24 – Competing with the Manly Bitch for the Fish Pond
Yu Ai noticed that Mo Yihan was in an exceptionally good mood today, frequently glancing her way as if she wouldn’t notice.
He even wore a dreamy, lovesick smile from time to time. When it was time to leave work, Mo Yihan didn’t give her a hard time either—he simply left ahead of her.
“001, mark all the places Mo Yihan is going to visit later.”
“Understood, Master,” 001 replied. “Is there a problem?”
“Zhou Hui has probably decided to meet Mo Yihan,” Yu Ai said, already looking forward to the expression on Mo Yihan’s face later.
“Master, aren’t you worried that after chatting for so many days, they might actually develop feelings?” 001 felt Zhou Hui had some skill in fishing.
Worried?
Yu Ai sneered. With Mo Yihan’s extreme arrogance, if someone dared to deceive him…
She almost felt sorry for Zhou Hui’s fate.
…
Mo Yihan first had a private styling team prepare his look and even bought a bouquet of flowers.
He didn’t wait long in the hotel room before receiving a message saying she was nervous and wanted him to blindfold himself before entering.
Seeing the black silk cloth placed by the bedside, Mo Yihan’s eyebrows lifted, revealing his inner excitement.
So his little lover knew how to play games like this? He had underestimated Yu Ai.
Since he was already here, he might as well humor her. He tied the silk scarf over his eyes.
Zhou Hui, seeing that he hadn’t replied to her message, assumed he had followed her instructions and wasn’t checking his phone.
She had arrived early and waited outside. Although she had dimmed the room’s lights, Zhou Hui still felt uneasy. Still, Mo Yihan had chatted with her for so long without ever asking if she was Yu Ai, so she wasn’t exactly deceiving him.
Pushing the door open, Zhou Hui saw Mo Yihan sitting by the round bed, a bouquet of red roses beside him. Two buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing his Adam’s apple and delicate collarbone.
A few strands of hair fell over the black blindfold, and his handsome features, combined with the dim lighting, gave him an air of noble elegance.
Zhou Hui’s heart raced uncontrollably. Handsome and wealthy—for him, she was willing to give up the fish pond she had cultivated for so long.
Hearing the door open but no movement from the entrance, Mo Yihan asked, “Why aren’t you coming over? Hmm?”
His deep voice made Zhou Hui’s heart beat even faster. Mo Yihan perfectly matched all her criteria for a man.
Step by step, Zhou Hui walked toward him and sat beside him.
Just as Mo Yihan’s hand touched the blindfold, Zhou Hui quickly grabbed it.
The man turned his hand to hold hers. “What’s wrong? Don’t want me to see you?”
Zhou Hui only nodded, not daring to speak.
Mo Yihan pinned her down. “Not talking? Why so shy? Weren’t you the one who invited me here?”
As his face drew closer, Zhou Hui caught the scent of his cologne, and her heart raced even more.
Leaning down, Mo Yihan frowned. Yu Ai’s scent was always fresh and gentle, not like perfume.
Had she deliberately worn perfume today?
When the person beneath him wrapped her arms around his neck and tried to press closer, he immediately sensed something was off. In all their time together, Yu Ai would never take the initiative.
Mo Yihan pushed the person beneath him away and tore off the blindfold.
In the dim light, he saw an unfamiliar woman’s face.
Zhou Hui was startled at first, but since Mo Yihan had already seen her, she quickly put on a smile. “What’s wrong?”Mo Yihan stood up with a cold expression. Zhou Hui tried to grab him but was shoved to the ground by him.
“Ah!”
He used a lot of force, causing Zhou Hui’s head to hit the sharp corner of a nearby cabinet. She let out a painful scream.
Mo Yihan’s face was icy, his gaze chilling as he looked down at Zhou Hui, who was sprawled on the floor. “Who are you?”
Zhou Hui pretended not to understand. “I’m Xiao Ai. Why did you push me? It hurts so much.”
Mo Yihan sneered, his aura frigid and intimidating. “Where is Yu Ai?”
“What?” Zhou Hui feigned ignorance. “Yu Ai?”
“Are you questioning my intelligence or overestimating yourself?” Mo Yihan’s expression was filled with disgust. He remembered this woman.
When she had spilled red wine on him before, he had mocked her, thinking that this Hick trying to turn into a phoenix didn’t even bother changing her tactics.
The reason he remembered her wasn’t just because of her previous entanglement with Yu Ai’s husband.
In all his years, countless women had tried to approach him, and being splashed with wine was a trick he had encountered at least several times.
Among all those women who tried to attract his attention by spilling wine, Zhou Hui was the ugliest.
In Mo Yihan’s eyes, having seen countless beauties, Zhou Hui’s ordinary appearance was simply ugly.
“Using Yu Ai’s profile picture to chat with me is truly disgusting.” Mo Yihan felt nauseated from the bottom of his heart. This woman had already hooked up with Yu Ai’s husband, and now she was using that foolish woman’s name to do such things.
“No, that’s not it.” Zhou Hui immediately denied it. “I was the one chatting with you every day.”
Zhou Hui felt wronged. She was the one who had been chatting with him every day, yet he only remembered Yu Ai.
Mo Yihan sneered. Did she still think he was a fool?
The thought that he had been played like a fool by such a woman for so long, along with all the flirtatious words exchanged during their chats, filled him with rage. Mo Yihan felt insulted by an idiot.
“You don’t actually think that just because you’ve chatted with me and built some emotional connection, you can take someone else’s place, do you?” Mo Yihan looked at her with contempt. “Take a look at your own face. If it weren’t for you hiding behind someone else’s identity, would I have chatted with you for so long?”
This was the first time Zhou Hui had ever been told by a man that she was ugly. She was furious but still put on the expression of a victim.
“It’s not like that…” Tears began to fall as she spoke.
Mo Yihan found it even more repulsive. Indeed, ugly people looked even worse when they cried.
“Very few people know my private number, and I never add strangers. You got the number from Yu Ai, didn’t you?”
“That’s not it. I wanted to apologize for staining your clothes before, so I asked Xiao Ai for your number. I didn’t expect you to misunderstand.” Zhou Hui continued to defend herself. “She’s already married. I really didn’t think that much about it.”
Zhou Hui was implying that she hadn’t expected a married woman to be involved with her superior.
“Fine, then. The suit you stained before was custom-made, worth 560,000. Pay up.” He remembered that he hadn’t pursued the matter at the time because Yu Ai was an employee at his company, so he had let it go. Now, he didn’t want to let it go anymore.
Zhou Hui was stunned. How had things turned out so differently from what she had imagined?
“If you can’t pay within a month, my lawyer will meet you in court on my behalf.” Mo Yihan had no desire to watch Zhou Hui’s little act any longer. He turned and walked away.
Zhou Hui remained on the floor, clutching her injured head and gritting her teeth. She had never met such a rude man!
…”Hello?” Yu Ai listened to Mo Yihan’s call, but the other end remained silent for a long time.
“Hello, President Mo, what’s wrong?”
Beep! The call ended.
Yu Ai curled her lips. Probably too furious to speak?
