked at the man in the lab coat beside the officer.

“You look miserable, Daniel,” the man, Dr. Fetter, judging by his name tag, criticized Cheryl.

“It’s good to see you too, Arthur,” Cheryl responded with an exasperated sigh.

“Where’s your pride man? Just because the mist changed you doesn’t mean you need to start wearing dresses and pretending to be a woman.”

“B-but… like the research says...”

“That reminds me, why are we showing this drivel? It’s all baseless nonsense.”

“Dr. Fetter,” another voice interjected, a tall black man in a dark suit approached the scientist. “I told you not to come back here. You were only invited as an observer.”

“Agent Roth,” Dr. Fetter turned to the agent. “Surely you don’t intend to have this man-”

“I will not have you insulting our specialist like that.” Roth glared at him. “If you have an issue with the research you are more than free to contact our office about it. Otherwise, if you continue harassing Mrs. Tailor, I will have you escorted off the premises.”

The scientist went silent, his face opening and closing at random intervals, then scrunching up with anger and disgust before the man simply crossed his arms and left the room. Cheryl sighed.

“I apologize for his behavior, Mrs. Tailor.”

“It’s… fine… I’ve come to expect it at this point. People like Dr. Fetter are just… uninformed...” she tried to explain.

“Dear, you really need to stop accepting that as an excuse,” Lilith argued, prompting the sleepy dragoness on her shoulder to awaken. “They’re grown men. They are old and smart enough to understand that you’re a woman and should be respected as such.”

“You must be Lilith. Senator Thomas has said great things,” Roth greeted the succubus.

“And I’ve heard great things about you, too,” Lilith chuckled. “I really must thank you for helping my girlfriend and granddaughter.”

“Your...” He glanced at Tiamat who lazily waved as she rubbed her eyes, and then to the cheerful pink haired girl before him.

“It’s good to meet you again, Agent Roth,” Vivi greeted him. The agent looked at her with mild surprise and then looked around the room to see the other Prism Girls, all in their magical girl forms, Cleo, and Tiamat, as they started gathering around him. “Are Thena and Medi here?”

“I see. That explains your curiosity before,” Roth chuckled, passing a glance to Lilith then back to Vivi. “Yes, they’re both here. We weren’t sure if you were going to make it though. Our department tried pushing an invitation for all of you through, but admin said it was already being handled. I suppose that’s your doing, Lady Lilith?”

“Lilith is just fine, thank you.” Lilith grinned. “And yes, I had Gloria prepare their invitations a while ago. Unfortunately, we couldn’t secure enough spots for everyone. We only have enough for myself, Vivi, Annie, and Melody. And Tiamat was given separate seating earlier.” Tiamat fidgeted beside her.

“If only we messaged them sooner,” Tiamat grumbled.

“I know,” Lilith lamented. “You’ll be good on your own though, right?” Tiamat gave a slow nod.

“I see.” Roth frowned in disappointment, then brought his hand to his face and thought for a moment. “Well, if you don’t mind being split up, we have some spare seats in our area. There was some miscommunication, and some members who are handling equipment were given seats that they won’t be using.”

“Sweet!” Carmen grinned. “So we get to see this secret meeting after all.”

“Yay!” Wisp cheered.

“You two sure are excited, huh?” Ichika giggled.

“Just be on your best behavior you two. This isn’t a party,” Cleo noted.

“And what of Mary?” Roth asked.

“My wife is actually waiting back stage with Palu,” Cheryl explained. “I asked her to watch from back there.”

“I see, so that’s your relation,” Roth noted. He glanced at the clock. “Looks like we need to get going. Gary, see those four to their seats.” The officer gave a salute. “And I assume you know where you’re all going?”

“Yes,” Lilith answered. “Gloria’s been pestering me to make sure I know where to go. We were actually about to head over now. She wanted to chat before we get started.”

“Good. Then if you’ll excuse us,” he said, gesturing at Cheryl to follow him.

“I’ll see you soon, sweetie,” Cheryl said as she waved goodbye.

“Good luck, Mom!” Vivi waved.

“Then shall we?” Lilith asked, the others nodding and following her.

“I still can’t believe you got us invites too, Lilith,” Melody commented as Annie pushed her.

“Yeah, I appreciate getting answers, but this is a lot more than I expected,” Annie added.

“It’s the least I could do, thanks to all the hard work you girls have done,” Lilith explained. “Besides, what’s getting discussed is going to be important for what comes next. If we want to stop Zeus, there’s a lot more you all need to understand.” They came to a large set of open doors and entered, finding a sizable auditorium. Lilith directed them to one side where a woman with rose colored hair and small vines wrapping around her as well as another woman with dark hair sitting beside her. As they headed over, she waved Tiamat goodbye as she headed to an area labeled ‘DEITIES’ in big bold letters. “Gloria, there you are,” she called out as they approached the rose haired woman.

The rose haired woman turned to face Lilith and smiled. “You made it! Oh, and these must be the Prism Girls!” She smiled serenely. “It’s good to meet all of you. I’m sorry about the troubles with your other friends. Unfortunately, there were some last minute changes.”

“To be honest, I kind of expected as much given what we talked about last time,” Lilith commented. “That said, you seem more comfortable than back then.”

“I’m trying. Being a woman has been an adjustment, I’ll admit. A pleasant one, but… it’s been hard reconciling with all the toxic opinions I’ve been holding.”

“Like I said, just take it a step at a time, Mom,” said the woman beside Gloria.

“Thank you, Jane. I’d like to think I’m doing well enough.”

“Um, so you’re trans too, then, right?” Vivi asked. Gloria looked at her with some confusion.

“Oh, I… I hadn’t realized… Lilith, you didn’t tell me your daughter was...”

“Granddaughter,” Lilith chuckled.

“Oh, yes, I suppose that makes more sense, doesn’t it? Anyway, to answer your question, yes, I am. It’s a pleasure to meet you all.” She looked at Annie and Melody who both avoided her gaze. “Oh, did I say something wrong?” She started to frown.

Annie sighed. “Listen, Lilith already explained that you’re trying to change, and I don’t mean to be rude, but a lot of the stuff you’ve done in congress in the past has been rather disgusting.” Gloria clutched her hands on her chest as her frown got deeper. “Especially how it threatened what we want,” she explained, Melody reaching over and taking Annie’s hand.

“I have a lot to make up for. I know that. And if it means anything, I am genuinely sorry. I could make up excuses, but all I can try to do is be better. And I do appreciate the scrutiny. In fact, if you have any feedback, I’d be happy to hear it. I’ve… started to recognize a lot of the things I’ve done wrong, but it’s not enough yet. “

“I… I actually didn’t expect you to say that,” Annie admitted.

“Yes, but words are ultimately cheap,” Melody chided. “I expect you to do what you can from now on.”

“Of course. I understand.” Gloria nodded. “Oh.” She glanced at her watch. “I’d love to keep talking, but you all should probably sit down. The meeting is going to be starting shortly.”

The group nodded in agreement, Lilith taking the seat closest to Gloria, followed by Vivi and Annie, with Melody parking her wheelchair in the handicap space beside Annie. As they settled in, Vivi looked at the stage, watching agent Roth approaching the podium at the center, a smattering of chairs behind him, with various people still filtering into the room.

“Alright, is everyone here?” Roth asked as he looked at the wide variety of people in the room. As he surveyed it, Vivi matched his action by looking around the auditorium. It was a more diverse gathering than she had expected. The numerous deities that were all in attendance were both striking yet more mundane than she'd expected.

She spied a man with dark skin and long pointed ears who sat beside Hori and Isis, likely the god of judging the dead, Anubis. In another section sat a pair of people, a woman with pale blue skin and long dark purple hair and a youthful androgynous person sitting beside Riri, whom Lilith identified as Skadi and Loki. Vivi’s eye was caught by Sue and Ami, who chatted with their neighbors, a well-endowed athletic woman with wavy blue hair, and a voluptuous feminine person who shyly cuddling up to her, whom Gloria identified as Artemis and Hades respectively.

Beyond them was a collection of people in varying military uniforms, camouflage like gear for the army, blue suits for the marines and air force, and lighter blue for the Navy. Closer to the stage were a bunch of people with other professional outfits, giving off an elite feel yet not as elite as the politicians in her own section. Some were sitting immediately at the front with materials to aid in the presentation. Were they scientists? Whatever the case, it felt very unnerving. She felt entirely out of place here, her wings anxiously curling around her.

Vivi gave a slight jump as she felt a gentle grab at her hand. Lilith gave her a firm nod to calm her down, and an accompanying pet of her head wings easing her. Vivi took a deep breath as she resumed intently looking toward the stage. Her demeanor loosened as she noticed her mother at Agent Roth’s side, sitting beside Medi. She still didn’t understand what she was going to be doing, but seeing her reassured her nonetheless.

“Good, now let’s begin,” Roth announced. “My name is Anthony Roth. I am an operative of the Magical Investigation Bureau, and I come before you today to discuss our findings from the past few months, including the Magical Mist and its origins.” Vivi looked at the stage in shock. They knew its causes? When? How? And more importantly, what was it? “Starting with the basics. As you are all certainly aware, on March 23rd, a mysterious phenomenon, which has been dubbed the Magical Mist by the internet, overtook the planet. This event changed life forms of all sorts, humans, plants, and animals alike. For the past number of months, it has been reported that the cause was unknown and that there was no information on the topic. As many of you likely suspected, that was not the entire truth,” he said, clicking a button, the screen behind him flashing to a map.

“This is a map of the state of Colorado, specifically of the area between Colorado Springs and Denver,” he pulled out a laser pointer and pointed to the Northwest of the dot for Colorado Springs, around the edge of the darker part of the map indicating the Rocky Mountains. “In this area, near the base of the Rocky Mountains was a hidden military base used for Physics experiments. Approximately a day before the wall of the mist crossed the planet, contact with this base, Fort Newton, was lost. As you may be piecing together now, this location is also the epicenter of the Magical Mist.” Vivi’s eyes narrowed, her ears practically standing at full height from the surprise. “We are still uncertain as to what happened at the base when we lost contact, but…”

“Uncertain?” a tall elvish man complained loudly, the young woman beside him sighing. “You cannot expect us to…”

“Yes, uncertain, Freyr” Roth gave a confident glare, silencing the elven king, his sister quietly scolding him. “Due to the circumstances, organizing a search team was delayed, and upon the initial attempts to investigate, uncertain forces either severed contact with the investigation teams, or left them catatonic upon discovery. Consequently, none of our forces have managed to make it into the base,” Roth explained, Freyr giving a grunt to the explanation.

“Continuing on. What we do know is two fundamental things. The first, is that on the day we lost contact, among the list of experiments that were expected to take place was one regarding experimental teleportation equipment,” Roth clicked a button changing the visuals to a picture of a room with a strange device consisting of an octagon shaped platform with eight spokes raising into the air. “The scheduled time for the experiment matches up with the loss of communication.”

“Are you suggesting that this experiment is responsible for everything?” An elf woman among the scientists asked, her fellow colleagues looking at agent Roth with matched intrigue.

“We don’t have concrete proof, but we currently suspect it is likely at the center of these events. None of the other scheduled experiments seem capable of this kind of response.” He elaborated before clicking the button again, shifting the image to a bird’s eye view of the mountain, a strange sliver of light doting the middle. “However, that brings us to the second point of information. After piecing together this intel, we began taking satellite images of the area, each producing a similar effect to this one, with a strange light where the base should be. And upon zooming in...” He clicked it again.

Vivi’s mouth dropped as the image revealed a strange… tear? She wasn’t entirely sure how to describe it, but it was like a strange silvery hole poking through a collapsed building. “We are still uncertain of the status of the labs, but after some dedicated effort, we managed to acquire this photograph of a strange anomaly where the main research building should be. At current we suspect it may be a portal produced by the aforementioned experiment, but there is no conclusive proof of that at this stage,” the room began to rumble with murmurs and mumbles from the crowd, unsettled by the news.

“A portal?” Melody whispered. “What does that mean?”

“Not a clue,” Annie tilted her head. She glanced over at Vivi.

“Is something the matter dear?” Lilith looked over at Vivi.

“Mom’s getting up,” she said, pointing to the woman as she approached the podium.

“Now I would like to turn over the stage to our associate, an anthropologist who has been aiding us in our assembly of the deities that have awakened due to these events,” Roth said, as Vivi’s mother stepped forward. “Mrs. Cheryl Tailor.”

“Thank you, Agent Roth.” Cheryl nodded as she took the stage. “With the advent of the Magic Mist, those in Scientific communities have been asking a wide range of questions. Not just what this mist was or where it came from, but why it was affecting people the way it did. While the investigations are still ongoing, one of the things we have learned is that those who have transformed from humans have been shown to have additional chromosomes from other unchanged humans. We have also learned that there seems to be a separate genetic factor to these changes, implying that these chromosomes have been passed on from parent to child just like any other gene, and they were inherited prior to the Magical Mist.

“Additionally,” Mrs. Tailor continued, “certain transformations seem to be connected to different regions. For instance, those identified as angels have had a greater tendency to appear in western countries while those identified as tengu have mostly appeared in Japan,” she said looking around the room to the many confused faces. “Due to this and other similar information we suspect that there is a commonality between native culture and these transformations.” The mumbles increased.

“Are you proposing that people are transforming based on local faiths?” a scientist asked.

“That was a consideration, but there have been several discrepancies with that approach,” Cheryl confessed. “It is currently a commonality and not a hard rule. Using that tengu and angel example, some tengu and angels have appeared in wholly different places. We are clearly missing significant information here, but assuming they are passed on like any other genes, it may be a simple matter of ancestry,” she said, turning her attention towards the part of the crowd with a cluster of deities. “Which brings me to the bigger question at play,” the deities began looking to each other. Vivi looked at them, noticing their general confusion, save a specific pair. Amaterasu and Sue giving pointed looks.

“Ami?” Vivi could barely hear the blue haired goddess beside her who looked at the sun goddess with a perplexed look.

“Just listen, Artemis,” Amaterasu gently instructed the other goddess.

“With a specific few exceptions, such as Ladies Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, all of the other deities we’ve found have been from specific faiths. Specifically, faiths that stopped being practiced at one point or another, notably the Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and Babylonian pantheons, among others. Meanwhile, Lady Amaterasu has professed that she and her allies who visited us were neither resurrected, nor are they from Earth,” Cheryl explained, Amaterasu nodding in the audience, the room going silent at the revelation.

“As I said earlier, we are currently missing a significant amount of information, some of which Lady Amaterasu was able to fill in for us. Which returns us back to the portal and the Magic Mist. Provided ancient records and the mess of information we have been finding, we currently believe that these deities as well as these magical forces are part of a separate world that was cut off from Earth sometime in the past. With this recent event, which we have decided to call ‘The Collision’ as a result of the recent teleportation experiment, our two worlds seem to have been reconnected and consequently magic, as well as the deities who govern it, have been restored our world.”

“I’m so confused,” Vivi sighed as she pet and fidgeted with her lower wings.

“Cher,” Lilith interrupted. “To summarize, you’re saying that connecting to this other magical world is the cause of the Magical Mist and everything that happened after it, correct?”

“Grandma?”

“That is our current theory, yes,” Cheryl confirmed.

“We can put aside all of the implications and questions as to why this all happened for now,” Lilith continued. “But the point is that this facility is likely the cause for all that has happened, and that this silver slit was what was left behind, correct?”

“Also correct.” Cheryl nodded. “Going off of that, we currently suspect that this slit is a portal to the home of Lady Amaterasu and her fellows, which they call Gaia,” she explained, Amaterasu nodding again in answer.

“This is all fascinating,” a man in military attire interrupted. “But what is the point of all of this Agent Roth,” he glared at the sitting agent.

Roth sighed as he rose back to his feet. “The point that Mrs. Tailor is getting at is that if our current suspicions are true, this anomaly is responsible for everything that has happened the past several months. And not only that, but that another world, one parallel to this one, which has lived with the energies of magic for far longer than us, is on the other side of it. A world which may have other deities and magic users who may view us as enemies.” Small mutterings began to spread through the hall, the volume rising as the audience became gripped by the concept. A parallel world, one equal and adjacent to their own not only existed, but could be a potential enemy? The hushed voices swelled with panic, anxiety, and paranoia. “Which brings us to our next topic.” Roth nodded to Cheryl who took a step to the side, Roth taking the podium again.

“As has been reported to many of you already, we are currently tracking a group of deities led by the Greek god, Zeus. Zeus has proven to be extremely dangerous and has been rallying various authorities to his side, promising wealth and power to his followers. To make matters worse, Zeus appears to be heading towards this anomaly, for one reason or another.”

“Going by the information we obtained from Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi, there appears to be a powerful deity on Gaia that came to prominence around the time deities like Zeus disappeared" Cheryl continued. "We're not certain of the exact context but it's something we're extremely concerned about. If Zeus gets there before us, and he tries to ally himself with that god, or worse, provokes them into a war that could bleed into our own world, the chaos we’ve seen the last several months could be just the beginning. “

* * *

“This is all too much,” Annie complained as they sat outside. The group had left, the meeting having shifted to other technical topics.

“No kidding,” Tiamat grumbled, her tail swaying with agitation. “I hadn’t realized there was another world. I simply thought the world had changed a lot after we died.”

“I apologize for not saying anything,” Ami apologized, sadlylooking at the floor. “All of your governments have been really antsy about the idea of another world, much less spreading that information.”

“None of us are upset at you, Ami,” Lilith smiled. “It’s just all a lot to take in. Remember how we reacted?” Ami nodded a little and nodded.

“Lily, were you sworn to secrecy too?” Tiamat asked, a pained look in her eyes.

“Cheryl and I were, yeah. It was the big caveat for getting Cheryl home. We had to be quiet, help with this meeting, and I had to promise to help MID.”

“Still a stupid name by the way,” Carmen commented as she and the others approached, Athena now with them. “You think so too, right Athena?”

“It’s certainly not a flattering name, that’s for sure,” Athena answered. She looked at Lilith. “So, I hear you've been up to some troublemaking. Isn't that right Lily?”

“Oh, you know me,” Lilith said chipperly.

“So, is Palu around then?”

“She is.” Vivi nodded. “I bet she’ll be here soon.”

“I’m glad. I’m excited to see her. Carmen was telling me about her new form,” Athena chuckled. “I’ve missed traveling with her.”

“She misses you too. She’ll be happy to see you,” Lilith stated.

“So… about all of… this, what do we do?” Carmen asked.

“We’ll have to stop Zeus, but… it all seems so much bigger now,” said Ichika.

“Unfortunately, there’s not much we can do about that.” Lilith frowned. “Our plans are kind of dependent on MID at the moment, so we’re just going to need to idle for a bit.”

Cleo sighed. “In that case, I think I’m going to go for a walk. You wanna go outside for a bit, Wisp?”

“Yes please. This stuff has been a lot,” the young fairy lamented. “I’d like to go play for a bit.”

“Okay, we’ll be back in a bit.” Cleo waved goodbye as she and Wisp left.

“I think I’m gonna go take a breather too,” Carmen stated. “It’s so stuffy in here.”

“I’ll go with you,” Ichika remarked.

“Annie, do you mind if we actually go back inside? I heard someone mention there’s going to be a piece on genetics and magic, like Cheryl was talking about, and I want to see.”

“Sure. It sounds interesting,” Annie agreed. "Wouldn't be bad for me to learn either."

“Oh, that part’s not going to be for a bit longer,” another voice stated. The group looked over to see an elf woman with long lavender hair approach them. Vivi looked at her, realizing she was the same woman who commented during agent Roth’s presentation. “My name is Dr. Vera Grace. I’m actually the lead geneticist on the presentation. I'd be happy to answer any questions,” she said excitedly.

“Thanks, I’d appreciate that,” said Melody. The woman nodded and looked at the group. Her eyes widened with realization.

“Hold on, you’re the Prism Girls aren’t you?”

“Damn, are we really getting that famous?” Annie asked.

“I don’t really know, but my daughter talks about you all the time,” Vera giggled. “I know none of you know me, but it means a lot to me what all of you do.”

“Oh, uh, thanks.” Annie blushed. “We’re just doing our best to keep people safe.”

“Just?” she laughed. “Seriously though, our family’s been through a lot, especially my daughter, so you all giving her hope… It’s really important to me.”

“Did something happen?” Vivi asked.

Vera sighed. “My husband left us when the Magic Mist showed up, and things have been complicated because of that. My daughter blames herself for it.”

“I’m sorry to hear that. I’ve heard a number of people left their families out of shame. I can’t imagine that’s easy,” Melody said, trying to empathize.

“To be honest, as stressful as things are, it’s been more of a blessing.” The group looked at Vera in confusion. “Heh, sorry. It’s just… It was a bad relationship. He wasn’t the man I thought he was. I honestly should’ve kicked him out when he started abusing our daughter.”

“Abuse?” Annie asked.

Vera frowned. “My daughter is transgender, and he didn’t accept her. It put a huge strain on our relationship.” She grimaced. “I can’t believe I let him get away with hurting her for so long. I...” She stumbled as Vivi hugged her. “Huh?”

“I know it might be hard, but please, support her,” Vivi begged.

Vera smiled. “Always. My little Celeste deserves that much,” she giggled. “I’m thankful you care so much, but I’m a tad confused why.”

“I…” Vivi stepped back. “I’m a trans woman too.”

Vera’s eyes widened. “Really? Goodness, Celeste is going to be so excited to hear that. She always did say the pink one was her favorite.” Vivi blushed. “Oh, is it okay if I tell her? I don’t...”

“Please do!” Vivi smiled excitedly. “If I can help other girls like myself, then I want to do everything I can! Even though magic helps us be ourselves, so many people don’t understand us.” Vera sighed. “Did I say something weird?”

“No, no… I’m happy for you, but… it’s not that simple for a lot of trans people. Sure the mist and magic have helped a lot of people change into bodies that fit them better, but some, like my daughter, weren’t so lucky. She didn’t change at all. Maybe one day she will, but there’s no guarantee.”

“I… I didn’t even think about that.” Vivi frowned. “I thought… I mean, with your husband...”

“Oh, he left because I changed in the middle of an argument,” Vera stated. “It was about Celeste, but…” She shook her head. “It doesn’t matter. I appreciate your concerns though. Just rest assured, I’m going to make sure my daughter can live her life as best she can.” She gripped her hand. “I’m going to do whatever I can...” Suddenly a buzz came from her pocket. “Oh, shoot. I have to get going. Our presentation is about to start. I really appreciated talking to you.”

“Before you leave, if you ever want help, let me know,” Lilith spoke up. “You can ask Cheryl for our contact info later, right Vivi?”

“Oh? Yeah.”

“So, you’re...” Vera smiled. “I’ll do that. Thank you!” Vera ran off back to the auditorium.

“Vivi, are you okay?” Annie asked. “You look kinda upset.”

“I’m fine.” Vivi smiled. “You and Melody have fun.”

“O-okay...” Melody nodded, the two returning to the meeting.

“Vivi? What’s wrong?” Lilith asked.

“I just… I want to do more. There has to be something I… anybody can do to make things better, right?”

“Oh, sweetie.” Lilith rose up and embraced her in a hug.

“Vivi,” Tiamat spoke up. “Trust yourself, okay?”

“Huh?”

“You’ve done a lot to save people. You even touched her daughter’s heart without her knowing you two are so similar. If anyone can figure something out, I’m sure you can.”

“Thanks Tia.” The dragoness added to the hug, Even her own wings seemed to curl around the young succubus as if to hug her as well. “I’ll do my best.
