Jiang Shu’s head lowered even further. He didn’t reply, only gave a slight shake of his head.

At this school, even getting medicine from the infirmary cost money. Although the prices were cheap and loose pills were available, the mere 30 yuan Jiang Shu had left had already been stolen.

The money from his part-time job had to be saved for tuition and couldn’t be touched.Full novel: Quick Transmigration: Absorb Full Energy in Every World — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

By now, Ling An had already sat up. After sleeping through an entire class, he was fully rested.

Lunchtime was coming after this class, and Ling An was actually looking forward to it.

Having received the original owner’s memories of starving in the apocalypse, Ling An had been influenced by this body as well, craving anything edible.

That was the downside of soul transmigration, one could easily be affected by the original owner’s obsessions or habits.

But fortunately, this body’s only flaw was its love of food, and Ling An didn’t mind that at all.

Seeing that Jiang Shu wouldn’t go to the infirmary despite being injured so badly, Ling An silently gave him a wave of approval in his heart.

Truly worthy of being a villain, beaten this badly and still refusing to go to the infirmary.

Seeing that Jiang Shu wouldn’t go to the infirmary, Wu Ying could only sigh helplessly and spoke again in resignation: “Jiang Shu, from now on, be careful and stay away from those people.

As long as you don’t provoke them, why would they hit you?”

“It takes two to tango, Jiang Shu. You should reflect on yourself too.”

“Ah, I won’t say more. Class is starting, everyone…”

Ling An: “…”

Seeing Jiang Shu merely nod calmly after listening to Wu Ying’s words, Ling An didn’t know what to say anymore.

How was this villain not tough at all?

He just accepted even such twisted reasoning. Truly worthy of being a villain.

The class passed quickly. When the bell rang, the students began packing up their things and headed off in twos and threes to eat or to the convenience store.

The classroom gradually emptied.

Only Jiang Shu, who slumped over his desk pretending to sleep the moment class ended, and Ling An, who had just returned from the bathroom, remained.

Seeing that the villain had actually fallen asleep right at mealtime, Ling An walked over and kindly poked Jiang Shu, trying to wake him up.

But Jiang Shu wasn’t actually asleep. His back simply hurt too much, and after another class he was even more exhausted, only lying prone could ease the pain a little.

Feeling someone poke him, Jiang Shu’s whole body stiffened. Slowly, he raised his head.

Upon seeing that it was Ling An, his face instantly turned pale, his eyes revealing his fear of Ling An.

And Ling An finally got a clear look at Jiang Shu’s face.

The midday sunlight streamed through the gap in the curtains, falling on the boy’s already bloodless face, adding an even more translucent quality to it.

His oversized clothes made him look all the more frail, and he met Ling An’s gaze with a pair of peach-blossom eyes full of terror.

For a moment, Ling An felt it was a pity.

Such beautiful peach-blossom eyes, if they were filled with nothing but love, how captivating would that be?

As he thought this, Ling An’s hand reached up and brushed over the boy’s brow and eyes.

Dazzled by the sight for a moment, Ling An only wanted to use his hand to smooth away the sorrow in the boy’s eyes.

Seeing Ling An raise his hand, Jiang Shu reacted instinctively, trying to dodge.

He had already taken many slaps like that.

He closed his eyes, waiting for the pain to come.

He waited for a long while, but the pain never came. Instead, there was a gentle caress.

Ling An’s hands were large, one hand could cover Jiang Shu’s entire face.

Such a beautiful face, Ling An would sooner cherish it than ever raise a hand against it. He was, after all, famously a lover of beauty.

“You…”

Jiang Shu was caught completely off guard by Ling An’s actions.

He could only stare blankly at Ling An with those amorous, peach-blossom eyes.

Afraid of scaring this beautiful little villain silly, Ling An gave him a touch and then let go.

But the smooth, delicate feel of the skin still lingered on his fingertips, making Ling An’s hand tighten slightly.

“Where’s the cafeteria? Take me there.”

Hearing Ling An’s cold, hard words,

Jiang Shu somehow felt a trace of disappointment in his heart, but quickly pushed it aside.

He stammered out an “Okay,”

stood up, and led Ling An to the cafeteria.

The classroom wasn’t far from the cafeteria just a five-minute walk, and they arrived.

Jiang Shu wanted to leave once he’d brought him there, but Ling An grabbed him.

“I don’t know how to buy food. Come in with me.”

Jiang Shu nodded dumbly and led Ling An to the serving window.

The school cafeteria had self-selected dishes. Ling An glanced over, there were over 40 kinds, a rich variety and very cheap.

The most expensive were 15 yuan, the cheapest only 2, though the cheap ones were all vegetable dishes.

Rice was 2 yuan per serving, each serving a fixed bowlful. Ling An, feeling it wouldn’t be enough, added four bowls of rice.

He picked seven or eight dishes, deliberately choosing only the expensive ones.

This one meal cost him around 100 yuan.

Jiang Shu could only ignore the steaming food beside him, praying Ling An would hurry up and let him go.

Jiang Shu hadn’t eaten anything yesterday and had been starving ever since. Now he had nothing to eat at all, he just wanted to go back and drink some water to fill his stomach.

But he couldn’t help swallowing. It would be a lie to say he wasn’t tempted, but he didn’t dare look any longer, so he lowered his head even further.

Ling An just thought this little villain was really adorable.

He called the cafeteria lady over and had her prepare another ordinary portion two meat dishes and one vegetable.

After paying, the total came to 131 yuan.

Ling An amusingly nudged Jiang Shu, still speaking coldly: “This is a reward for you. Come eat with me, and after you finish, write all my homework for today.”

The tray landed in Jiang Shu’s hands, and an absurd feeling inexplicably rose in his heart.

He looked at the two meat dishes and one vegetable on the tray, then at Ling An’s departing back.

Then he looked at the tray again. His thoughts were jumbled for a good while before Jiang Shu hurriedly caught up with Ling An.

“Thank you.”

The thanks, faint as a mosquito’s hum, was just barely audible to Ling An, who was at the Qi Refining stage.

Looking down, he met those amorous peach-blossom eyes and in them, at last, there was none of the frightened dread that Ling An found so distasteful.

This little villain was so easy to fool, one meal and he’d been coaxed into a little white rabbit.

Could it be that his parents don’t even feed him at home? Look how skinny this little villain is Ling An felt he could strangle him with one hand.

They found an empty spot and sat down.

The moment he sat down, Ling An started devouring his food in a whirlwind.

Ling An ate quickly, but not at all crudely rather, it was a pleasure to watch.

Jiang Shu sat across from Ling An. He ate very slowly, chewing each bite carefully, eating as if treasuring every mouthful.

It had been a long time since Jiang Shu had eaten a hot meal like this, and a wave of gratitude toward Ling An rose in his heart.

This Ling An wasn’t as brutal as everyone said. He looked fierce, sure, but he was probably a good person.

Just as they were finishing, someone slapped Jiang Shu heavily on the shoulder.

That grating, obnoxious voice rang out through the cafeteria.

“Wow, Jiang, you’ve actually got money to eat now? Looks like life’s getting better for you! Me and your sixth brother happen to haven’t eaten yet treat us to a meal!”

Jiang Shu shivered at Zhao Jian’s slap, and the wound on his back began to ache dully again.

Jiang Shu stiffly turned his head and saw the sly, grinning faces of Zhao Jian and Wen Liu.

But in an instant, those two faces vanished.
