1 – Competing with the Man and the Bitch for the Fish Pond
“Master, would you like to enter the mission now?”
She couldn’t resist asking again: “Are you really sure you don’t know my name?”
Her mind was completely blank. Aside from a genderless, milky-voiced system, she knew nothing at all. Could this so-called Mission System be tricking her?
“Sorry, 001 truly doesn’t know.”
The 001 system continued: “But Master, as long as you complete missions and Capture the targets, you can exchange points to restore your memories.”
“Using someone else’s body – wouldn’t that mean stealing their life?” Even with all her memories gone, she despised such methods.
“Master, every World I take you to can be viewed as a storybook. The individuals involved all lead miserable lives, serving as foils to the protagonists. They willingly offer themselves in exchange for peaceful rest of their souls.”
Miserable lives? Nothing more than attachments of love, hatred, anger, and obsession!
Well then, she would proceed step by step while observing this system’s true intentions!
She said: “Alright, enter the mission now.”
“World transmission in progress. The 001 system will escort you safely.”
…
The moment she opened her eyes, she sensed something was wrong. What was with this completely naked man who needed a Mosaic?
Anxiously, she called out in her mind: “001? 001!”
There was no response.
The man grabbed her jaw, forcing her face up toward his. His grip was so strong it made her chin ache, and a tear fell from the corner of her eye from the physical pain.
“Crying?” The man sneered coldly: “I’m not interested in fake pity, Yu Ai. Drugging me? After being by my side for so long, I never realized you had such schemes!”
Yu Ai? So the original host was called Yu Ai?
No way, was this man the male lead? Did the original host drug him? Such cliché and cringeworthy plot?
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her head and she fainted. All memories of the original host’s life flashed through her mind.
The content was completely different from the cliché plot she had imagined. The original host was named Yu Ai. Though not from an extremely wealthy family, she came from highly educated parents – her father was a university professor, her mother the head physician of obstetrics and gynecology.
The original host was beautiful, gentle-natured, and had been the well-behaved child everyone praised since childhood. She graduated as a top student from University A and had a professor husband she had loved for six years. Just when she seemed to have won at life, everything was completely destroyed when she turned twenty-five.
Zhou Hui lived up to her name – ordinary in both name and appearance. Yet this very person could attract countless high-quality men to fall into her fish pond. This type of person was commonly known as a Womanizer.
The original host’s husband Ying Yi was one fish in this pond, along with the naked man she just saw – her superior named Mo Yihan, and another childhood friend Han Haoyu.
If Zhou Hui was the catalyst, then these three men could be said to be the chief culprits who pushed the original host into the abyss.
The turning point of fate occurred today.
Today was the wedding of the original host and her boyfriend of six years, Ying Yi. The entire wedding was scheduled at the hotel belonging to her own company, which was under Mo Yihan’s corporation.
She had been waiting joyfully in the hotel for her husband, never expecting such dogblood drama to strike so suddenly.
The original host’s husband Ying Yi entered the wrong room! He went to the bridesmaid Zhou Hui’s room next door. Whether it was subconscious behavior or genuine drunkenness, he cheated on the very first day of their marriage.
From then on, he began a year-long emotional entanglement with Zhou Hui.Meanwhile, Mo Yihan, who had fallen into a trap during a business engagement, mistakenly entered her bridal suite. Drunk and overly conceited, he assumed the original host was trying to climb the social ladder by deliberately seducing him.
Despite being the one who stripped the original host completely naked, he called security, accusing her of premeditated seduction and causing her immense humiliation. Without verifying the truth, he immediately had her fired from the company.
From then on, the original host sank into depression. Later, her husband Ying Yi, though fully aware of the truth, remained silent, allowing her to struggle in the abyss.
Burdened by guilt, Ying Yi treated the original host exceptionally well throughout their year of marriage but never touched her.
The original host continued to blame herself, attending to Ying Yi’s every need with meticulous care. Yet, no matter how beautiful or devoted she was, she could never compare to Zhou Hui, who was plain in appearance.
Eventually, the original host witnessed her husband’s infidelity firsthand, a blow she found hard to accept.
Even more unbelievable was that Han Haoyu, her childhood friend, claimed she was unlovable and stubbornly refused to let go.
Only then did she realize Han Haoyu had long admired Zhou Hui, idolizing her as a goddess.
Furious, the original host couldn’t accept that she was the victim while Ying Yi sought a divorce to be with that wretched woman.
How could she accept it? Six years of feelings—just gone like that? If he no longer loved her, why not say it outright? Why deceive her?
She began targeting Zhou Hui, going to her school to expose her as a homewrecker. But how could the fish in Zhou Hui’s pond allow her to tarnish Zhou Hui’s reputation?
Ying Yi filed for divorce, citing her alleged affair with her superior on their wedding day.
To protect the company’s image, Mo Yihan claimed she had seduced him.
Han Haoyu pressured the original host to divorce Ying Yi to make way for Zhou Hui.
Rumors spread like wildfire at the university where her father taught: the daughter of a professor was materialistic, married, and seducing her superior. As respected figures, her parents were devastated.
Her father, a university professor, fell gravely ill from the shame of the scandal.
Her mother, caught in the controversy, was fired from the hospital and aged ten years overnight.
The original host, mentally shattered, stood atop the hotel where she had married and, at a young age, jumped to her death.
…
Yu Ai slowly awoke, a heavy sense of resentment lingering in her chest—was this the original host’s lingering emotions?
“Oh? Not pretending to faint anymore?” Mo Yihan had just taken a cold shower to calm his nerves. Drying his hair dismissively, he sneered, “Almost fell for your trap. How could I ever touch a woman like you? If you don’t leave now, I’ll call security…”
Slap!
Before he could finish, Yu Ai struck him across the face.
The slap felt immensely satisfying to her. If he couldn’t speak properly, he should shut up.
She couldn’t let him call security now—but even if he did, she would be the victim. The original host had been meek, collapsing into tears in crises, too overwhelmed to defend herself, allowing the truth to be twisted.
“Yu Ai!” Mo Yihan’s face darkened. How dare she hit him!
“You pervert!” Tears welled in Yu Ai’s eyes, her voice trembling. “I’m calling the police!”
“I got married today! What are you doing barging into my room like this?”
Wrapping herself tightly in the blanket, she hurried nervously toward the door.
Mo Yihan finally took note of the room’s decor—it did resemble a specially arranged hotel bridal suite.A fierce glint flashed in Mo Yihan’s gloomy eyes. He had fallen for a trap this time, and he wouldn’t let this fool off easily.
Yu Ai was from his own company. No matter how stupid Manager Zhang was, he wouldn’t send someone from his own company to seduce him. He had indeed mistaken her for someone else.
By the time he regained his senses, Yu Ai was almost touching the door handle.
Mo Yihan quickly moved to block the woman at the door, locking the door with one hand while grabbing her arm with the other. “Don’t move!”
The woman flinched like a startled rabbit, pushing and struggling to break free. “Don’t… don’t touch me!”
Her clothes had already been torn off by Mo Yihan earlier, leaving only a bedsheet wrapped around her body. Half of it slipped off during her struggles, revealing just enough to tantalize.
The woman’s fair skin and exquisite figure were exposed before the man’s eyes.
Mo Yihan’s gaze deepened, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed. Watching Yu Ai’s terrified expression—like a frightened little rabbit with tears glistening in her eyes—he felt a surge of admiration. The body temperature he had suppressed with cold water seemed to be rising again.
Yu Ai looked up to find the man staring at her as if she were a delicious cake. “You… let go of me first.”
Two seconds later, Mo Yihan laughed. He had never denied himself anything in his life. She was just a woman—what did it matter? If he wanted her, he would take her.
With strong arms, he lifted the woman and threw her onto the bed, pressing down on her.
“Ah!” Yu Ai cried out in alarm. “Let me go! What are you trying to do?”
“Shut up!”
Mo Yihan leaned over her, watching her body tremble slightly. Her red-rimmed eyes, under the dim lighting, were utterly captivating, fueling the fire burning within him even more intensely.
