21 – The Cannon Fodder Female Supporting Character of the Aristocratic Family Twenty-One

Gu Yunze gazed at the white shirt she was wearing. Why didn’t it look this good on him? His throat moved slightly as he handed over a bag. “These are clothes I had my assistant buy. See if they fit!”

Jiang Huai took it. “Thank you!”Full novel: Quick Transmigration: The Villain Rolls Freely in My Palm — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She turned and went into the room to change.

A moment later.

Gu Yunze watched Jiang Huai walk out and decided this assistant who had taken matters into his own hands deserved to be fired.

The pale blue pleated dress, even shorter than his white shirt, clung tightly to her enchanting figure. Her dark hair cascaded casually over her shoulders, and the thin black bangs made her look both innocent and alluring.

The sleeves, slightly gathered at the shoulders, seemed as if they could be pulled down with a gentle tug to reveal her fair, tempting collarbones. Her impressive bust, slender waist that seemed graspable with one hand, and the long, pale legs revealed beneath the skirt—her delicate, curvaceous body was outlined in a captivatingly seductive way.

Jiang Huai thought the dress fit quite well and the fabric was comfortable, but it wasn’t suitable for going to class. She blinked her eyelashes and asked curiously, “Why did you buy me a dress like this? I only took the morning off and still have to go back to school later!”

After reporting last night’s incident to her department teacher, the teacher had immediately approved her leave request, which was why she had slept in so late.

Gu Yunze was speechless. He felt like strangling his assistant. What if Huai Huai thought he was the kind of man who liked such clothes? That would be so unfair—even though he really did love seeing her in this dress, it should only be for him to see!

He quickly shifted the blame to his assistant. “No, Huai Huai, my assistant bought this on his own. I would never let you go to school dressed like this!”

“Alright, it’s still early. I have a class at two. I’ll go out and buy something simpler. I also need to get a phone and a computer!”

Gu Yunze closed his eyes briefly to suppress the emotions in his gaze. He looked at her with lingering affection before turning to go downstairs. “Okay, I’ll go with you later. Let’s go downstairs and have something to eat first!”

Jiang Huai walked coolly behind Gu Yunze in a pair of soft, comfortable blue slippers. With every step, she swayed gracefully. The short dress, which carried a hint of worldly charm, was transformed by her into an elegant, noble gown.

Watching Gu Yunze walk ahead in his deep blue striped silk pajamas, she couldn’t help but marvel at the noble air in his every gesture. He truly was a man standing at the pinnacle of the pyramid. The hardships of his childhood had only made him more resilient.

However, the occasional flashes of obsession and gloom in his eyes didn’t escape her keen observation.

Downstairs, Jiang Huai watched as the servants brought out plate after plate of exquisitely prepared, appetizing dishes.

She made up her mind: she would work hard to earn money, buy a big villa, and hire a team of chefs to cook for her.

The thought of a life where she could have whatever she wanted to eat filled her with longing. How wonderful it would be not to have to go out for meals.

Gu Yunze sat across from her, watching Jiang Huai eat with great relish. She quickly polished off eight plates of pastries along with a cup of fragrant soy milk, then let out an adorable little burp. He chuckled softly.

He took a tissue and gently wiped the oily sheen from the corner of her lips.

Jiang Huai felt a bit embarrassed—she had been really hungry just now—but the food was truly delicious, even surpassing the imperial feasts she had eaten in the Divine Abyss Country.

She took the tissue from him. “I can do it myself!” Carefully wiping the corners of her mouth.

They tidied up briefly. When heading out, Gu Yunze didn’t forget to grab a black suit jacket and drape it over her shoulders. “It’s windy outside!”

Jiang Huai saw through it but didn’t comment, letting out a light chuckle.

They took his Rolls-Royce to the largest shopping mall, where she bought a new phone, a laptop, a new SIM card, and a pile of ordinary clothes. She also needed to reapply for her ID card and bank card.

Everything was paid for with Gu Yunze’s card, but Jiang Huai transferred the money back to him once her bank card was reissued. Thanks to him, everything was handled quickly.

A little after two o’clock, after bidding farewell to Gu Yunze, Jiang Huai returned to the college for classes, wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and black slim-fit pants.

After class, she went to the library and spent two hours studying medical books. She then opened her laptop to check on the follow-up developments at Lin Shangyu’s company and found that he had received a capital injection. She guessed it must be the money he shamelessly obtained from someone that morning—a full billion!

She sneered. How utterly shameless.

Thinking back to the fire that day, Jiang Huai hacked into the hotel’s surveillance footage. She discovered that many cameras had been burned out, but the surveillance recordings hadn’t been deleted.

The footage before the fire only showed a young man walking out normally, without any suspicious behavior. Yet, this very lack of suspicion made her even more doubtful.

She continued checking earlier surveillance footage and saw that before checking into the hotel, the man had asked the front desk a question. Based on his lip movements, she deduced he had requested the room next to 415.

Wasn’t 415 her room? This made Jiang Huai suspect it might have been a setup targeting her all along. Could it be the female lead? Or the female lead’s mother? Lin Shangyu likely wasn’t a suspect—that night, he was at Flow Moon Manor, tangled up with someone else.

Puzzled, she rested her chin on her hand, blinked, and pondered for a moment.

Next, Jiang Huai hacked into Lin Xiaoxiao’s phone and computer but found no suspicious communications. Instead, the chat logs between her and the male lead disgusted her thoroughly. This female lead wasn’t as innocent and pure as the rumors made her out to be.

She then checked Liang Yingyue’s phone and computer but found nothing suspicious either. However, a chat with a man named Wang Xiaochen piqued her interest. Wasn’t this Liang Yingyue’s ex-boyfriend from the plot?

But the chat logs seemed perfectly normal. What else would rekindled lovers talk about? Just the usual.

Jiang Huai continued investigating Wang Xiaochen but found no trace of his information online.

As she prepared to dig deeper and entered a website, her computer suddenly showed signs of a virus attack. Was this person that powerful? She instantly retaliated, planting an SSS-level virus on his computer.

Hmph! She wouldn’t lose when it came to technical skills!

Seeing that the library was about to close, Jiang Huai paused her investigation into this man.

For the next three days, she didn’t bother with how Lin Shangyu’s company was faring because she was genuinely busy, even putting aside the matter of Wang Xiaochen.

Jiang Huai threw herself wholeheartedly into her medical studies and was called by Mo De to assist in the laboratory.

She left early and returned late every day, with Gu Yunze waiting punctually at the door each time. She had been wanting to move out, but Gu Yunze always had countless reasons to make her stay. For instance, here she could have professional chefs preparing her meals, with daily food and drinks being rich, delicious, and nutritious. Additionally, there were facilities like a gym, a boxing room, a photography studio, a music room, and an art studio, all kept clean without her having to do any cleaning herself.
