Chapter 21: Paper Trails and Paranoid Glances

Puck Me Harder: A Stepbrother Romance [BL]

Micah’s POV

After the sheer, unadulterated chaos of yesterday, walking into the university campus today felt like stepping into a lion’s den. The hallways were absolutely buzzing. Everywhere I turned, groups of students were huddled together, whispering frantically and laughing as they stared down at their glowing phone screens.

My stomach did a violent flip. I didn’t need to ask to know exactly what they were reading. It was my article. Volume Two.

The confirmation hit me the second I glanced out the grand hallway windows overlooking the main parking lot. A massive crowd of giggling girls had completely swarmed Damon Silver’s notorious red sports car, taking photos and practically drooling over the hood. I felt a sudden, sharp rush of heat flood my cheeks. I had poured every single ounce of my racing pulse, my guilt, and my forbidden imagination into that column after what had happened between us in the front seat of that exact car.

I tightly shut my eyes for a brief second, forcing myself to take a ragged breath.

’Stop thinking about it, Micah. Just go to class.’

I needed to focus on my schedule and find a way to get my registration signed by the head coach later today. I hurried down the corridor toward the large, stadium-style lecture hall. Because this specific course was a compulsory general requirement, the room was always packed to the brim with students from various departments, along with a handful of unmotivated seniors who had put off taking it until their final year.

The moment I pushed open the heavy doors, a wave of loud, echoing chatter hit me. I let out a small breath of relief seeing that the professor hadn’t arrived yet.

I quickly navigated the stairs and found an empty seat near the middle row, trying my absolute best to blend into the background. But the universe clearly had other plans. The exact moment I sat down, the group of girls sitting directly in the row in front of me shifted, and my heart slammed violently against my ribs. One of them was holding a freshly printed piece of paper from the campus forums.

My eyes automatically locked onto the bold, scandalous text:

VARSITY AFTER DARK

Volume Two: Choked, Clumsy, and Completely Swallowed

By: The_Secret_Sinner

If Volume One gave you a taste of assistant captain Damon Silver’s dark side, Volume Two is going to leave you completely breathless. Literally. Because if you ever find yourself trapped in an enclosed space with him... like the tight, leather interior of a parked sports car while the rest of the world blurs past... you will quickly learn that his dominance doesn’t stop at the waist.

He will force you to use your mouth, and he will make sure you swallow every single drop of him.

The moment your fumbling, trembling hands wrap around that massive, rigid eight inches, the sheer heat of it is blinding. He expects total submission, even if you are completely inexperienced. In fact, he prefers it. Even if you are clumsy, even if your teeth roughly scrape against his sensitive skin as you try to fit his thick, veiny shaft into your mouth, the desperate suction will drive him absolutely insane.

But don’t think for a second that Damon is going to let you set the pace.

He has zero patience when he is hard. The exact moment he feels himself getting close, he will violently tangle his thick fingers into your hair, locking your head in place with a vice-like grip. He will completely take over the rhythm, forcefully shoving his hips forward and drilling that heavy, pulsing length straight down your throat. He will force you to take every single inch, burying himself deep until you are completely choking, your throat tight as wet, desperate bobbing sounds echo through the quiet space. He wants to see your eyes tear up. He wants to feel you helpless beneath his hands.

And the finish is pure, unadulterated brutality.

Damon will hold you down ruthlessly as he hits his limit, letting out a dark moan while a massive, thick torrent of hot cum erupts straight into the back of your throat. It will flood your mouth, coat your tongue, and leak out onto your clothes. The second he finally releases his grip and lets you pull away, you will be left gagging, coughing, and desperately trying to catch your breath over the console.

And all the tatted alpha will do is smirk down at you, watching you wipe his mess off your face while he tells you exactly how cute you look when you’re completely ruined.

Volume Three drops next week. Keep practicing, campus. You never know when it will be your turn to choke.

.

A strange, toxic wave of secret pride swelled inside my chest as I watched them whisper-read my own words. I had written that. But beneath the thrill, a sudden exhaustion crept in. I was already getting entirely tired of dedicating all my thoughts to Damon’s anatomy. Deep down, I desperately wanted to shift my focus to Noah. I knew that if I were to write a column about Noah, I would have an infinite amount of intense, romantic passion to pour onto the page.

But the campus didn’t want sweet romance. They loved Damon.

Damon was a chaotic, dangerous psychopath, yet people worshiped the ground he walked on. The student body respected and admired Noah like a saint, but there was something dark and magnetic about Damon that drove everyone absolutely insane. Including me.

I fiercely shook my head, gripping my pen.

’I don’t need to think about Noah, or Damon, or...’

Suddenly, the heavy lecture hall doors flew open with a loud bang, and the entire room erupted into high-pitched screams and frantic cheering. A few of the varsity hockey guys stepped across the threshold, their massive athletic frames instantly dominating the space. Walking right at the front of the pack were Damon and Noah.

The crowd immediately began chanting their names in a deafening rhythm.

I froze instantly, my toes curling tightly inside my sneakers. A cold sweat broke out across the back of my neck, and my grip around the straps of my backpack tightened until my knuckles turned stark white. I stared down at them, my eyes lingering heavily on Damon. The resentment from yesterday rushed back into my veins; I could still feel the phantom sting of falling on the cold ice while he stood there grinning, refusing to lift a finger to help me up.

As if sensing the pure venom in my glare, Damon’s dark eyes snapped directly to my row. The moment he spotted me, that signature, wicked smirk spread across his face, and he lazily waved a hand in my direction.

I violently tore my gaze away from him, hugging my backpack tightly against my chest like a shield.

When I dared to look back down at the steps, Noah was the one staring at me. His expression was completely different... soft, warm, and comforting. He flashed me a gentle, reassuring smile, and I couldn’t help but smile back, the tension in my shoulders easing just a fraction.

In front of me, the girls began leaning closer to each other, their gossiping whispers cutting through the noise.

"Oh my god! They are both so ridiculously hot!"

"Why are they even attending a regular lecture? Aren’t they supposed to be at the rink?"

"I heard something crazy happened to their head coach this morning. So until management brings in a replacement, they’re required to attend their general elective classes."

"God, I seriously hope one of them sits close to me."

"Shhh! Look! Damon and Noah are coming straight up this aisle. Move your bags!"

My breath completely hitched as I watched the two alpha players march up the concrete steps. To my absolute horror, Noah stepped into my row and slid into the empty seat directly on my right-hand side. Before I could even process his presence, Damon lightly vaulted right over the back of the wooden chair, landing smoothly in the seat directly on my left.

I was completely trapped between them.

"Hey there, Micah," Damon purred lazily. Before I could pull away, he reached over, deliberately tangling his long, warm fingers deep into my hair, tugging just enough to make my heart race.

Noah’s face darkened instantly, a fierce frown marring his handsome features as his eyes locked onto Damon’s hand. "What exactly do you think you’re doing, Silver?" Noah demanded, his voice dropping into a dangerous, low register.

"Just playing around, captain," Damon replied smoothly, lifting an amused eyebrow as he kept his fingers woven through my strands.

"Take your hands off him right now," Noah ordered, the command sharp enough to cut glass. Damon didn’t even bother to answer, his smirk only growing wider.

By now, the entire lecture hall had fallen dead silent. Every single pair of eyes in the room was pinned squarely on our row. I felt a suffocating wave of discomfort wash over me, the sheer weight of their stares making me wish the floorboards would crack open and swallow me whole.

The whispers started up again, louder and more intense this time.

"Who even is that guy in the middle?"

"I’ve never seen him around the athletic department before. He looks like a fragile first-year..."

"Get your filthy hands off my brother," Noah growled a second time, his jaw clenching tightly. Hearing the explicit threat, Damon finally let his hand slide out of my hair, though his chaotic eyes never left my face.

The crowd in front of us gasped.

"Wait, that’s his actual brother?"

"I’ve heard rumors about Noah having a younger brother, but wow... he looks so incredibly small compared to them."

Desperate to diffuse the suffocating, violent tension suffocating our row before a physical fight broke out right in the middle of class, I forced a tight smile and looked at Noah. "Noah... I heard the whispers earlier about something happening to the hockey coach. Did he suddenly get sick or something?"

Noah’s icy blue gaze didn’t shift from my face for a single second. His terrifyingly rigid posture relaxed in a split second, and he offered me a perfectly calm, smooth smile. "The coach probably just had to go somewhere far away for an unexpected family emergency, Micah. Don’t worry about it."

"Oh," I muttered, a strange, uneasy knot forming in the pit of my stomach. "I just... I honestly thought something terrible had happened to him. Yesterday on the ice, you and Damon looked like you were genuinely ready to go kill him or something."

I let out a forced, nervous laugh, trying to play it off as a harmless joke. But Noah didn’t laugh. His smile remained completely static, entirely devoid of any real warmth. A sudden chill ran down my spine. I quickly cut my eyes to the left to look at Damon, but my breath caught when I saw that he was wearing the exact same blank, unreadable expression as my brother.

The sudden, synchronized silence between the two rivals was deafening. I knew right then, with absolute certainty, that Noah was lying straight to my face.

Before I could question the unsettling look in their eyes, the heavy front doors creaked open again, and the elderly professor walked into the room, tossing his briefcase onto the podium to start the lecture.

I stared straight ahead at the whiteboard, my heart hammering against my ribs as the dark silence pressed in from both sides of my seat.

’These two are hiding something life-altering,’ I thought, my hands trembling against my notebook. ’Or... is it just Noah? Whatever the hell it is, I am going to find out.’
