The kitchen fridge was surprisingly large—a double-door model, no less.

Su He opened it excitedly, but well, she should have seen it coming. Since the original owner of this body never ate at home and had no money, how could there be snacks or vegetables?

Inside the fridge, rows of instant noodle bowls and bottles of mineral water were lined up with military precision. These were all Shen Juanzhou’s supplies.Full novel: Quick Transmigration: Falling in Love with a Good-Looking Guy — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

But Su He was genuinely starving. She felt that if she didn’t get some food into her system right now, her heart wouldn’t just skip a beat—it might stop altogether. Licking her lips, she let her hand linger on an instant noodle bowl for a long time, looking a bit sketchy. It wasn’t that she hadn’t thought about ordering takeout, but she knew the original owner had left her with next to nothing. A single delivery order would cost at least twenty yuan, and Su He couldn’t bring herself to spend it.

Thump! A door creaked open.

Su He turned around. The bedroom door on the north side, which had been tightly shut, was pulled open from the inside. A tall, lean, and handsome man walked out.

Perhaps not expecting the living room lights to be on or someone to be in the kitchen, Shen Juanzhou’s cold eyes flickered with a momentary daze. He lazily lifted his eyelids, glanced at Su He, and walked toward the bathroom as if nothing had happened.

Su He was stunned. She knew her roommate was handsome, but she didn’t realize the original owner’s roommate was this good-looking. Sharp features, long limbs, and clean-cut short hair. Just that casual glance from him made her heart go thump-thump. This roommate was better looking than some celebrities!

When Shen Juanzhou came out of the bathroom, he didn’t even look at Su He this time. Su He snapped out of it, her stomach cramping painfully.

“Wait a minute!” Su He called out.

Shen Juanzhou paused and turned around, looking at Su He with a trace of impatience. He frowned, wondering what kind of trick this roommate was trying to pull now.

He hadn’t forgotten the time she purposely dressed provocatively to knock on his door; he knew exactly what she was up to. If she hadn’t been relatively quiet otherwise, he would have moved out long ago.

Su He pumped herself up mentally—pride doesn’t put food on the table, and one must be flexible. “Um, could I eat one of your instant noodles?”

Fearing he would refuse, she quickly promised, “Think of it as a loan. I’ll buy some and pay you back tomorrow!”

Shen Juanzhou crossed his arms, eyed her suspiciously for a moment, and then turned away. “Whatever.”

Slam! He went into his room and shut the door.

Before Su He could even move, she heard another sound—the distinct click of the door being deadbolted. Su He was speechless. She wasn’t that thirsty, okay!

When Su He opened the fridge again, she hesitated for a second, but when she took out the noodles, she grabbed a bottle of water too. In her past life, she only drank purified water. The thought of boiling tap water to cook her noodles made her stomach turn as if she’d swallowed a fly.

I’ll pay it all back tomorrow anyway, she thought.

She boiled the mineral water and poured it into the noodle bowl. Soon, the rich aroma of tomato broth wafted through the air. Su He sighed to herself—if only she had two eggs, a few slices of beef, and some bok choy, it would be perfect.

After a moment of daydreaming while biting her chopsticks, she stirred the noodles. They weren’t quite ready yet, so she took a few sips of the soup first. After half a bowl of broth, she felt like she’d been reborn.

She had never eaten anything so “clean” in her life—the bowl was empty, and every drop of soup was gone. She leaned back lazily and closed her eyes to relax.

So comfortable…

Shen Juanzhou had already eaten at 6:00 PM; he had ordered a rice bowl.

Even with the thick scent of tomatoes lingering outside, it didn’t stop him from feeling hungry again.

As the noise outside gradually died down, Shen Juanzhou stood up and bid his fans goodbye. “I’m hungry, going to find something to eat.”

The moment he opened the door, he saw Su He sprawled out on the sofa like a giant “X.” From her expression, she looked thoroughly satisfied with her meal.

He gave a soft snort and walked into the kitchen.

Next to the electric kettle sat an empty mineral water bottle. It looked like she hadn’t stopped at just a bowl of noodles. While waiting for the water to boil, he pulled a bottle of water from the fridge and took the opportunity to massage his stiff fingers and aching muscles.

His gaze swept casually across the room; Su He was still passed out on the sofa.

He carried his bowl of instant noodles back into his room, the “bang” of the closing door signaling his absolute refusal to communicate.

The sound of the door slamming woke Su He up. She had accidentally drifted off. Sigh… falling asleep after being full and hydrated was just too comfortable.

She cleared the trash off the table and wiped the surface clean with a rag before heading back to her room.

The original owner’s phone was lying on the bed. Earlier, Su He had only had time to check the clock, nothing else. Now, she desperately wanted to know how much money the original owner had saved for her.

First, she opened her WeChat Pay balance: 4.25. Well, at least it wasn’t a flat zero.

Next, she checked her various banking apps. She didn’t even need a calculator; since the total was under 500, she could do the math in her head.

The hope Su He had been clinging to died. Her world was collapsing.

The next morning, Su He felt like she hadn’t slept at all.

However, her powerful biological clock—combined with a balance of less than five hundred yuan—forced her out of bed.

She checked the time; she had thirty minutes left.

She washed her face at lightning speed. This time, she didn’t even bother with makeup, only applying toner and lotion before shoving on her shoes and sprinting out the door. She absolutely could not let the floor manager dock her pay again!

After a frantic dash that left her gasping for air, Su He finally pressed her thumb onto the scanner under the manager’s cold, judgmental gaze.

“Su He, Good Morning!” the time clock chirped, signaling a successful check-in.

Su He breathed a long sigh of relief. Only then did she notice a man standing nearby. His hair was long enough to reach his eyes and was clumped together with grease. His clothes were wrinkled and smelled strongly of kitchen oil and smoke.

Su He discreetly took half a step back. Based on the original owner’s memory, this was Liu Rui, a food runner responsible for serving dishes. He usually hovered around the original owner. Beautiful people, after all, naturally attracted attention.

Seeing Su He look over, Liu Rui grinned. “Su He, you live too far away. If you stayed in the dorms like us, you’d save twenty minutes.”

The restaurant provided dorms nearby, but they were co-ed—boys in one room, girls in another. Men often hung around the girls’ rooms to flirt. The original owner had visited once and immediately refused the arrangement.

“It’s fine, I just left the house late,” Su He replied flatly.

Before he could say anything else, Su He hoisted her bag. “I’m going to change now.” She turned and walked away.

Inside the locker room, several girls were already squeezed in. They were all stripping off their clothes at once, revealing pale skin everywhere.

Su He frowned at the sight but quickly changed into the original owner’s uniform: a short skirt and shirt, paired with stockings and cloth shoes.

Once changed, Su He didn’t linger and headed straight out. She didn’t notice that the girls inside were still gossiping about her.

“No wonder Su He gets all the attention. Look at her chest…”

“Look at her curves and that waist…”

As soon as the girl spoke, the others looked down at themselves. Their moods soured instantly. They shoved their discarded clothes into their lockers and slammed the doors shut with a loud thud.
