Prologue: Diary of a Flower Girl

Prism Girls 3 – Tomorrow’s Destiny

Date: 3/14/10

Dear Diary, today was weird. It was Pi Day, so of course Mom was planning something special for us. We drove all the way to New Mexico to a small place called Pie Town. The drive took a while, especially for a day trip to the middle of nowhere, but wow was the pie worth it. I had a delicious slice of their dutch apple pie, and it was to die for. We also got a cherry and banana cream pie to take home.

That’s where the weird comes into play. Dad was mostly cool the whole day. It was nice to see him relax and not get super tense about stuff. It got weird when it came to the banana cream pie though. I’d managed to convince Mom to get it after Dad went back to the car as a surprise. When Dad found out though, he got into a huff and started talking about how he can’t eat it. It was really awkward and kind of sad. I don’t really understand what happened.

Stupid Todd and Dr. Rosen. They’re so obnoxious! JVivie was so down. Carmen said she’d keep an eye out for me. I’m really worried about her .SHe always looks so sad, especially when those two gang up on her . I wish I could help her . I miss when we were younger, whenshe had her hair grown out and didn’t seem to be constantly so on edge.

Today… Where do I begin? I got home to find my… parents fighting. It was apparently related to when we went to Pie Town. I’m not really sure what happened. Apparently Mom pushed a little too hard and… my other parent got really defensive and started arguing some really awful things. My sisters and I got really concerned. And then it happened. Some weird wall of mist crashed through our home and… everyone changed. Mom and my older sis turned into really hot angel ladies, and my younger sis and I turned into some kind of adorable plant girls… and so did Dad? Mom 2? I don’t know, but Dad turned into a plant girl like me. He… she(?) got super freaked out and really emotional. But… it’s weird. She keeps insisting she’s still a man, but something in me won’t accept that. Mom and my sisters don’t buy it either. Maybe that’s the wrong way of putting it. Mom and my older sis both tried, but it’s like they can’t. They try to call her a man or something, and then nothing comes out of their mouth, or they call her a woman.

What is happening?

What a wild week.

A lot’s been happening. School closed down. My parents’ jobs were shut down. And Mama…

I guess to make a long story short. We tried to make due for a bit, but Mama was really unstable. That was when Mom pretty quickly decided for us to go on a road trip to my grandparents. Mama was pretty against it, and baby sis and I were pretty upset, but as we traveled further north, and we hit some of the forests near Flagstaff, something weird happened. The three of us just kinda start feeling good. I think it was something about being surrounded by trees. Baby sis and I suddenly just felt super comfy; to the point that we started happily dozing on each other in the car. Mama did too, she even started relaxing enough that she stopped getting all defensive about what we were calling her. In fact, the one time I tried correcting myself she looked really upset by it. None of us understood it, especially her, but it was like something just clicked. She still tried asserting that she was a man a few times, but each time got weaker and quieter, and she sounded more confused and like she was forcing herself each time.

Then, when we got to our grandparents’ place in Portland (Grandma turned into an angel and grandpa turned into some kind of lizard man), Mama was hooked up with some locals. We learned a lot of stuff. Stuff that really resonated with Mama. Like about being trans, dysphoria, and a bunch of other stuff. Part way through that conversation it was like she started realizing what it all meant and began crying about how she really was a woman. I didn’t really understand it, but she was happy, and that made me happy too.

Earlier today, I managed to get some alone time on my laptop. It was the first time I really got to catch up with a bunch of friends. Unfortunately, JVivie wasn’t online, butshe rarely was so that wasn’t surprising, but Carmen and Irina were. Carmen said that JVivie and her had been really busy with some other activity. More importantly, Irina shared a bunch of videos with me of a group of ACTUAL magical girls. They’re so cool!!! The two older ones are so cool, and pretty, and super hot. My little lesbian heart can’t take it. And the way they look a each other… gosh, please be dating! I need them to be dating so hard! Cyan is super pretty too! Yellow is as well, though she seems really familiar. The footage rarely looks that good, but if I didn’t know better I’d think it was Carmen. And then there was the last one. The super pretty cute and adorable Magenta! She’s so pretty and cute and… I wonder if I go to school with her. I’m sure a girl like her is probably out of my league, but still, a girl can dream!

I can’t believe it! What is wrong with them!? I watched the footage a lot! Sure, it wasn’t the best quality, but it was obvious, even from a distance, that the Prism Girls were in the right. They arrived after those thugs started attacking that woman! And they only beat them up a bit. Maybe it wasn’t entirely self-defense, but the guys were safe and sound. So, why are the police calling them the bad guys!? It makes me so mad!

I bet they’re jealous! The Prism Girls have been super popular and people have been really supportive of them. And they’ve done a heck of a lot more than the police have. They’re too busy harassing the camps people set up because they’re either homeless or can’t go home because of their transformation! They must be upset that the Prism Girls have a better reputation. I bet that’s why they’re targeting them!

Mom finally broke down and decided to give us our phones back yesterday! First thing I tried was to get back in touch with JVivie today. She didn’t respond at first, but we got back into talking really quickly. We talked a lot about the Prism Girls! I knewshe'd be into them!SHe always did love magical girls. SHe seems to be an even bigger fan than me somehow, causeshe got super juicy info! Red and Blue are dating, just like I thought! I know her well enough to knowshe wouldn’t lie about something like this.

I really hope we can meet up again. I wanna show off my new dryad form and stuff. (I learned that I can turn my green skin back into a human tan the other day!) I’m a little nervous to bring up Mama though. To be honest, after learning about what Mama went through, I started wondering if JVivie is going through something similar. Who knows, maybeshe turned into a girl like Mama. They both seemed to get really depressed about similar things, andshe's been using lots of super cute emoticons now… Maybe I’m thinking too much about this.

OMG OMG OMG

Vivi! Her name is Vivi!? That cute adorable girl! The girl I’ve been crushing on! She’s actually… I’m still processing it. But… Gosh, I said so many embarrassing things! She must think I’m a total loser! She’s so cool and pretty! And she’s a superhero magical girl now! B-but…M-maybe she likes me? I hope she does. I like her. A lot.

Gosh, I’m just thinking about all the times when we were younger, all the times she was all tiny and shy, and imagining Magenta like that… Fuuuuuu. And just when Mom and Mama decided to extend our vacation too! I just wanna go home and cuddle my girlfriend! Er… well… we’re not yet… But it’s Vivi… She’s always had a crush on me.. And… her not being a girl… er, me not realizing she was a girl? I think that was all that was stopping me. I mean, she’s so cute and shy, but she’s also sweet and caring and considerate and kind and cute and pretty and kissable and and and

I just want to go home!!! Stupid vacation! I wanna see her!!!

Eeeee!!! Two days! I’m finally going to see her in TWO days!!!

I am so excited!!! I haven't gotten to see her since we left for our vacation. Even though we've been back for a bit, the dry heat was getting a little hard for me, so I couldn't go out much. I'm a little better now thanks to Mom and big sis. For some reason, their angel magic has made learning magic super easy for them, and they've been trying to teach Mama, baby sis, and I some moisturizing spells to keep us healthy. I'm starting to get the hang of it, and I realized the other day that going with human skin makes it harder to dry up. But by the time I'd learned all that, I'd run out of chances to hang out with Vivi.

Eeee! I'm so excited to see her!!! I can't stop thinking about her! Mama has even started teasing me that we'll need to learn some safety stuff. And... I can't deny that I want to... But I don't think Vivi will be quite... prepared for that kind of thing. Knowing her she's probably... Heehee! I bet teasing her is going to be a bunch of fun!

...I really hope I'm not imagining things. I... really really like her. I just hope she likes me the same way.
