20 – Competing with the Man for the Fish Pond

Yu Ai was just born into a slightly better family and is a bit prettier than her, so why does she get to marry a good husband and even have an affair with such a diamond bachelor?

Remembering the last time she asked Yu Ai to take her to their company’s annual party, she accidentally spilled a little wine on the other person, and the look Mo Yihan gave her was nothing but disdain.Full novel: Quick Transmigration: The Scumbag Cries While Eating My Ashes — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The hand that was about to send the photo withdrew.

Han Haoyu liked her, but a competitive racer’s career is limited, and his parents are frugal in every aspect.

Ying Yi is the one in her fish pond with the best overall conditions, and his father even works in a government unit. Unfortunately, Yu Ai got to him first.

It took her so long to slowly break through Ying Yi bit by bit, but after just one outing with Yu Ai, he changed again.

Looking at the man in the photo—wealthy and rich—Zhou Hui thought to herself, even if she’s lacking, she’s still better than a married woman, right?

…

After sending Mo Yihan away, the people playing ball below had already dispersed.

“Where did you go just now?” Ying Yi said, “Let’s go back.”

“Mm.” Yu Ai also smiled at Han Haoyu, who was wiping his sweat, and said, “Xiao Yu, come over to my place for a meal next time.”

Han Haoyu grabbed Zhou Hui and said, “Let’s go, I’ll take you back to the dorm,” completely ignoring Yu Ai.

Zhou Hui pretended to cheerfully wave at Yu Ai and said, “Xiao Ai, let’s hang out again next time.”

From the car ride home to lying in bed, Ying Yi still felt uneasy. He didn’t understand why Yu Ai had agreed to Zhou Hui’s invitation.

This ball game was organized by Zhou Hui. As Yu Ai put it, they all move in the same circles and can’t avoid each other completely. She just asked him not to contact Zhou Hui privately in the future.

But he still felt a void in his heart, anxious and insecure. After returning from Tibet, his relationship with Ai Ai seemed to have grown closer.

The more he loved her, the more uneasy he became.

Ying Yi held Yu Ai in his arms, breathing in the fragrance of her hair, and only then did he feel a little more settled.

“Ai Ai~” The man’s magnetic voice was tinged with ambiguity, his hand gently caressing her waist and moving upward.

Yu Ai pulled his hand away. “A Yi, I… I’m still not ready.”

“Ai Ai, I’ll be gentle.” Ying Yi kissed Yu Ai’s neck, his thin lips barely touching her fair, delicate skin.

Yu Ai pushed him away with a frightened expression. “A Yi… I…”

Her eyes were full of panic. “I’m sorry…”

Seeing her flustered state, Ying Yi said, “I overstepped.”

Since they reconciled, Ai Ai has been unwilling to let him touch her. Ying Yi thought that even though she didn’t say it out loud, she must still hold a grudge over what happened between him and Zhou Hui.

He could understand—he was the one who made the mistake. He should give her more time.

“I… I’ll sleep in the guest room.” Yu Ai grabbed a pillow and left.

She had no desire to get intimate with Ying Yi. If possible, she’d rather no one touch her. Playing with you is fine, but sleeping with you? Not a chance. Dream on.

Ying Yi was taken aback, and his heart began to flutter with anxiety again. He and Yu Ai had been dating for six years but had never truly been together. Now that he had made a mistake, he had no right to force her.

Still, he couldn’t shake the feeling that Yu Ai was acting a bit unusual today.

Once Yu Ai entered the guest room, she began to ponder. Given Zhou Hui’s personality, why hadn’t she sent the solid evidence of the affair to Ying Yi?

Then it suddenly dawned on her—Zhou Hui’s ambitions were not small. And as it happened, her relationship with Mo Yihan could use a little extra spice. The next day, Yu Ai went back to work, only to find that Mo Yihan had actually set up a desk for her right next to his office.

Wow, was he planning to take this affair all the way?

Mo Yihan watched the woman working quietly beside him, her eyes fixed on the computer with a serious expression that somehow looked adorably clueless.

He had seen so many women—glamorous celebrities, aloof career elites, elegant ladies from respectable families—there was no type he hadn’t encountered.

This Yu Ai, aside from having a slightly higher education, seemed foolish and slow in every way, yet she was oddly appealing to him.

Yu Ai knew he was watching her but pretended to be focused, not even glancing at Mo Yihan.

Chen Ming knocked and entered, “President Mo, your meal has arrived.”

Only then did Yu Ai realize it was already lunchtime. She immediately stood up and said to Mo Yihan, “President, it’s time. I’ll go eat first.”

She turned to Chen Ming, who was about to leave, and said, “Assistant Chen, I’ll go down with you.”

Just as Yu Ai stepped away from her desk, she was called back.

“Wait.” Mo Yihan glanced at Chen Ming. “From now on, she’ll have her meals with me.”

Chen Ming adjusted his glasses and replied respectfully, “Understood, President Mo. You and Secretary Yu can take your time.”

As he left, he closed the door behind him. Chen Ming couldn’t figure out what the president was up to—his recent arrangements had been particularly strange.

Especially the boss’s keen interest in this Yu Ai… but wasn’t Secretary Yu married? President Mo knew that too.

“What are you standing there for?” Mo Yihan said. “Come and eat.”

Yu Ai slowly walked over, only to be pulled into Mo Yihan’s arms and seated on his lap.

When she tried to get up, the man held her down. “If you’re going to be a mistress, you should act like one.”

He scooped a spoonful of seafood soup and brought it to Yu Ai’s lips. “Open your mouth.”

Seeing the soup right in front of her, Yu Ai could only part her red lips slightly. The rich flavor of premium seafood spread across her taste buds.

But Yu Ai’s face scrunched up, and she swallowed it.

“What’s wrong?” Mo Yihan asked. “Does it taste bad?”

His work meals were all nutritious dishes delivered from a fixed five-star hotel—he ate them every day. Why was this woman making such a face?

Yu Ai shook her head and uttered a single word from her red lips: “Hot~.”

Mo Yihan chuckled. “Are you stupid? Didn’t you know to blow on it or spit it out?” How could she be so clueless!

Yu Ai seemed a bit embarrassed, her face flushing red.

This expression pleased Mo Yihan greatly. He handed her the chopsticks and said, “Feed me.”

Yu Ai froze for a moment before reluctantly taking the chopsticks. “What do you want to eat?”

“Anything is fine,” he replied.

Yu Ai picked up some Shanghai greens and fed them to him.

Mo Yihan opened his mouth without hesitation and instructed, “I want shrimp.”

Yu Ai went to peel the shrimp for him. Looking at the table full of dishes, even three people couldn’t finish it all—and this was just the standard for one of Mo Yihan’s meals.

She couldn’t help but mutter, “Wicked capitalist.”

“Hmm?” The man raised an eyebrow. “What? Not satisfied?”

Yu Ai immediately fed the peeled shrimp to him. “Eat up.”

By the end of the meal, Mo Yihan’s Affection Points had increased by another five points.

When it was time to leave work, Mo Yihan stopped Yu Ai. “Come to my place today?”

Yu Ai took out her phone. “My friend is waiting for me downstairs.”

Mo Yihan glanced at the screen. Zhou Hui?Yu Ai said, “She’s the girl who accidentally spilled wine on you at the last annual party. Xiao Hui has a rather careless personality. If she can’t find me waiting, she’ll definitely come up to look for me.”

“Fine, got it.” Mo Yihan replied with a cold expression, picking up his clothes and heading out, though the green Affection Points above his head never dropped.
